Job description

This is an opportunity to make a lasting contribution to an organisation with ambitious plans for growth and impact.

You'll have the chance to work directly with senior leadership, influence organisational design, and help shape the systems, structures and culture that support high-quality programme delivery across multiple regions.

Purpose of the Role

Over the last decade, the organisation has experienced significant growth in the scale, complexity and geographical reach of its programmes. Alongside this growth, we have invested in strengthening organisational systems, programme quality frameworks and support functions to ensure that we continue to deliver high-quality impact.

As we enter the next phase of organisational development, we are seeking to review and enhance our Global Delivery operating model to ensure it remains fit for purpose, scalable and aligned with our long-term strategic ambitions.

To support this work, we are seeking an experienced consultant or fixed-term Project Management Officer (PMO) to undertake a structured review of programme delivery structures, processes and resource allocation, and to support the implementation of recommendations that will strengthen consistency, efficiency and accountability across the organisation.

The successful individual will work closely with senior leaders to assess current ways of working, identify opportunities for improvement, and help embed sustainable changes that support organisational growth and impact.

As our programmes continue to evolve, we want to ensure our delivery structures, governance processes and ways of working remain aligned with our strategic ambitions. We are seeking someone who can help us:

 Review and optimise the structures and processes that support our programme delivery

 Assess workload allocation and resource planning

 Strengthen governance, accountability and performance management

 Improve consistency across teams and functions

 Embed effective and scalable ways of working

 Support implementation of practical, sustainable improvements

 Recommend tools, processes and systems to achieve greater efficiencies

What You’ll Be Doing

Working closely with senior leaders, you will:

 Conduct a review of our current delivery operating model

 Analyse programme portfolios, workloads and resource allocation

 Review processes that support and sit alongside programme delivery

 Facilitate workshops and stakeholder consultations

 Assess governance, reporting and decision-making within our programme delivery processes

 Develop recommendations for improved ways of working

 Support the initial implementation of agreed changes

 Establish practical tools and frameworks for capacity planning, governance and performance management

By the end of the assignment, we expect to have:

 Greater consistency across programme delivery teams

 More effective workload and capacity planning

 Improved collaboration across teams and functions

 Scalable systems and processes that support future growth

 A clear roadmap for continued organisational improvement

What We're Looking For

We're interested in hearing from individuals or consultancies with experience in:

 PMO leadership

 Organisational transformation and change

 Governance and performance improvement

 International development, education, youth, charity or purpose-led organisations

 Resource planning and workforce design

 Most importantly, you'll be able to build credibility quickly, work collaboratively with stakeholders and balance strategic insight with practical implementation.
