About Us

The Royal Parks (TRP) is a charity established in 2017, managing over 5,000 acres of diverse parkland, rare habitats, historic buildings, and monuments in eight Royal Parks across London. These include Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, The Green Park, St James’s Park, and more.

We also manage other important public spaces such as Brompton Cemetery and Victoria Tower Gardens, making these iconic green spaces some of the most visited attractions in the UK, with 77 million visits annually.

Our Learning Team creates inclusive, high-quality learning experiences across nature, heritage, and wellbeing, inspiring curiosity and fostering lifelong engagement for people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities.

We are now looking for a Casual Learning Officer to join us for a casual contract on a flexible basis but with a minimum of 10 days worked per year.

The Role

As a Casual Learning Officer, you will support the Learning Team on an ad-hoc basis.

Specifically, you will deliver engaging outdoor learning sessions to school groups, activities during family events, and other aspects of the learning programme independently and as part of a dynamic, inclusive, and inspiring team.

Additionally, you will:

  • Contribute to the preparation of learning materials and resources
  • Adapt to the needs of diverse audiences in an outdoor setting
  • Support the Learning Team in maintaining high standards across all programmes

You may also be offered opportunities to provide administrative and customer service support for our adult and family learning events. This will include preparing and uploading event information online, responding to public enquiries about our programmes, and administering bookings.

About You

To be considered as a Casual Learning Officer, you will need:

  • Proven experience delivering outdoor environmental education to school groups
  • In-depth knowledge of ecology, natural heritage, and outdoor learning
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to perform effectively under pressure
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities with a flexible and adaptable approach to unforeseen circumstances
