Job description

We're delighted to announce our collaboration with an outstanding membership association as they seek a Digital Communications Officer for a 12-month contract position.
The successful candidate will be responsible for creating engaging email campaigns, informative website articles, and impactful social media posts to enrich member experiences and advocate the benefits of membership to wider audiences.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and managing email campaigns for various audiences, including members, corporate partners, and employees.
  • Gathering news stories from across the organisation and adapting them for email communications.
  • Collaborating with individuals within the association to write news stories.
  • Targeting specific audience segments with email communications.
  • Maintaining and improving email communication templates.
  • Implementing recommendations from recent email audits and testing plans.
  • Overseeing the editorial calendar for email communications.
  • Identifying opportunities for new additions to the email campaign calendar.
  • Enhancing the quality and quantity of mailing lists in partnership with the campaign manager.
  • Utilising analysis tools and data to evaluate the effectiveness of email campaigns.
  • Reporting on the performance and progress of email campaign activities.
  • Contributing to internal projects involving email communication or the email subscriber list.
  • Assisting the Social Media Specialist by creating, editing, and posting content on social channels.
  • Addressing comments or inquiries received via social media.
  • Supporting the Head of Communications by generating news articles and related content for the website.

Requirements:

  • At least two years of experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in copywriting.
  • Experience with creating email-based digital newsletters and familiarity with email marketing tools (preferably DotDigital).
  • Knowledge of online analytics tools.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret data and present findings clearly.
  • Capacity to instruct and advise colleagues on best practices.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise workload effectively.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all content.
  • Adaptability to write for various audiences across multiple digital channels.

What’s on Offer:
This is a 12-month maternity cover position starting in March, offering hybrid working with one day per week in the Buckinghamshire office. Salary ranges from £31,000 to £33,000, depending on experience.
