Job description

Role Overview:
The Talent Set is working with a fantastic charity who are looking for an experienced and confident Digital Lead to oversee the redevelopment of their website and drive digital best practices within their organisation. This is an exciting 5-month opportunity to lead a website transformation ahead of a major rebrand, ensuring an optimised and user-friendly experience for audiences.

You will work closely with an external agency, internal stakeholders, and a small digital team to oversee the website development process, manage sprints, and ensure the successful delivery of a high-performing site. You will bring a strong understanding of SEO, information architecture, and user journeys, with the ability to guide content improvements and structure enhancements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the website redevelopment project, ensuring smooth delivery in collaboration with an external agency.
  • Manage the website development process, working within Agile sprint cycles, reviewing progress, and holding the agency accountable for delivery.
  • Provide clear direction to internal content editors, ensuring best practice in SEO, information architecture, and user experience.
  • Conduct a content audit and drive improvements to content quality, structure, and accessibility.
  • Work closely with stakeholders across the organisation, gathering digital requirements and ensuring they are reflected in the website’s structure.
  • Provide hands-on technical support with Umbraco CMS, ensuring content is managed efficiently.
  • Oversee the performance of a contracted Digital Manager, ensuring delivery standards are met.


Person Specification:

  • Proven experience in website management and digital project delivery, ideally within a non-profit or charity setting.
  • Strong technical understanding of Agile methodologies and experience managing website development with an external agency.
  • In-depth knowledge of SEO principles, information architecture, and user experience best practices.
  • Experience conducting content audits and implementing improvements in website content and structure.
  • Confident in managing multiple stakeholders and bringing them on the journey through clear communication.
  • Ability to work independently, make decisions, and take ownership of digital projects.
  • Familiarity with Umbraco CMS or similar content management systems.
  • Experience managing and supporting junior team members.
  • Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail and quality assurance.

  • A hybrid working pattern with just 2-days per-week in the organisations Central London office.
