Job description

The Talent Set is working with a leading charity who is looking for a dynamic and experienced Digital Product Manager to support them on an 18-month FTC.

This role requires a seasoned professional with a strong background in managing and innovating products tailored to specific demographics. Responsibilities include managing an existing product portfolio, developing new products to address market needs, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to enhance product reach and achieve revenue goals. Utilising market insights and data, you'll craft and refine products that meet customer needs while positively impacting the lives of children and young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take the lead in developing and executing a comprehensive media and PR strategy for the entire organisation, encompassing devolved nations.
  • Work closely with the Head of Marketing and Communications to contribute to and implement the media and celebrity/patron elements of our broader marketing and communications strategy.
  • Lead and manage media relations, celebrity and patron engagement, and recruitment and stewardship of case studies for media use.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with the media, focusing on building strategic connections with both new and existing contacts.
  • Identify and maximise proactive and reactive media opportunities, craft press releases, statements, Q&As, and other materials, and handle media inquiries.
  • Develop and implement proactive media and PR plans to elevate the profile of our organisation and raise awareness of relevant issues.
  • Proactively pitch creative ideas for news stories and features to the media, contributing to a vibrant and impactful communication strategy.
  • Provide expert media advice and training to staff, supporting spokespeople to ensure they are well-prepared for media engagements.
  • Actively engage with all teams across the organisation to identify compelling stories and case studies.
  • Identify potential reputational risks and undertake crisis communications/reputation management as required.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on media activity and coverage to refine and enhance our strategies.
  • Manage relationships with existing celebrities and patrons, explore opportunities for their support, and research and cultivate relationships with potential new celebrities and patrons.
  • Lead the effort to enter the organisation for national awards and encourage teams to submit award applications for their outstanding work.
  • Manage a rota system to cover press enquiries and oversee the Media and Communications Officer.

Personal Specification

  • Significant experience in the charity, not-for-profit, or health sector.
  • Substantial experience in a press office role or within the media.
  • Proven track record of securing robust media coverage.
  • Strong news sense and the ability to place stories effectively.
  • Capability to thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines at a high standard.
  • Exceptional copywriting, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Strong project management skills to handle a busy workload and multiple projects concurrently.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships internally and externally.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of the media.
  • Proactive, creative, and enthusiastic.
  • Self-sufficient with the ability to work collaboratively in a team.

What's on offer:
This is full-time role and is paying up to £40,000 per-annum and can be done fully-remotely! That being said, please note that you must have the right to work in the UK in order to be considered.
