Job description

We are thrilled to be partnering with a fantastic membership association in their search for a Freelance Social Media and Content Designer for a beginning of March start date. The role is for 2-3 months, part-time (3 days a week) and will be fully remote.

To apply for this role you must have your own company set up and have professional indemnity insurance. 
 
The post-holder will be responsible for creating and managing content across all social and digital channels. As a social media and content designer, you will utilise owned and earned social media to both amplify the work and activities and engage with key external audiences.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensure social media and digital channels and are fully scheduled and optimised to support the agreed objectives and to implement and deliver the social media strategy.
  • Design, create, re-purpose and commission as needed, effective and engaging content for the social media platforms and cross promotional spaces. These will include creating and designing a range of visual assets such as digital cards/banners, campaign imagery and video content.
  • Design, create and manage a bank of always-on social media assets and posts, to ensure consistent presence of the social media.
  • For specific projects and campaigns, create original artwork and visual imagery that can then be applied to create a suite of digital and physical assets for use across all channels.
  • Create and edit content suitable for a social media audience using video, webinar, podcasts, and speaker quotes. This will include briefing, storyboarding, and filming and editing content as required, to suit a multitude of channels and audiences..
  • Ensure effective forward planning and scheduling of the centralised social media and digital channels (LinkedIn, YouTube and rollout the use of Instagram & TikTok).
  • Ensure effective and ongoing monitoring and evaluation of social media performance against stated objectives, including social media moderation, listening and sentiment.
  • Work with the team to analyse results and adapt approaches where needed and actively seek new opportunities for online engagement with audiences.

Person specification:

  • Access to your own IT (guest access to sharepoint and MS Teams will be provided) and access to social media analytical tools e.g. Episerver, Asana, Sprout Social and editing software (content and videos)
  • Excellent working knowledge of all key social media platforms, including LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram and TikTok.
  • Excellent working knowledge of a range of website content management systems, social media and communications planning and publishing systems, and analytics tools
  • Proven experience in content creation for social media and audience engagement strategy across highly visible channels and Platforms.
  • Experience in tracking and evaluating activities demonstrating efficiencies and impact.
  • Proven proficiency in web-editing, HTML, file-sharing systems, multimedia uploads and the range of activities involved in online media publishing and platform management, including YouTube,

and Vimeo.

  • Strong video and photography skills with the ability to capture, edit and create stories and reels either live or post-event.
  • Crisp, clean and engaging copywriting skills.
  • Proficient user of a range of design software packages including Photoshop, InDesign, Canva as well as video editing/captioning software..
  • Experience of setting and managing budgets
  • Attendance at forthcoming Conference at the beginning of May 2024 in person to capture event for social media and content creation

What’s on offer:
This a 2-3 month part-time (3 days a week) freelance role, fully remote. The day rate for this role will be £250-£350 outside IR35
