We are working with a well-established, values-led organisation to recruit an Interim Head of Communications.
This is a senior, hands-on role leading a small communications function, with a key focus on maintaining business-as-usual activity.
Key responsibilities
- Overseeing corporate communications across internal and external channels
- Managing regular content output (announcements, blogs, stakeholder communications)
- Leading on the annual report and key publications
- Supporting and managing a small team (2 direct reports)
- Advising senior stakeholders on messaging and communications approach
- Managing media relations and handling reputational or press issues
- Ensuring communications support wider organisational priorities and influence
Key requirements / person specification
- Strong experience within corporate communications, ideally in the charity, public or wider non-profit sector
- Experience leading or shaping a communications function
- Confident advising senior stakeholders and operating at a strategic level
- Strong people management experience, with the ability to support and guide a team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience managing media relations and navigating sensitive or complex issues
- Understanding of how communications can support organisational strategy and influence
- Comfortable working in a non-campaigning environment, with a focus on corporate and stakeholder communications
