Job description

The Talent Set are delighted to be partnering with the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity to support their search for a Legacy Executive to join their team.

The charity offers a flexible working environment, offering a hybrid working pattern of 2 days/week from their Chelsea and Sutton offices.

The Legacy Executive will work collaboratively to deliver core elements of the legacy marketing programme, whilst providing the highest-quality supporter experience through multi-channel communications and one-to-one stewardship. 

You’ll be a proactive, highly organised individual, eager to build on your existing experience within the legacy and/or charity sector. With strong communication skills and the ability to provide an excellent, personalised stewardship experience for supporters, you will be instrumental to the success of legacy giving during an exciting period of growth!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be the first point of contact for Legacy enquiries, providing excellent and personalised one-to-one stewardship to supporters through phone, email and letter communications
  • Manage the Legacy welcome journey by offering a high-quality supporter experience that leads to long term relationships
  • Provide exceptional supporter care by responding to legacy and fundraising queries
  • Ensure scripts & letter templates are maintained and reviewed on a regular basis
  • Maintain efficient processes and accurate recording on database systems
  • Support with the planning & delivery of acquisition and stewardship communications to supporters across a range of channels
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring campaigns remain on schedule
  • Monitor & report on campaign performance to inform future planning & decision making

Key skills include:

  • Passion for stewardship and delivering supporter welcome journeys
  • Experience working with a fundraising database
  • Understanding of working in a project setting, with the ability to manage aspects of a project, meeting deadlines and keeping to budget
  • Excellent communications skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to build relationships
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Experience in copy-editing and proofreading
  • Ability to respond sensitively and appropriately to emotional circumstances, including bereaved donors
