Work setting: Remote (based within East of England)
Salary: Up to £30,793 per annum
Hours: 1-year FTC, full-time (35 hours per week)
Location: East of England

TPP are recruiting a Local Growth Officer on behalf of our client, a dynamic and inclusive organisation committed to empowering young people through outdoor activities and creating diverse and inclusive groups.

The Role: 

As a Local Growth Officer, you will play a vital role in helping Counties and Districts achieve their growth ambitions. You will be collaborating with local volunteers and the Growth & Communities team to foster the engagement of young people from lower-income communities and those from Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic families. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead a team through a period of change, foster a culture of high performance, and drive data-driven fundraising initiatives.

Main responsibilities:

  • Utilise local knowledge to contribute to the development of inclusive Growth Plans.
  • Identify opportunities for growth within local communities, working closely with lead volunteers.
  • Provide regular progress reports and support volunteers in creating sustainable growth plans.
  • Assist in the retention and recruitment of adult volunteers for new sections.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to showcase best practices in opening groups in underrepresented communities.
  • Represent the organisation within Counties and Districts, contributing to the national growth debate.
  • Plan, promote and implement growth initiatives and projects.

Essential requirements:

  • Experience with volunteer organisations and community engagement.
  • Understanding of diverse communities and their needs.
  • Proficiency in digital platforms for workshops and events.
  • Experience working with young people aged 10+.<
  • Confident public speaker and skilled at presenting ideas and information to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Self-starter with spotless organisational and time management skills.
  • Full UK driver's licence.
  • Able to work some evenings and weekends.
