Citizen has partnered with Resurgo to deliver the Spear programme in the heart of South Wales.
They are looking for a new Assistant Coach, to work alongside the Centre Manager, as part of the team at Citizen Church to deliver the Spear Programme, equipping and empowering unemployed 16–24 year olds to overcome barriers to employment and turn their lives around by moving into sustainable work or further education.
The important stuff
Salary: £21,500 p.a. pro rata for part-time role (£10,750)
Hours: Part time, 2.5 days per week, between 9.30am – 5.30pm, Tuesday – Thursday (with some flexibility and occasional evening or weekend work for events such as Spear Celebrations)
Location: Citizen Church, Cardiff

Key Responsibilities
Spear Programme
- Lead group sessions of up to 10 young people, using coaching skills to transform their mindsets, and to maximise their potential in stepping into the world of work
- Prepare and deliver coaching sessions on a weekly basis and find creative ways of developing ongoing relationships with Spear Trainees. This includes running application workshops with past Trainees as well as maintaining records and reporting on statistics.
Relationship management
- Build and manage relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including referrers, local businesses, and other organisations
- You will support with job fairs, mock interview days and welcoming external visitors to the centre
Church Community
- The Spear Coach is directly employed by Citizen Church, meaning you are part of a vibrant church staff team and submerged in an exciting faith community
- Help to raise the profile of the Spear programme within Citizen Church and build a network of supporters and volunteers from the congregation
- Other ad hoc church responsibilities from time to time.

The South East London Suicide Bereavement Service is a collaboration between South East London Mind, South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, and Mind in Bexley. The service provides vital emotional and practical support to adults and young people who have lost a loved one to suicide. You will be joining a supportive team who share a passion for working with people during some of the most difficult experiences of their lives.
We are looking for a compassionate, reflective and resilient individual to fill the key role of Suicide Bereavement Support Worker. Your primary responsibilities will be to deliver one-to-one emotional and practical support and co-facilitate occasional bereavement support groups. This role involves building relationships with people from all walks of life and managing your own caseload. You will have ownership over your work, while being supported through regular supervision and reflective practice.
With experience providing emotional support, including to those who have experienced bereavement, you will be an excellent communicator with good assessment and support planning skills. You will also be highly organised and able to manage a busy and varied workload. The ability to adapt your approach to a wide variety of people, ensuring that support is inclusive and sensitive to service users’ cultural and religious backgrounds, is essential. This role involves meeting clients in the community, including carrying out home visits. Although it is possible to fulfil the travel requirements of the role by public transport, this would best suit someone with access to their own mode of transport, such as a car or bicycle.

As Trusts and Foundations Officer you will be Baobab’s key fundraiser and a self-starter with experience of working in a small or medium sized charity. You will be responsible for carrying out a successful program of fundraising from small, medium and large charitable trusts and foundations to an agreed annual fundraising target. You will also assist in delivering Baobab’s individual major donor programme, helping to set up and deliver communications and events related to this income stream. You will work closely with our operations team to gain an overview of all aspects of Baobab’s work. About the role

The School of Law seeks to appoint a Lecturer in Welfare Rights / Social Justice who will manage the development and delivery of high-quality social change legal education in the School of Law for undergraduate and postgraduate students. Job Purpose:
We are looking for a passionate, ambitious Assistant Charity Shop Manager to join our successful team to help manage our charity shop in Old Swan.
The Assistant Shop Manager will be an integral part of the wider Charity team.
Main Duties/Tasks:
You will be pivotal in assisting the Shop Manager in leading and empowering a team of volunteers to engage with the local community, maximising the contribution of gifts of time from volunteers, the gifts of products from our donors and the gift of income from our customers. Income generation
• Work with the Shop Manager to maximise sales and profits ensuring weekly targets are met.

The charity is currently conducting a four day working week trial, due to end on 30th September 2024. This means that, for example, staff previously working 37.5 hours a week are now working 30 hours a week to enable a four day working week. The trial is monitoring the benefits of a four day working week against productivity. We are confident that by embracing a more flexible and balanced approach to work, we can continue to create a thriving and fulfilling work environment while driving growth and success for our charity. A decision will be made before the 30th September 2024 to agree the next steps, based on an assessment of the trial period; the four day working week trial may be ended, extended or adopted permanently.

About the role
We are recruiting a Senior Events Manager to join our Events team on a permanent basis. This Senior Events Manager will strategically advise stakeholders on event format, content and delivery to ensure it maximises not only the project objectives, but wider UCL objectives as a whole. The postholder will not only focus on the logistics of producing top-class events for UCL, but will also be involved in advising on the content and context of the events, to ensure that UCL's story is being told as widely as possible and the impact is as far-reaching as possible.
The Senior Events Manager will effectively resource projects across the team of Event Managers and Event Officers, motivating and empowering to deliver engaging activity, and will also line manage a team. They will continuously seek improvements, by devising and delivering ways to measure and analyse its success and impact, and will be responsible for managing complex budgets. They will proactively support and engage with colleagues across UCL.
VPEE teams work from our Central London office on Tuesday each week, and attend events as needed.
About you
To excel in this role you will need to have extensive experience of creating, organising and managing a variety of successful in-person and virtual events including large events (2,000 plus) as well as bespoke content-led activity, and a thorough knowledge of strategic event planning - not just the logistics - to make sure events are insight-led, meet defined objectives, tell a clear story and can be successfully measured. You'll also be comfortable liaising, negotiating with and influencing senior stakeholders, in presenting ideas and managing complex budgets, operating within a tight budgetary framework.
You are a natural leader, able to motivate, line manage and delegate tasks whilst empowering colleagues to create, innovate and deliver, and create a collaborative working culture. You are organised, have meticulous attention to detail and are a committed team player who is willing to 'muck in', but you are equally able to work independently and support others to do so when required. You are a clear and confident communicator (written and in-person) and are able to deal with difficult situations diplomatically, calmly and to make on the spot decisions when necessary, in urgent situations.

The Felix Project is London's biggest food redistribution charity and the largest end-to-end food redistribution charity in Europe.
The Felix Project is a dynamic, ambitious charity working to make London a city where no one goes hungry and good food is never wasted.
We rescue high quality, fresh and nutritious food that cannot be sold from nearly 500 suppliers including supermarkets, wholesalers, farms, restaurants and delis. We sort and deliver this food to charities, schools and community projects supporting London’s most vulnerable people.This year we expect to rescue 13,000 tonnes of food to redistribute to more than 1,000 London frontline charities and primary schools in every borough of London. The Felix Project is growing fast in response to huge demand. Set up in 2016, we now have around 160 staff working alongside 8,500 volunteers. We have four main operating depots spread across London - in Deptford, Enfield, Park Royal and Poplar. We’re committed to ensuring our different teams work hand-in-hand, so our main hot-desking spaces are built into these depots.
Alongside our large-scale, depot-based operations we have green ‘point-to-point' food redistribution projects in central London and Canary Wharf. In Poplar, we operate a commercial Kitchen which uses surplus food to cater for up to 5,000 individual meals per day.

The People Administrator will manage all staff recruitment and operations at The Felix Project. You will support the hiring managers through all stages of the employee life cycle and will ensure this process is both rigorous and streamlined. You will also manage and support our HR administration systems and will act as first point of contact for day-to-day staff issues.
