BVSC is looking for a Health & Wellbeing Volunteer Lead to drive the growth and impact of our volunteerled programmes — Bexley Buddies and Digital Champions. 

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working collaboratively across sectors, developing highquality volunteer programmes, and strengthening relationships with GP surgeries, NHS partners, charities and community organisations. You will play a key role in delivering better outcomes for residents by ensuring volunteers are supported, trained, and empowered to make a meaningful difference across the borough. 

You will lead programme delivery, champion best practice in volunteering, support two staff members, and maintain strong relationships with partners and commissioners. • Programme Leadership & Delivery: Lead the expansion and quality assurance of volunteerled health and wellbeing programmes across GP surgeries and community settings. 

• Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain effective relationships with NHS, VCS and community partners, representing BVSC at borough‑wide health and wellbeing forums. 

• Volunteer Leadership & Workforce Development: Support, coach and manage staff and volunteers to ensure an inclusive, rewarding and high‑quality volunteer experience. 

• Continuous Improvement & Insight: Use feedback, monitoring and evaluation frameworks to strengthen programme effectiveness and drive ongoing improvement. 

We’re looking for an experienced leader with a strong background in community health or wellbeing programmes, partnership working and volunteer management. You will bring excellent communication, problem‑solving and strategic planning skills, along with the ability to support teams and build effective relationships across NHS, voluntary sector and community partners.

About the Role

As a Refuge Support Worker in our Enfield refuge, you will help create a safe, welcoming environment for women and families escaping abuse. You’ll handle phone enquiries, prepare rooms for new arrivals, support with deliveries, and help maintain clean, safe communal areas.

You’ll introduce new residents to Solace services, explain key policies, and ensure they are aware of internal and external support options. Working alongside each resident, you will develop support plans, assist with benefits and housing applications, accompany them to appointments when needed, and help them work towards safe, independent move‑on accommodation.

The role also includes collecting and recording payments, completing health and safety checks, maintaining accurate records, and building strong working relationships with local authorities and partner agencies.

You’ll be part of a supportive team, attend regular meetings and supervision, follow all safeguarding, equality, and organisational policies, and contribute to the smooth and safe running of the refuge.

We are seeking an experienced and forward‑thinking Head of Finance to act as the University’s senior professional lead for financial management, planning, reporting and control.

This pivotal role provides authoritative financial stewardship, ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, and plays a key part in shaping strategic decision‑making across the institution.

Wandsworth Wellbeing Foodbank Service is an adult mental health service, offering support in foodbanks and Primary Care settings and we are delighted to be hiring an additional Wellbeing Coordinator to join our supportive and successful team.

New funding has enabled us to create this post which will focus on increasing our capacity and inclusivity to provide emotional and practical support to the most vulnerable foodbank guests, who present with complex needs. This will involve providing a short-term intervention of up to two sessions, making safeguarding and other referrals where appropriate, liaising with GP’s and improving access to services.

The other facet to the role will involve building new links with marginalised communities in Wandsworth, such as Refugee and Asylum Seekers, people with substance misuse, victims of domestic violence and the LGBTQ+ community. Responsibilities

People Operations

• To keep all employment records up to date and ensure files are appropriately filed, in particular recruitment and onboarding and process any contract changes promptly.

Recruitment

• Create an interactive and clear recruitment process from advertising to hiring stage, working closely with the wider People team to develop and deliver an excellent recruitment and retention strategy

• To act as a first point of contact for all recruitment enquires and requests received externally or internally, ensuring that these are dealt with promptly and professionally.

• Work closely with hiring managers on recruitment campaigns including supporting on writing JDs, uploading adverts to the applicant tracking system and various job sites, and liaising with the Marketing & Communications team on placing job adverts on social media platforms.

• Spearhead active recruitment and ‘headhunting’, using tools like LinkedIn, taking responsibility for helping us find the very best talent

• Keep up-to-date records of all recruitment and monitor diversity of applicants and produce frequent reports on interest, candidate experience and diversity, in line with our EDI commitments.

• Shortlist applications for vacancies, where requested and organise all aspects of online and in-person interviews

• Work with hiring managers to develop the best possible interview and assessment tools to ensure we are hiring the right people for the right roles.

• Keep all new starter files up to date, in particular recruitment and onboarding.

• Develop and manage a group of ‘bank staff’ to cover short-term operations vacancies

Onboarding & Induction

• Take responsibility for the onboarding of new team members which will include pre-employment checks and all corresponding onboarding activities, offer e-mails, and liaising with line managers regarding induction plans and probations.

• Provide comprehensive in-person inductions for all new starters

• Carry out regular check-ins with new starters during their induction period, supporting them to settle in to their new role and helping them to tackle any challenges, via “stay” interviews and other formal and informal methods

• Working with line managers and new starters to ensure that all probation paperwork and activities (such as mandatory training) are completed on time.

• Reporting any trends or data to the wider People team and working with them to address any concerns, escalating issues to other members of the team as appropriate

• Offboarding: Conduct exit interviews with departing employees, tracking reasons for leaving to inform future recruitment and retention strategies.

Information Systems

• To maintain and accurately update the integrated payroll and employee self-service information system ensuring all new starter files are up to date, inputting information and any changes in a timely manner.

• To prepare the monthly payroll as requested using information stored on the system and ensuring supporting documents are in place for any system and contract changes, working with the People Manager as appropriate.

We are seeking a skilled advice and guidance officer to work with individuals within the GRT communities in Surrey.  We want to hear from skilled individuals who combine excellent communication skills, practical advice skills, good organisation and partnership working. Previous experience working with the GRT community is essential.

Main purpose of the job:

• To provide practical advice, guidance, information and support to GRT adults in Surrey that helps them secure appropriate accommodation, including access to relevant benefits and financial support.
   
• To signpost GRT individuals and / or their carers to connect to and engage with appropriate services.
   
• To provide Surrey’s GRT communities with information and advice in order to empower them to maintain their own health and wellbeing, with choice and control over their lives.
   
• To provide advice to statutory and other partners on working with GRT communities.
   
• To provide the above support either in person, over the phone, by video app or via email/website, that is culturally appropriate and appropriate to the individual and their support structure and needs.

Main tasks

• Support individuals in managing finances and benefit claims.
   
• Help individuals to find appropriate accommodation.
   
• Advise individuals in setting up and maintaining a home or tenancy.
   
• Signpost to appropriate health/treatment services, including in areas of mental health, healthy eating, GP registration, immunisation, family planning, pregnancy and use of NHS helplines and webpages.
   
• Signpost to culturally appropriate legal services.
   
• Give support in understanding domestic abuse and signpost to support
   
• Help carers and young carers identify themselves and know how to access support
   
• Support communities to be mental health aware and know how to access support for their emotional and mental wellbeing
   
• Signpost individuals to places they can develop domestic/life skills.
   
• Signpost individuals to places they can develop social skills/behaviour management and take part in social activities and training.

Supporting other organisations working with GRT communities

• Attend and contribute to relevant conferences, forums, training and briefing sessions regionally and locally, especially GRT related ones
• Liaise with Local Authorities, Health Authorities and other agencies regarding client issues.
• Advocate for Surrey’s GRT community through social media, letters and articles, as required
• Ensure Surrey’s GRT communities have opportunities to shape service provision and to voice their views and concerns.

Contract

Solace provides safe refuge and move on accommodation to hundreds of women and children made homeless through domestic or sexual abuse. We run 19 refuges across London, including specialist refuge spaces for women with multiple needs. Of these, this role will involve working across three refuges in the borough of Haringey, in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

About the Role

The primary role of a Family Support Worker is to provide effective, efficient, and supportive service to children and their mothers residing in refuge with Solace Women’s Aid. The staff member will lead on the development of a child and family-centered approach to work in the refuge. In so doing, they will:

• Develop and deliver a range of trauma-informed services to children and young people (0-16 years) and their mothers within the refuge and when they are resettled into the community
• Ensure the completion of comprehensive assessments of family needs and risk of families, ensuring an integrated approach with children and adult services (internal and external)
• Ensure ongoing development of age-appropriate children activities
• Promote ‘Integrated Working’ through internal and external mechanisms in partnership with colleagues and community partnerships
• Coordinate the delivery of activities through session staff, volunteers, and student placements

About You

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience of working with vulnerable children, young people, and/or families, as well as knowledge of the effects that domestic abuse can have on young people.

You will be familiar with Assessment, Action Planning, and Evaluation for families, with experience in maintaining records. You will also have the ability to work on your own initiative, as well as in partnership with other agencies or professionals, to promote family/child wellbeing.

Role Purpose

This is a new, permanent role in Cumbria to implement the charity’s rehabilitation and resettlement plans to help reduce re-offending.
