Resurgo’s initiatives are Spear, a programme helping young people, Resurgo Ventures, supporting emerging social entrepreneurs to make a positive impact on society and Resurgo Consulting, providing coaching services to organisations to increase trust and improve outcomes.
Through our award-winning Spear programme, we partner with churches to work with unemployed young people and support them to get into work or education. 89% have at least one indicator of disadvantage, and over 75% of program completers are still in work a year later.
The role of Centre Manager is to oversee the day to day running of the Spear programme at the centre to enable excellent delivery of the Spear programme as an expression of the Christian life and faith. You will have responsibility for coaching and developing the Graduate and Lead coaches at the Spear centre, and together with the partner church you will develop local networking and partnership opportunities.
We are currently looking for a dynamic and engaging Coach with great communication skills and emotional intelligence, to manage the Camden Spear centre run in partnership with the Lighthouse Church Camden. You will be highly self-motivated and have strong leadership skills and initiative, with excellent organisational skills and confidence working with corporates, as well as at least two years’ experience in training and development design and delivery.
This is a pivotal role working closely with the church staff team to facilitate meaningful and lasting impact in their local community. Because the Spear programme is run in partnership with the church, the role requires that the successful applicant becomes an integrated member of the Lighthouse church community. The UK’s leading interfaith organisation is looking for a passionate, motivated and organised Programme Officer to join our growing West Midlands Team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a dynamic and hands-on role supporting the delivery of Community Dialogue events in Walsall. Founded in 1997, the Faith & Belief Forum works to build strong and productive relations between people of different faiths, beliefs and cultures. Our team in the West Midlands deliver an increasing number of Education and Community engagement projects, connecting people from different backgrounds.
As one of the five areas chosen to work with the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, you will be part of an exciting project developing new ways of bringing communities together.
Working closely with Walsall Council as a Programme Officer, you will support people to have open and honest conversations within and across diverse communities. This will involve training and supporting local people to develop the skills and confidence to facilitate meaningful dialogue sessions within their communities. You will also have the opportunity to support education programmes in the region, working with over 80 schools through our award-winning workshops, School Linking and other creative youth projects.
As Programme Officer, your role will include:
- Working with the West Midlands and Community Team to design trainings and workshops, which aim to foster increased understanding and stronger relationships across communities.
- Training and supporting volunteers from the local community to deliver their own of Community Dialogue Sessions.
- Working with local sports, and arts groups to creatively support Dialogue sessions.
- Planning a final conference to share the learning from the project
- Sharing progress and outcomes of the project digitally via social media posts, podcasts and blogs.
- Supporting the wider work across the West Midlands including the delivery of our Education & Learning programmes in Schools.
To do this, you will need to:
- Be an effective relationship builder who can confidently build and maintain key partnerships to ensure successful projects.
- Bring experience of community engagement and working on complex projects.
- Have experience in planning and facilitating workshops with people from backgrounds and ages.
- Be passionate about bringing people from different communities together and supporting volunteers.
- Be willing to work remotely and have flexibility for evening and weekend work.
