The Role
This is a great chance to join a busy policy team to work with colleagues on the work the Law Society does to be a legal sector leader on climate change. You will be part of the Private & Commercial Law team, who shape policy in areas that matter to many of our members and firms they work in.

Climate change is a growing policy area. The Law Society is a world leading professional body in this area, producing guidance on how climate change will impact solicitors and the law.

Over the next few years we will do work that:
* supports small firms with guidance and resources to assist decarbonisation and setting net zero strategies,

* develop thought leadership on the impact of climate change on lawyers and the law at a national and global level.

* ensure solicitors are equipped to advise on how climate risk impacts their clients.

Keeping up to date with climate policy and legal developments, you will spot and respond to opportunities for positive reforms to support our members. You will research and analyse the impact of changes on our members, on the clients they advise and provide reliable and well-informed advice and leadership. Often you will prepare written briefings, consultation responses and guidance for internal and external audiences, and occasionally you will give presentations. You will also work with colleagues in other areas of the organisation, such as the commercial and international teams.

This is an exciting and varied role where your expertise, knowledge and skills will be used to great effect to make a real difference for our members, their clients and the rule of law.

What we're looking for
Ability to engage with and influence legal policy development across government, parliament, regulators and the legal profession. Spotting opportunities to develop credible and persuasive policy positions and recommendations.

Have a strong working knowledge of clime change issues. Expertise in how climate change is affecting the legal and/or the professional services sector, or the ability to quickly develop this.

Ability to research and analyse complex legal and climate policy issues and assess their implications for the profession, the rule of law and the business of law.

Ability to assess the different views and needs of the Law Society's 200,000 members and law firms/organisations they work for. Understand that what we produce needs to have a right balance between multiple needs/perspectives.

Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a broad and diverse range of people including colleagues across the Law Society, office holders and members, and external stakeholders at all levels.

Community Fundraising and Partnerships Coordinator

About You

We're looking for someone with proven experience in community fundraising and engagement, someone who can build trusted relationships across diverse stakeholder groups and communicate with clarity and warmth. You'll be confident managing multiple priorities independently and bring creativity and energy to campaigns and supporter engagement. Experience with Canva or similar design tools is a plus, as is familiarity with fundraising regulations, or a willingness to learn.

The role could include some short-term casework including concessionary travel claims when capacity allows.

You will need excellent communication skills and be unphased by people presenting with multiple issues, often in emotional distress. You’ll be excited by the challenge of learning new things and have a good knowledge of the services used by disabled people.

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in the United Kingdom delivers a range of programming to support migrants, both in the UK and internationally, including projects focusing on labour migration, resettlement, migration and development, migrant protection, human trafficking and modern slavery, and community cohesion.

In the framework of the “Safe Migration of Seasonal Workers from Central Asia to the UK” project, IOM plans to develop self-help resources for migrants from Central Asia to the UK under the Seasonal Worker Scheme (SWS).

This activity has been proposed in recognition of some of the challenges and risks faced by migrant workers during the migration cycle as it relates to scamming – from recruitment, to being in the UK and on return – so as to provide migrant workers with practical information and resources/ appeal documents that help them to better protect and advocate for themselves.

The self-help resources for migrant workers will complement ongoing pre-departure orientation (PDO) sessions provided to prospective workers in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan before they come to the UK, in which they are provided with information about life in the UK, cultural and work practices, working and living conditions, gender norms, etc. By providing additional self-help resources before departure and while in the UK, migrant workers from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan will have further targeted information about key scamming risks identified and guidance for ways to protect themselves or seek support.

We’re looking to recruit a Senior Policy Adviser to join our Policy Solutions team and help deliver a new ambitious 3-year strategy to bring nature back from the brink by delivering a sustainable future in the UK and stopping deforestation overseas. Your remit will be to encourage a global transition to more sustainable land use and resilient food and farming system by using policy to tackle deforestation.

As Senior Policy Adviser your particular focus will be on setting the direction and delivering public policy for deforestation and conversion free and sustainable agricultural supply chains, for the UK and major consumer markets globally, particularly EU and China. You will be building on work of advocacy, campaigns and on the ground programme expertise in the UK and our partner offices.  This role will involve supporting, and at times, leading an iterative process to understand the problem, explore and innovate solutions as well as design and prototype policy. We will look to you to maintain oversight of policy developments in farming, analysing existing and proposed policies for effectiveness and quality and being alert to new policy ideas. You will produce technical reports, coordinate activity with network colleagues and develop links and strategic relationships with other organisations to maximise our impact too.

This role is ideal for a creative policy specialists, interested in the process and outcome of policy development, inspired by exploring and developing solutions, designing and prototyping policy and influencing implementation.

Churches Conservation Trust (CCT) is the national charity caring for historic churches at risk. As the operator of the third largest heritage estate in charitable ownership in the UK, our 356 historic churches include examples of irreplaceable architecture, archaeology and art from 1,000 years of English history.

CCT has an international award-winning reputation in heritage conservation and regeneration. All churches in our care are listed, mostly Grade I and II*, and some are Scheduled Ancient Monuments.

Without our care, these buildings might have disappeared entirely. Instead, they are enjoyed as social, tourism, educational and cultural resources, kept open, in use, and living once again in the heart of their communities.

Overall job purpose

In recent years, CCT has experienced great success in applying to grant funders, including Trust and Foundations, Landfill Communities Fund, and the National Lottery Heritage Fund. 

CCT’s 2025 -30 strategy focuses on delivering conservation projects across our estate and securing income from grant funders will be crucial.  We will also work with local communities to address smaller conservation projects via the Community Initiative Framework.

The Grants Officer will research and identify relevant funding opportunities, build a healthy pipeline, and submit applications for project funding to meet fundraising targets during an exciting period of growth.

There will be requirement for occasional travel for project visits and team meetings.

We are looking to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our Information & Advice team provide information, advice and support to people aged 60 and over, living in Waltham Forest. The purpose of the job is to deliver advice to those housebound or not able to travel to The Hub, so it will involve home visits throughout the Borough. It will include assisting clients to maximize their income through providing benefits calculations, help to complete forms, provide advice resources and some supervision of volunteers. You will have good interpersonal skills, have proficient database skills and enjoy working as part of a team. Experience of benefits advice and another language is desirable.

Your role in summary • As part of a proactive team, you will produce excellent, creative written content that captivates and motivates hospice supporters, donors, customers, staff and volunteers. • Support our communications output, both digital and physical: covering our events, shops, stories and ongoing campaigns. • Capture and convey stories that reflect the diversity of our hospice stakeholders, showcasing the positive impact that the community’s support has on our hospice care. This will include writing about fundraisers, volunteers and staff, as well as people who benefit from our care or support. • Using your skillset, understand the tone and message to use in our content in line with our hospice values and brand. • Support the delivery of our fundraising and shops’ social media activity. Working alongside colleagues, produce effective content delivered through the main hospice and shop channels to encourage supporters to shop, donate or register for events. This will require effective forward planning and hands-on creation of visual (video/still) and written content. • As required, provide design support/delivery in relation to fundraising, trading and general hospice posters, flyers and digital content. • Ensure hospice artwork is accurate and on-brand. FareShare UK's pioneering Surplus with Purpose scheme works with businesses across the food industry to help cover the extra costs of redistributing their unsold food to people who need it and preparing unfinished surplus food for redistribution.  Surplus with Purpose helps FareShare redistribute thousands of tonnes of surplus fresh fruit and vegetables to charities and community organisations that need it.

Run by charity EMERGE 3Rs, FareShare Greater Manchester (FSGM) is a major food re-distribution charity in the city-region, fighting food poverty and hunger and tackling food waste.We are excited to add a new Driver/Warehouse Operative to our team to help us run our Surplus with Purpose scheme, as well as to support our normal daily operations. 

A typical day will include carrying out the daily van safety check, collecting your order lists from the Food Allocations team and then picking the fruit & veg for each order, which will be between 400kgs and 800kgs.   After safely building the pallets, you'll load them onto the van and then unload at the Community Food Members' (CFMs) site.  You'll collect their empty trays and return them to our Warehouse, perhaps stopping to refuel on the way, where you'll take on Warehouse duties as required e.g. picking orders, cleaning, goods-in, stock rotation etc.

You are the face of FSGM to our CFMs so you'll need top notch customer service skills, excellent communication skills and a commitment to working in a culturally sensitive way.  It's a physical job so you can comfortably lift up to 25kg at a time repeatedly and throughout the day.  For insurance purposes, you need to be at least 25 years' old, with experience of safely driving commercial vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes. If you have a licence for driving larger vehicles (up to 7.5 tonnes), even better.  The salary offered will reflect the driver qualification you have.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior IDVA to join the Specialist Services team in Bedfordshire. This is a fixed term contract until 31st March 2026, which maybe extended subject to funding. This role will be hybrid and be located within Bedford Borough Council.
