Harris Hill is supporting the wonderful charity AfriKids, to find maternity cover for their current Philanthropy Manager post, starting ASAP for 9 months, possiibly longer. 

This role can be full time, or 4dpw, working hybrid based, mostly remote, with 1 day per month in the London office.

Reporting to the Head of Fundraising, and part of a small but ambitious fundraising team, you will lead our relationships with many of AfriKids existing
and prospective major donors, as well as have oversight of our small individual giving and community & events programmes.
Your role will focus on building existing relationships, developing stewardship plans, identifying and researching prospects and forming proposals and appeals.
You’ll also play a key role in supporting the development of the team’s fundraising strategy, using your experience and knowledge of the fundraising landscape to
help us devise an ambitious but sustainable plan to expand and safeguard our
work into the future.
With an eye for detail and the creativity to identify new opportunities, you will bring the energy and drive to deliver results for children.

In short, this role will require you to:
Manage relationships with prospects, donors, an volunteers
Secure donation from 4 to 5 figures from major donors.
Prospect research

Assist arrange and launch cultivation events.

Experience:
A proven track record in successfully securing five and six figure
donations from high-net worth individuals
In-depth experience of major donor fundraising and knowledge of
best practice fundraising techniques
Experience in researching and developing prospecting pipelines
Experience in building excellent relationships with donors that

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

Staff Leadership and Development:

Operational Management:

- Oversight of ALM’s physical resources including premises and equipment. 

Governance, Compliance and Risk Management: 

- Work closely with the Board of Trustees to ensure effective and transparent governance including the development, review and implementation of policies.

- Take the necessary actions to ensure the charity complies with all legal and regulatory requirements and work with the Trustees to Identify, analyse and mitigate organisational risks. 

Fundraising and Financial Management: 

- Develop and implement a fundraising strategy to provide long term sustainability. 

- Maintain and build relationships with trusts, foundations and other donors that support the work of the charity.

- Lead financial planning and manage the budget, ensuring effective use of resources and financial accountability.

External Representation: 

- Build strong relationships with key external partners, including local authorities, government agencies, and third sector organisations. 

- Act as the public face of ALM, champion the charity’s cause, develop key messaging and promote its mission to a wide audience, including dealing with challenging and sensitive contexts. 

Key Skills & Experience Required:

• Leadership: Previous experience as a CEO or senior manager in the third sector is highly desirable. Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, set a clear vision, develop and implement strategies, implement change and drive organisational success is required.
• Fundraising Expertise: Experience in fundraising, partnership building, and donor relations.
• Financial Management: Strong understanding of budgeting, financial planning, and financial management.
• Governance: Familiarity with UK charity governance and compliance requirements.
• Problem-Solving Skills:  Ability to deal positively with challenges, be pro-active, have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and demonstrate resilience.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. High level of emotional intelligence, ability to engage and work with people from different cultures and backgrounds.
• Knowledge of the Refugee and Asylum Sector. Experience of working in the asylum and refugee sector is desirable. Empathy and understanding for those going through the asylum system is essential.
• Values: a strong commitment to social justice and to the charity’s mission and values.

The responsibilities of the Client Finance Manager will include:

Principle Responsibilities

About the role

The Group Work Facilitator will play a pivotal role in delivering the CouRAGEus Project, an initiative designed to support Black and Global Majority young women, LGBTQ+ youth, and disabled young people. The role involves facilitating safe, inclusive, and empowering group work sessions that foster emotional resilience, healthy relationships, and self-advocacy.

The Facilitator will provide a trauma-informed, culturally responsive space where participants can explore issues such as mental health, well-being, consent, and social justice. By collaborating with a multidisciplinary team and tailoring interventions to meet diverse needs, the Facilitator will help participants build confidence, develop skills, and navigate challenges while promoting their overall safety and empowerment.

Women and Girls Network (WGN) is a pan-London organisation that supports women and girls affected by all forms of gender-based violence. Our overall aim is to promote, preserve and restore the mental health and well-being of women and girls who have experienced, or are at risk of, gender-based violence, whilst working towards a society free of gender-based violence.

We do this by:

• Providing women-only holistic and seamless therapeutic services, which meet women and girls’ needs and contribute to total and sustainable recovery from the experiences of violence.
• Evidencing the impact of gender-based violence and presenting this information in appropriate forums to affect social change in attitudes towards, and responses to, gender-based violence.
• Developing good practice in the sector by providing training and guidance on specialist service provision and the development of culturally appropriate service delivery.

About the role:

This role is based working from home, however the successful candidate will be expected to line manage and visit clients within the Hampshire & Isle of Wight region as well as surrounding areas and should therefore live within the Hampshire & Isle of Wight or Berkshire area.

As a Senior Caseworker you will be:

• Line managing a small team to deliver effective support to victims of anti-social behaviour
• Responsible for reviewing cases and auditing against set quality standards.
• Delivering tailored support to victims of anti-social behaviour. This could be in person, via telephone or electronically.

You will need:

• Proven track record of effective casework or line management
• Proven track record of successfully delivering services and working directly within a statutory, voluntary or multi agency setting(s
• Effective communication skills both written and verbal and numerical.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, sharing, coaching others.

This role involves regular travel and due to the location, a driving license and access to a vehicle is considered an essential requirement. About the role:

This role is based from home with a requirement for occasional travel to venues across the region to attend Team Days and other meetings as required. You will be working Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm.

As a Triage & Early Intervention Officer, you will be:

• Talking to people on the telephone from a variety of different backgrounds, all with different experiences. No two days are the same & you will need to use your communication skills and resilient nature to help those dealing with trauma and the effects of crime, who may have gone through a life-changing experience.
• Previous experience in a similar role would be helpful but is not essential as you will receive robust training prior to working directly with clients. You will also receive ongoing support to ensure that you can provide victims with quick responses to meet their needs and help them cope and recover.
• You will be working within a small supportive team that is part of a large independent charity which offers the opportunity to develop skills to enhance your ongoing personal development.
