Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Restorative Practitioner to join the Thames Valley team in Thames Valley, working 18.75 hours a week.

About the role:

  • This role is home based with travel around Thames Valley when required
  • Demonstrate a good command of the English language both verbally and in writing.
  • Have a good understanding of Restorative Justice.
  • A clear understanding of the criminal justice journey of both Victims and Offenders
  • The ability to assess, update and mitigate risk including risk information held by partner agencies
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understand Safeguarding issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues
  • Maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the requirement for confidentiality and safe working practices, maintaining records in accordance with the Data Protection Act and other legal requirements.
  • Experience of working within a multi-agency and legislative framework.
  • Experience of outcome focused working.
  • Experience of managing a complex caseload, to prioritise work and deal with competing demands demonstrating an organised an methodical approach to work
  • Experience of delivering training or presenting
  • Delivery of Restorative Justice practice including direct and indirect processes
  • Completion of relevant, accredited RJ training, including serious and complex training
  • Have excellent communication, negotiation and advisory skills, both written and verbal when interacting with a range of agencies and individuals
  • Understand and be committed to equal opportunities and diversity and inclusion issues in policy and practice
  • Demonstrate the ability to use IT applications competently including, Microsoft Word, Excel etc. and Case Management systems in order to keep accurate records and monitoring your performance
  • Clean driving licence, access to a vehicle and business insurance essential for some areas, for example rural locations (requirement will be discussed at interview)
