Job Description
As the Operations and Visitor Experience Manager, you play a pivotal role at CSC, with full
responsibility for our Centre in Cambridge Science Park and our secondary site, currently in
Wisbech.
An essential part of your role is to drive CSC’s direct revenue streams connected to the Centre.
You will lead your team in generating public and school bookings, and in overseeing community
audiences, private hires, and other groups, ensuring every visitor enjoys a seamless and
welcoming experience. You will also take a proactive approach to increasing visitor numbers,
expanding CSC’s membership base, and researching and developing new revenue-generating
initiatives that strengthen our long-term sustainability.
Your expertise in creating and implementing exhibition spaces will be instrumental in bringing to
life our annual delivery calendar of science themes, which is strategically curated to attract and
engage our audiences while supporting the delivery of our Programmes. You will oversee an
annual budget covering the shop and site facilities.
You will work closely with the Outreach and Innovation Manager to prioritise, schedule, and
maintain products and content in line with CSC’s core Programmes and commitments, ensuring
impactful experiences for all audiences. In collaboration with the Marketing and Communications
Manager, you will plan and execute advertising campaigns targeting both the public and schools.
You will also coordinate with the Corporate Partnerships Manager to develop opportunities for
corporate partners to support on-site exhibitions and events, ensuring agreed partnerships are

Beyond operations, you will champion excellence in STEM engagement, providing both positive

Key Responsibilities
● Create a welcoming and engaging environment for all visitors to our centres.
● Support and line-manage the Delivery and Sales Administrator and the Finance and

with requirements at both centres. Implement corrective actions where needed, and

Working Conditions
The primary location for this role is Cambridge Science Centre at Trinity Centre, Cambridge

This role is central to positioning CSC as the leading small-to-medium-sized science
centre and STEM engagement organisation in the UK. Working with the CEO and

Main Duties & Responsibilities
This is an exciting new role for an ambitious and commercially minded Venue manager to lead all aspects of our new venue and café with event delivery and organisation. This is a hands-on role focused on operational excellence, outstanding customer experience and sustainable income growth. The role:
This Venue Sales Executive role is pivotal in maximising room hire and activity bookings, developing client relationships, and generating sustainable revenue for this central London charity. As Venue Sales Executive, you will proactively identify opportunities, convert enquiries into confirmed bookings, and work with internal teams to ensure clients have a seamless, high-quality experience.
- Actively promote and sell conference room hire and activity packages to new and existing clients.
- Respond promptly to enquiries, prepare tailored proposals, and follow through to secure bookings.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships, encouraging repeat bookings and referrals.
- Develop and implement strategies to maximise income.
- Coordinate post-event client interaction, including feedback collection, evaluation, and follow-up to maintain client loyalty.
- Monitor local competitor offerings and market trends to identify new income opportunities.
Essential criteria:
- Proven experience in sales, business development, or income generation.
- Ideally, experience in hospitality, events, venue sales or similar.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.

Holborn Venues are looking for a full time Events Co-ordinator to join a small team running a wide-ranging events programme within a unique listed building in Central London. Key Responsibilities

Planning and coordinating of all international tours and residencies undertaken by the Orchestra,

Planning and coordinating of UK-based performances, engagements and tours outside of the Orchestra’s core regional residencies.

Planning and coordinating commercial recordings and special projects, shared with Concerts & Projects Manager, according to orchestra schedule.

Developing and managing detailed itineraries, travel schedules, visas, freight and accommodation for musicians, artists, staff and equipment.

Preparing project budgets, managing and maintaining set budgets and final reconciliation and invoicing, including international tax applications on behalf of the Orchestra.

Liaising with the Orchestra’s Head of Production and Stage Managers regarding practical arrangements for all concerts and projects, including, but not limited to, stage plans, stage extensions, ATA carnet applications; truck requirements, second instruments etc.

Liaising closely with the Orchestra Librarians on orchestrations and editions for repertoire being performed or recorded.

Supervising the Concerts Coordinators and Assistant in the practical delivery of contracts, PPE letters, technical riders, dressing room and security lists, rehearsal venue bookings, flight and hotel lists etc.

Keeping abreast of all relevant agreements and updates from the Association of British Orchestras and Musicians’ Union concerning touring best practice and regulation.

Liaising with the Orchestra Committee and Artistic Committee regarding player matters as directed by Senior Concerts Manager/Concerts Director.

Travel with the Orchestra on all international tours and attending concerts & projects within the UK as necessary.

Upholding and demonstrating the Orchestra's values. Representing the Philharmonia with utmost professionalism at all times.

Skills and Qualifications
Essential:

Minimum three years’ managerial experience in classical music administration preferably with a focus on tour management

Demonstrable experience in performance production and scheduling; including knowledge of international visas, tax and travel.
