About the Role

As Head of Philanthropy & Partnerships, you will be responsible for delivering and significantly growing voluntary income from key fundraising areas, including Trusts, Lottery, Statutory funding, Philanthropy, Corporate and Commercial partnerships. Leading a team of expert fundraisers, you will develop strategic partnerships, secure multi-year funding, and cultivate relationships that fuel our mission.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement an ambitious partnerships strategy to drive sustainable voluntary income growth.
• Lead and manage income streams across Trusts, Lottery, Statutory, Philanthropy, Corporate, and Commercial partnerships.
• Build compelling cases for support, ensuring high-value bids and proposals secure significant funding.
• Work closely with internal teams to align fundraising priorities with organisational goals.
• Drive high-value donor engagement and stewardship, ensuring long-term partnerships.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, ensuring financial sustainability and strategic alignment.
• Ensure fundraising activities are compliant with GDPR, fundraising regulations, and internal policies.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, ambition, and excellence.

Key Skills & Experience:

• Proven success in high-value fundraising across Trusts, Foundations, Philanthropy, and Corporate partnerships.
• Strong bid-writing skills with experience securing multi-year and full-cost recovery funding.
• Strategic leadership experience, with the ability to drive income growth and manage teams effectively.
• Commercial acumen with a track record of developing mission-aligned partnerships.
• Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels.
• Strong financial planning and budget management skills.
• Knowledge of fundraising compliance, governance, and best practices.
• Passion for making a difference and commitment to Versus Arthritis’ vision and values.
