About the Role:

You will play an active role in identifying, cultivating, securing, managing and retaining donors, and soliciting major gifts, with the full support of the Executive Leadership Team and Chair of Trustees.

Here's a summary of your key responsibilities:

• Prospect and cultivate new individual supporters to donate 5 figure gifts using a variety of tactics, such as attending in person networking events, gaining introductions from our Development Board, Trustees and other senior supporters
• Personally manage a prospect pool of individuals to steward and re-engage to donate 5 figure gifts
• Maximise the partnership opportunities with the Lord Mayor’s Appeal.
• Develop written materials and proposals to engage prospective individual donors and report on the impact of their donations
• Develop stewardship and cultivation activities (e.g. webinars/ drinks receptions for mid-level donors)
• Use the support of senior leadership and members of the Board of Trustees to cultivate prospects as needed
• Work with colleagues to identify and scope new high value partnership prospects and application opportunities
• With the support of the Head of Development, develop and implement the donor giving strategy
• Report against income, expenditure and other targets
• Keep MQ’s central database up to date with all prospect actions

About You:

This role is for you if you are self-motivated and an experienced relationship fundraiser and driven to ensure that targets are hit and projects are delivered to the highest possible standards.

You will have demonstrable experience of managing 4 and 5-figure+ gifts from donors and be a sophisticated communicator with the confidence to build relationships with and inspire colleagues and donors.

Essential role requirements include:

• Previous major donor fundraising experience
• Exceptional communication skills particularly in understanding and translating complex information and turning it into compelling written proposals
• Has a can-do attitude
• Demonstrates a commercial mindset
• Good interpersonal, influencing and relationship-management skills, at all levels.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience of Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge/NXT is desirable but not essential.

Role context:

Cord’s turnover is about £2m a year. About 85% of Cord’s funding is restricted, coming from institutional donors like the EU and the US government, and 15% (about £300K) is unrestricted coming from a committed UK supporter base and other private fundraising streams.

The Finance Manager role is a newly created role which is being introduced to strengthen the organisation’s financial management and control systems. The postholder will work across the breadth of the finance function preparing internal management accounts and external annual accounts.

In 2024, Cord changed its finance system to use Business Central. The Finance Manager will become the organisation’s main ‘admin’ user of the finance system. In the near-term, there will be a particular focus on rolling out further functionality of the system and developing financial policies and procedures. 

The Finance Manager will have oversight of the UK finance function through the line management of the UK Finance Officer and will directly deliver on the international side of operations in the areas of donor compliance, programme financial management, partner financial monitoring, and reporting. The role will involve travel to international programme locations.

• To support the Head of Operations to provide finance team leadership, develop and deliver an annual finance workplan to ensure continual improvement, and to drive finance capacity across the organisation

The Out There Award (OTA) increases the skills, confidence and social connections of young adults (18-26 years) from diverse backgrounds to enjoy the outdoors responsibly. As a member of the Programmes team, the Programme Lead (Out There Award) will be responsible for the successful development and delivery of the programme across GB.

Key responsibilities

• Lead on the design, development and operational delivery of the Out There Award programme across GB.
• Create operational delivery plans – to identify milestones, monitor risks, resolve issues and manage resource requirements.
• Design and develop resources and processes to support programme implementation.
• Be responsible for managing a budget in line with programme goals and objectives.
• Be responsible for evaluation and reporting, to ensure the programme meets KPIs and delivers measurable impact.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Fundraising and Communications Executive is a new role and will play a pivotal part in advancing our communications and fundraising strategies. As OTR continues to grow, this position will be instrumental in expanding our online presence and ensuring we connect with a broad audience, including young people, families, professionals, and supporters of our mission. From a fundraising perspective, you will help drive our fundraising activities and ensure efficient administration using the newly acquired ‘Donorfy’ database. This includes leading on the stewardship of donors and community fundraisers, managing our fundraising CRM database, and working on small and medium-sized trust and grant applications. You’ll also support digital campaigns and new initiatives, to encourage sustained support for our work. You’ll directly help to secure the financial support needed to expand OTR’s services and reach more beneficiaries. JOB PURPOSE

The Fundraising and Communications Executive will play a key role in implementing OTR’s fundraising and communications strategies. The role involves planning, creating, curating and managing high-quality digital content across our website, social media platforms and email marketing campaigns. Furthermore, you will support key areas of our fundraising strategy, including trust and grant applications, horizon scanning and ensuring excellent fundraising administration across all areas of activity.

This position is instrumental in supporting the Head of Fundraising in developing and strengthening OTR’s income streams and increasing awareness of OTR’s services through effective communications. 

Specific role duties

Supporting the fundraising strategy

• Lead on OTR’s donor and community fundraiser stewardship through excellent communication and effective relationship management.

• Lead on the implementation of fundraising communications across channels.

• Responsible for small to medium size trust and grant applications, including horizon scanning

• Support the stewardship of small and medium-sized trusts and foundations including scoping, applications, reporting and funder management.

Social media

• Monitor social media platforms to ensure timely and appropriate responses to comments and messages.

Email marketing

The Role

This role involves developing and implementing fundraising strategies to generate financial support, build relationships with potential donors, organise fundraising events and maintain donor relationships to secure and retain funding for the Lingfield Foundation.

You will be the first point of contact for a wide range of enquirers and supporters, assisting with the implementation of a regular giving strategy and supporting donor communications and retention.  Day to day task will include ensuring accurate records on the Development database, supporting the work of Alumni with a range of events and promoting the work of the Development Office with the use of social media.

The ideal candidate will be a confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills in order to effectively nurture relationships with a range of external contacts.   

This post is a varied and busy role and will require someone who is highly organised, has proven ICT skills ideally with some knowledge of CRM systems, and is willing to deal with a variety of tasks with a ‘can do’ and flexible approach to work.  Previous experience of working in fundraising ideally within the education or charity sector would be an advantage.

The Croydon Refugee Day Centre (CRDC) is a small, primarily volunteer-led organisation, with a 4-person staff team and 70 dedicated volunteers.

Our mission is to work together with asylum seekers, refugees and other stakeholders to create a welcoming, responsive & sustainable community at Croydon Refugee Day Centre, where people seeking sanctuary are respected as equals, can regain some control of their lives and build towards a future in the UK.Bottom of Form  Last year, we supported over 1600 people.

Over the past few years, the number of asylum seekers and refugees in Croydon has increased dramatically, and CRDC is increasing its services and staffing to meet the new level of need.

Job Description

As Administrator for the Croydon Refugee Day Centre, you will be a crucial part of our small staff team, working across, maintaining and developing all our administrative systems. Your core responsibilities will be as follows:

Oaklands & St Kilda is a pair of 6 unit supported accommodation mental health rehab services working with young people between the ages of 18-25 who may have experienced a mental health related hospital admission to gain and develop skills for future independent living. The service will support individuals transitioning from Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services to Adult services.

This role is set for 9-month, ending on 12 January 2026, with the possibility of extension.

The Specialist Support Worker role involves early shifts (8:00-16:00) and late shifts (14:00-22:00) throughout the week, including some weekends each month.

What does United for Global Mental Health do?

At United for Global Mental Health, we work with trusted partners to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and increase support for mental health worldwide.

The United for Global Mental Health team is made up of diverse, passionate and knowledgeable individuals based in the UK and in countries around the world. By combining our extensive in-house expertise in advocacy, financing and campaigning with the unique insights of our many partners, we’re making progress on ensuring that everyone, everywhere has someone to turn to in support of their mental health. What will I be doing? 

This role will support the delivery of several activities within our portfolio of activities on climate change, the environment, and mental health. The four main areas of work that the Senior Officer will be responsible for include:

• Leading work with national partners (50% of post)

• Integration of people with lived experience (hereafter referred to as PWLE) across the portfolio (25% of post)

• Developing our advocacy on the intersection of air pollution and mental health (15% of post)

• Developing our advocacy on the intersection of biodiversity loss and mental health (10% of post)

National level work (50% of post)

A key component of the current project will be to support national partners in a subset of countries globally (approximately 6 countries) to advocate for action on climate change and mental health. The final set of countries is yet to be defined but will likely include one country per WHO region and one country from the Small Islands Developing States. The specific responsibilities of this component will include:

• Lead in the selection of national partners in each country. This will include supporting the running of a competitive process to select one civil-society organisation based in each country to conduct the work

• Strengthen the capacity of national partners to work on climate change and mental health (e.g., via training to national partners to be delivered by the Senior Officer), if required

• Support national partners in advocating for the integration of mental health into climate policies, including but not limited to Nationally Determined Contributions, National Adaptation Plans, Heat Health Action Plans etc.

• Lead in cohort-building activities for this subset of countries (e.g., organising regular meetings, ensuring shared learnings etc.)

• With the support of our Operations team, support in the logistics of sub-contracting national partners and monitoring deliverables

Involvement of people with lived experience (25% of post)

The meaningful engagement of PWLE of mental health challenges is central to all work at United for Global Mental Health. The specific responsibilities of this component will include:

• Leading on setting up and coordinating a Lived Experience Advisory Group (LEAG), which will meet every two months to provide guidance to UnitedGMH and national partners on their work on climate and health. The Senior Officer will be responsible for recruiting approximately 12 PWLE (2 x WHO region), organising regular meetings, and ensuring that the feedback of PWLE is integrated across different projects

• Support the attendance of PWLE to key global advocacy moments in a meaningful, safe, and impactful way

• Support national partners on the integration of lived experience considerations in their work on climate change and mental health 

Work on air pollution and mental health (15% of post)

The evidence on air pollution and mental health is a nascent, but rapidly growing, area of interest. The specific responsibilities of this component will include:

• Scope what concrete opportunities exist for integrating mental health considerations into air pollution policies at the global, regional, and national levels 

• Build connections with organisations working on air pollution and clean air policies

• Refine our messaging on air pollution and mental health

• Lead on the production of one advocacy brief on air pollution and mental health

Work on biodiversity loss and mental health (10% of post)

There is emerging evidence on the association between biodiversity loss and mental health, but very little work has yet been done in the policy space. The specific responsibilities of this component will include:

• Scoping what concrete opportunities exist for integrating mental health considerations into biodiversity policies at the global, regional, and national levels 

• Build connections with organisations working on biodiversity, conservation, and nature

• Refine our messaging on biodiversity and mental health

• Lead the production of one advocacy brief on pesticide use and suicide

• Lead on our engagement with the Convention on Biological Diversity Conference of the Parties (biodiversity COP)

Is this job for me?

Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience working on global mental health policy, advocacy, research, or practice

• Expertise in managing and engaging with multiple different types of stakeholders (e.g., civil society, UN agencies, governments etc.) 

• Experience working on co-creation, patient and public involvement (PPI), or working with people with lived experience of mental health problems

• Excellent project management skills and strong planning skills including attention to detail, critical thinking, multi-tasking and problem-solving

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team

• Expertise in the development of funding proposals and ability to track and report on grant deliverables

• Expertise in organising meetings, events, and small gatherings of partners and other stakeholders

• Ability to travel 2-3 times a year internationally

Desirable

• Expertise in climate change and mental health is desirable but not required

• Experience of working in low- and middle-income countries on mental health is desirable but not required

• Experience of working on influencing policy within a government is desirable but not required
