We are seeking a highly experienced Trusts and Foundations fundraising consultant to spearhead the Trusts programme at Dreams Come True. As an excellent communicator, influencer, and relationship builder, you will have a proven track record of successful fundraising in this area: ideally securing between 6 and 7-figure gifts.
The successful individual must clearly understand what is meant by a strong brand / charity proposition and have clear evidence of creating and delivering compelling cases for support, with strong examples of this resulting in successful grants to the value of £50-£100k.
Building upon the current small programme, you will lead on initiating conversations with new funders; quickly building rapport and submitting compelling funding proposals and writing timely reports as necessary. This is the sole Trusts based role within the Fundraising team but works closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation to develop funding projects and applications.

About the Role

You will work directly with children and young people with learning disabilities who are living in a residential home near Ludlow, providing them with advocacy support on a fortnightly basis. You will have experience and a passion for working with children and/or adults with learning disabilities and complex needs.

You will empower and support them to ensure their voices are heard within decision–making processes that effect their lives and keep in regularly contact with children and young people to ensure their best interests are safeguarded.

You will be a capable ambassador for Coram Voice with the ability to engage effectively with professionals, carers, other stakeholders and most importantly children and young people.

As an Independent Living Advisor, you will:

• Provide a comprehensive independent living advice service to people experiencing difficulties with day-to-day living, mobility, and self-care, or to those caring for someone in this situation, ensuring they have sufficient and appropriate information to make informed choices, working in a way which empowers them to take and maintain control of their own lives
• Complete person-centred and holistic assessments, using information from Occupational Therapists and other health and social care professionals as necessary, to establish their eligibility for support services in their area, and provide advice on support options available to people via statutory, charitable, and private sources.
• Provide a person-centred support service within a designated region to include some home visits, and other face-to-face activities in local communities as required.

A core part of the role will involve addressing holistic support needs that could include employment related issues, family work interventions, issues of exploitation, physical and emotional health, domestic abuse and support to engage in rehabilitation. To succeed, you’ll need significant experience of engaging effectively with clients in an addictions or social care setting. What does this role involve?

As Veterinary Behaviourist you’ll:

• Work with the Community Clinical Animal Behaviour and post-adoption support teams in devising the optimal behaviour rehabilitation strategy for dogs in their care while liaising with external veterinary practices as required to support the work of clinical teams.
• Support and advise staff across Dogs Trust on matters relating to psychoactive medication and links between disease, physiology and behavioural signs, under the direction of the Head of Clinical Behaviour Services.
• Provide behaviour consultations to owned dogs with behaviour problems especially those with a medical component that requires specialist input.
• Assist with staff training through workshops, clinical case reviews, mentorship and conferences.

With a good knowledge of dog behaviour, training and welfare you will have a veterinary qualification with postgraduate experience as a veterinary surgeon. Transition Together is seeking to continue the work of deepening connection and growing the voice of the Transition Movement in England and Wales through the freelance engagement of three Network Weavers. This exciting project will see this team, supported by Transition Together staff, co-design an in person Transition Assembly early next year to guide the future of our Movement in the UK as well as build relationships with Transitioners across Wales and England and connect to emerging and established networks across the UK. We have a new three year partnership with a leading bank, which aims to build financial resilience and break the cycles that can see people experiencing financial problems and this having a negative effect on their housing situation.

Your role will be to provide leadership and line management for six team members, keeping up to date with legislation, mentoring and coaching your team on complex issues in housing, debt and welfare benefits. The views of people with Lived Experience is key to service design at Shelter and you will lead on making sure they are involved to deliver a service that is truly co-produced. We aim to empower communities, so you will develop and deliver training on rights awareness and build relationships within the community. In Birmingham hub we specialise in providing housing advice and homelessness work, with a particular focus on families and people experiencing multiple disadvantage. We work in partnership with a range of organisations to improve the underlying systems that prevent people from living securely in suitable, safe, affordable accommodation. This role will be to provide day to day leadership for our Peer Mentor Service, delivered in partnership with Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Foundation Trust. FIRST stands for Forensic Intensive Support Recovery Teams, where Peer Mentors use their own lived experience of complex needs to provide early intervention to improve client outcomes.

About the role

You will be responsible for the day to day service delivery and line management of the Peer Mentors, supporting them to deliver tailor made and holistic support packages, integrating joint working protocols within NHS services. You will allocate referrals and work closely with the Service Manager and Service Commissioners to identify gaps in provision. At Shelter we are aiming to change the systems that cause the housing emergency so you will identify examples of good and bad practice which will then be used to call for systemic change.

Let’s Go Zero is a national campaign uniting teachers, pupils, parents and their schools as they all work together to be zero carbon by 2030. We’re also working with national government to ensure the right support is in place to help all schools reach this goal through seven policy actions. This initiative will link thousands of schools across the whole of England with advice and support from a network of 31 local climate experts.

We are looking for advisors based in Yorkshire and The Humber, North West and North East to support school leaders, local authorities and others to carry out projects that reduce emissions and inspire students and the wider community. We know schools are eager to take climate action, but often lack the information to do so.     

Do you have a passion for climate action? Are you confident engaging with external stakeholders? You will play an important role helping them develop their plans, secure funding, and work in partnership to achieve their goals. You will support future new initiatives announced by our coalition members, the Department for Education, or other organisations working in schools, to ensure a smooth flow of information, enabling schools to transition to zero carbon. 

This is an exciting and varied role, with the potential to support thousands of schools on their journey to zero carbon.

Citizens Advice Birmingham has partnered with Alzheimer's Society to deliver Welfare Benefits Advice for people living with dementia. This includes those with the condition and their carers. 

Are you an experienced adviser who has a strong background in the delivery of high-quality advice and a good working knowledge of welfare benefits? 

We are looking for an enthusiastic caseworker to join the team, to provide the following:

• You will undertake casework, assisting clients to access their entitlement to welfare benefits and other sources of financial help, up to and including tribunal representation.
• Advice will be delivered virtually according to the service user’s needs and preferences. This will include phone, secure email or secure video calls.
• Help to design welfare benefit information leaflets and upskill referrers, preparing and providing training on our referral processes.
• Working independently and building relationships with third sector colleagues will be important, as will the ability to achieve targets, and support the work of volunteers. 

Annual Leave:  25 days plus 8 bank holidays pro rata per annum from 1st January to 31st December. This rises to 30 days pro rata over the next 5 years

Role Title: OISC Level 2 Immigration Advisor

Shropshire Supports Refugees (SSR) is a charitable organisation dedicated to supporting refugees and marginalised migrants who have come to live in Shropshire.

Our mission is to create a welcoming and inclusive community by offering practical help, resources and emotional support to those in need.  With a staff team of fifteen and fifty dedicated volunteers, we are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of those we serve.

Location: Shrewsbury and locations around Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin

Hours: 37.5 hrs per week 

Reports to: CEO

Salary: £31,200 - 2yr fixed term contract

Main Responsibilities:

• Conduct initial consultations with clients to assess their immigration needs and eligibility

• Provide comprehensive advice on various immigration matters, including visa applications, settlement, asylum claims, and appeals within OISC level 2 guidelines

• Maintain accurate records and case files, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations

• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients

• Advocate on behalf of clients by telephone, letter and email with appropriate agencies

• Keep up-to-date with changes in immigration laws and policies and provide training to colleagues as necessary

• Attend training events relating to asylum and immigration

• To supervise OISC level 1 colleagues

• Undertake other tasks within the organisation as required

Person Specification:

Essential:

• OISC Level 2 accreditation is essential

• Previous experience working as an Immigration Advisor or similar role within the immigration sector

• In-depth knowledge of UK immigration laws, policies, and procedures

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds

• Strong time management with the ability to work to strict deadlines

• Knowledge and understanding of the voluntary sector

• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills

• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral

• Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively

• Proficiency in the Microsoft suite

Desirable:

• Fluency in additional languages 

• Experience of Salesforce CRM 

• Full driving licence
