As our Training Coordinator you predominantly support the Service Delivery Managers and Support Officer in the effective planning and delivery of wheelchair skills training to meet the strategic objectives. The person
You will be part of the Young People’s Services Team who provide a range of services and activities for young wheelchair users and their families. You will have a friendly and professional approach to working with families and professionals and be highly organised to manage planning, delivery and relevant paperwork for all wheelchair skills services. You will provide face-to-face support to each young person, in their local community, to help them develop confidence, aspirations, and a pro-social mindset. “For My Future” is a bespoke 6-week course designed in 2019 specifically for people in the justice system. Focusing on both personal skills and practical ones (CVs, applications, interviews), the course is delivered either in person or online to small, single-sex cohorts over a 6-week period. To succeed in this role, you will have experience of supporting people in group scenarios and be confident presenting both in person and online. Groups will need to be carefully managed to ensure each young person gets the best experience and can benefit from the course.

Aquarius is a charity that helps people and communities overcome the harm caused by alcohol, drugs and gambling. Right now, we’re looking for a self-confident and energetic individual with a good understanding of gambling, substance misuse and health related issues, to provide a vital support service for individuals with gambling related needs.
Working flexibly across the community and within multi-agency partnership settings on an outreach basis, we’ll rely on you to engage people in a variety of interventions, using a person-centred approach. A core part of the role will involve addressing holistic support needs that could include employment related issues, family work interventions, issues of exploitation, physical and emotional health, domestic abuse and support to engage in rehabilitation. Whatever it takes, in fact, to empower them to reduce risk, increase resilience and achieve positive outcomes.
To succeed, you’ll need significant experience of engaging effectively with clients in an addictions or social care setting. You’ll also need knowledge of primary, secondary and other outreach settings and a good understanding of the functional model. The PG Dip CAPNiP programme is an exciting distance learning programme from Anna Freud and UCL. The programme is targeted towards professionals working with children and young people, to support their understanding and application of the latest psychological research and practice to their working lives. The programme is delivered entirely remotely to the global cohort, using a range of online learning tools and strategies to support networking and connection amongst students; it brings together a diverse range of views and expertise from academics, experts by experience and clinicians, to support students understanding of a range of topics relevant to the wellbeing of young people.
The programme holds a particular focus on trauma and trauma-informed practice, including a specialist module on working with the impact of trauma, and on trauma-informed practice in education. The programme runs for one year full-time, or two years part-time.
