Job description

If you’re passionate about supporting children and young people through tough moments, The Circle could be exactly where you belong. We’re West London Mind, and our award‑winning, non‑clinical crisis prevention service is open 365 days a year to help young people de‑escalate, feel safe, and access skilled, compassionate support.

About The Circle

The Circle is a warm, youth‑designed space for 5–18 year olds who may be struggling with their mental health or at risk of crisis. Instead of attending A&E, young people can drop in for calm, child‑centred support, emotional regulation, and practical guidance. You’ll also work closely with parents, carers and professionals to strengthen wellbeing and self‑management.

What You'll Do

  • Provide in‑the‑moment support to help young people de‑escalate distress

  • Use age‑appropriate approaches to reduce the need for medical intervention

  • Lead emotional regulation exercises and deliver psychoeducation

  • Co‑produce safety and wellbeing plans with CYP, families and referrers

  • Offer 1:1 support via drop‑ins or appointments

  • Signpost families to ongoing local support and build strong community networks

  • Contribute to creative group activities (e.g., art, music, workshops)

  • Follow safeguarding procedures and risk processes confidently

  • Keep clear, timely records and gather feedback to evidence impact

  • Engage in reflective practice, training and team collaboration

What We're Looking For

You’ll bring at least two years’ experience supporting children or young people in a mental health or wellbeing setting.

You’ll also have:

  • A child‑centred approach

  • Strong communication skills

  • Confidence with safeguarding

  • Ability to work flexibly and manage your own wellbeing

  • Experience using Microsoft Office

  • Understanding of GDPR, equality and diversity

Please see JD attached to this ad for a full description and requirements of the role.

We are an equal opportunities employer; and are proud to employ a workforce that reflects the diverse communities we serve.
