This role is critical in:

• Supporting the team to manage internal and external facing projects and events, developing and maintaining operational processes to ensure we achieve our organisational targets.
• Project management and co-ordination, helping to develop our internal processes to plan and manage our work and bring more transparency across the organisation.
• Helping to develop and manage the operational process for the What Works in Recruitment and Retention (WWRR) programme.

MindWorks is a research programme designed as a randomised controlled trial to test a specialist intervention for young people at risk of school exclusion due to challenging behaviour. Grounded in CBT and systemic approaches and underpinned by a strong anti-racist framework, the programme recognises the impact of structural inequality and works closely with schools, families and communities, with young people recruited directly through education settings.

What you’ll do

You will deliver a structured, short-term intervention (typically over eight weeks) to young people and their parent or carer, combining therapeutic work with collaboration across the wider school network, including trusted adults. The role is outreach-based, primarily taking place in schools, family homes and community settings. It involves providing direct clinical support, working systemically with families and education staff, and contributing to a wider research trial while applying evidence-based, trauma-informed and mentalisation approaches.

What you’ll bring

Please note: a three-week training programme in the intervention and trial requirements will start on 24 August 2026. You must be available to complete this comprehensive training, which is a core requirement for the role. This is non-negotiable.

Essential requirements:

�� Proven therapeutic experience in supporting young people in community and education settings, working systemically with families and other key adults.

�� Relevant qualifications and expertise: training in psychology or a related mental health field, with the ability to deliver evidence-based interventions for children and young people.

�� Cultural competence and inclusion: ability to work effectively across diverse cultural contexts, applying inclusive, anti-discriminatory practices within clinical work.

�� Strong communication and collaboration: skilled at building relationships, communicating complex ideas clearly, and working with multiple stakeholders while using supervision effectively.

Key details

Hours: full-time, 35 hours per week.

Salary: £32,136 FTE per annum, plus 6% contributory pension scheme.

Location: community sites, schools and colleges, and Anna Freud (4-8 Rodney Street, London N1 9JH). Face to face delivery predominantly. Ability to travel is essential and travel expenses will be paid. The schools taking part in the Mindworks trial for the first term (September – December 2026) are based in Dagenham, Borehamwood, Tilbury and Bedfordshire. You will be allocated to a school in one of these areas for the term and must be willing to commute there daily. From January 2027, school recruitment will be focused on the London / Greater London area.

Contract type: starting on 24 August 2026 (non-negotiable), fixed-term until July 2028.

Wherever they may be in the world, they face violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation. 

Founded in 1996, Railway Children has dedicated over a quarter of a century to developing outstanding practice and services for street connected children. With projects in the UK, India and Tanzania, we aim to reach these children as soon as they are in danger and intervene before an abuser can.  As we embark on our new strategy to 2030, we have ambitious plans to ensure no child is left behind, wherever we work. 

The role 
We are looking for a Youth Outreach Practitioner for our South Yorkshire team and are keen to receive applications from those living in and around Sheffield or Doncaster.  You’ll be part of a dynamic team delivering Railway Children’s programme in the UK, in partnership with British Transport Police (BTP).  

As a Youth Outreach Practitioner, you’ll play a key role in keeping children safe from harm by engaging in patrols to identify and safeguard young people (aged 10-17) at risk of criminal and sexual exploitation, county lines, missing from home, homelessness or family breakdown.  

You will also work closely with our Youth Practitioner, supporting a number of young people who have been identified or referred for 1-1 direct support.

Both aspects of the role will involve working directly with young people and their families to reduce risks, as well as building strong relationships other social care, Police, third sector agencies and local services in the area.  

Your base would be at Sheffield or Doncaster Railway Station with regular travel between these stations plus Barnsley and Rotherham stations and working across these boroughs. This role does involve working regular unsociable hours including evenings and weekends.   

 About you 

You will have experience of successfully engaging and supporting young people and families as well as working in an outreach or similar setting, in a creative and engaging way with young people with a range of needs and vulnerabilities.    

A relevant qualification in an appropriate discipline in working with children and families, community or youth work or equivalent experience is desirable. Alongside this relevant training in safeguarding and/or issues relevant to vulnerable young people and families is essential.    

You will need to have experience of providing front line support to safeguard some of the most vulnerable young people in the UK.   

Experience of developing productive relationships/partnerships with a variety of organisations such as 3rd sector group, local services and statutory services such a social care to support the needs of vulnerable young people and families is a must.

About the role 

The Inshore Boating Support Administrator works on development and administration of processes and policies that support our on the water activities, assisting with routine correspondence on all matters relating to the Inshore Boating department.

Responsibilities 

• Answering and signposting enquiries received by email, post and phone.
• Updating and amending held records on all boats and equipment across the charity.
• Management and tracking of data to review and identify trends.
• Support the updating of personal records as required
• Supporting the Head / Assistant Head of Inshore Boating with the admin of the department.
• Support admin in the wider learning directorate.

The Kent Infant Feeding Peer Supporter role is vital in the delivery of community Infant Feeding Peer Support within the region. Offering support face to face within the community, family hubs, local hospitals, within families homes and virtually via social media platforms, phone and video calls. 

Your role will include

• Community based with travel around Dartford, Gravesham, Swanley and Swale. 
• To provide breastfeeding and infant feeding peer support to parents
•  Support in delivering inductions and offer shadowing for volunteer peer supporters.  
• To attend regular supervision/support sessions.  
• Collecting data as and when required including case studies and narrative of work with the communities.   
• Attend meetings relevant to safeguarding duties to ensure effective and informed practice, responding to and supporting safeguarding concerns. 

About you

• Trained NCT Breastfeeding Peer Supporter or equivalent with appropriate experience, or willing to train.

We have an opportunity for a Safeguarding Officer to join our very busy team!

The organisation has a strong safeguarding ethos promoting the overall safety, safeguarding and welfare of all of our members. We are seeking individuals who have experience of the voluntary youth or community sector or other relevant professional field and have direct practice experience of working with children & young people in a safeguarding context.  You will have excellent knowledge of the principles and practices of Early Help along with experience and knowledge of statutory requirements, and best practice guidance, relating to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults at risk.  

Our safeguarding team operates centrally in London where we are responsible for providing support, advice and guidance to our volunteers relating on all safeguarding matters across the UK. Our safeguarding Officers act as our lead professionals in managing safeguarding casework in line with our policy, procedures and statutory duty.

We aim high and strive for excellence in our practices to safeguard children, young people and adults at risk.  We are continually evolving and seeking ways to improve and enhance our safeguarding practices as we move forward.
