We have an opportunity to fill a brand-new role within the charity - a bid writer/fundraiser to research, design, write and submit detailed applications for capital and revenue funds to support our services. A lot of what we do is writing applications and reports for funders that need to be written in a way that tells a compelling story about our work, as well as being factually accurate and concise. As Senior Trusts and Grants Officer, your primary priority is to generate multi-year income for YoungMinds specifically from Trusts, Foundations and occasional Government funding i.e statutory sources.

This role is vital in implementing our vision to create a step change in YoungMinds’ fundraising.

Main duties and responsibilities

· With the guidance of the Supporter Fundraising Manager, devise, agree, deliver and be accountable for the area income budget, managing expenditure appropriately - to enable the NSPCC to plan its activity and services to grow fundraising income.

· To be responsible and accountable for the development of relationships with all supporters and deliver consistent high-quality stewardship and engagement programmes to retain existing and help grow new volunteer groups inspiring them to raise funds

· To identify new opportunities, to recruit and onboard new volunteers and fundraising groups

· To work with fundraisers and staff in other departments to maximise relationships with NSPCC supporters.

· Attend and speak at events and meetings, representing NSPCC when required.

· To complete monthly reports and ensure compliance with policy and procedures including safeguarding and EDI, always adhering to NSPCC values and behaviours.

We’re recruiting for an experienced Philanthropy Manager whose area of expertise securing multi-year, six-figure gifts from grant-making organisations; developing and managing a trusts and grants pipeline, including the application and reporting process, in order to build a reliable and sustainable income stream. The postholder will be responsible for all areas of trusts and grants fundraising, including writing compelling applications that solicit funding for Life’s vital work as well as reporting on our service delivery outcomes, maximising the opportunities for renewed funding. 

The Philanthropy Manager (Trusts, Grants and Foundations) will be responsible for delivering a strategic approach to trusts, grants and foundations; working with service delivery areas of the organisation as well as the finance department, in order to create compelling projects, with measurable outcomes that can be reported on. The postholder will be able to articulate these projects into cases for support within written applications, matching projects with appropriate funders and delivering a compelling ask. This role requires the development of a trusts, grants and foundations pipeline, from research through to reporting, ensuring a sustainable and maximised income stream.

New Partners and Funders:

· Identify and cultivate opportunities for new partnerships and funding streams.

· Develop compelling proposals for new partners in line with bid rules.

· Represent the organisation at events, leveraging networking opportunities to promote our mission.

Fundraising Development:

· Contribute to the ongoing development of the fundraising strategy.

· Create presentations to attract new funders.

· Generate leads and support the fundraising team in achieving their goals.

Account Management:

· Manage a portfolio of partners, ensuring effective communication and stewardship.

· Build strong, long-lasting relationships that advance the organisation's goals.

· Prepare and submit funding applications and reports in a timely manner.

· Collaborate with internal teams to ensure project delivery and reporting.

Essential:

· Proven experience in fundraising management, including bid writing and account management.

· Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and achieve KPIs.

· Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach.

· Proficiency in data analysis and financial management.

Desirable:

· Sector expertise in STEM, engineering, or computer science.

· Previous experience working in a charity fundraising role.

· Familiarity with contract management.
