Job description

Be the consistent, trusted presence who helps young people grow in confidence, leadership and belief in what’s possible.

YouthBuild Ventures UK (YBVUK) works alongside young people aged 16–25 who are furthest from opportunity. We combine leadership development, employability, wellbeing support and community action to create real pathways into work and long-term progress.

Our culture is rooted in Love, Accountability, Collaboration, Diversity and Leadership. These values shape how we hold boundaries, build trust and maintain high expectations every day.

We are now recruiting a Youth Development Officer to join our frontline programme team.

As a Youth Development Officer, you will build professional, trusting relationships with young people and deliver structured group sessions and mentoring that support personal growth, resilience and readiness for progression.

The Youth Development Officer plays a vital role in shaping positive programme culture — modelling consistency, safeguarding practice and values-led behaviour across all activity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver structured workshops and group sessions aligned to programme plans

  • Provide 1:1 mentoring using strengths-based and restorative approaches

  • Create inclusive, emotionally safe learning environments

  • Uphold safeguarding procedures and trauma-informed practice

  • Maintain accurate attendance, case notes and outcome tracking

  • Contribute to programme events, team reflection and continuous improvement

We’re looking for a Youth Development Officer who believes deeply in young people, communicates clearly, maintains strong professional boundaries and thrives in community-based environments.
