Rape Crisis South London are currently looking for a highly skilled and passionate professional Adult Counsellor to join our organisation on a part-time basis (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays).   

The successful candidate will have good knowledge within the Violence against Women and Girls (VAWG) movement; experience working with the effects of Trauma, especially Sexual abuse trauma; experience of providing counselling by using an intersectional lens and able to demonstrate an understanding of how overlapping identities shape women’s experiences of trauma, particularly those from Black and minoritised ethnic backgrounds.
 

The successful applicant will demonstrate knowledge and experience of working integrative, maintaining clear therapeutic boundaries and adhering to the ethical framework the organisation’s professional body. They will be skilled in applying a range of therapeutic approaches and committed to feminist and anti-racist principles and embedding these values into all aspects of their practice.  
 

The position is offered on a permanent ( subject to funding) part-time basis with 3 days in the office.

The Executive Director has overall responsibility for TOLFA UK’s fundraising, financial management, marketing and communications, and personnel, to implement its mission of providing vital and preventative healthcare to India’s ownerless animals and those belonging to low-income owners, as well as educating communities in their welfare and value

Responsibilities 

• Proactively diversify and sustainably increase TOLFA UK’s fundraising, such as: 

• Submitting grant proposals and reports to trusts and foundations 

• Cultivating individual donors and major donors 

• Using TOLFA UK’s donor database to raise funds more effectively 

• Collaborate with the Board of Trustees to develop the strategy of TOLFA UK, which will include becoming a more impactful organisation with increasing revenue and additional staff 

• Provide the vision and leadership to ensure the implementation of TOLFA UK’s strategy 

• Maintain excellent communication with the Board of Trustees, including providing monthly reports 

• Lead, motivate, and evaluate other staff, freelancers or consultants of TOLFA UK 

• Oversee TOLFA UK’s finances, collaborate with a bookkeeper to create and monitor budgets and ensure strong financial controls are in place, and promptly notify the Board of Trustees of any concerns. The Opportunity   

You’ll work closely with the Senior HR Officer to ensure the smooth running of the charity’s HR processes, playing a key role in providing largely administrative support for all aspects of the employee life cycle for the charity. 
 

From posting job adverts and preparing employment contracts to conducting pre-employment checks and completing leaving processes, you will ensure that our HR systems, processes and procedures are maintained appropriately. 

1. General HR  

• Work with the Senior HR Officer to provide HR administration for all aspects of the employee life-cycle from preparing employment contracts and collecting and assessing references, to completing leaving processes and reviewing exit questionnaires

We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Accountant to oversee the charity’s day-to-day financial management and reporting.

As part of our annual leave policy, all employees receive three additional days of annual leave on top of their standard allocation of 25 days. Role Purpose

We have been operating Volunteer Centre Newcastle (VCN) since 2005. The Volunteer Centre provides a wide range of support, around all things volunteering, to over 1200 charities, organisations, and groups locally. We also support 2500+ members of the public each year, who are interested in volunteering and need some support to get started.

As our Volunteer Centre Officer, you will play an important role in promoting and supporting volunteering across Newcastle. You will help more people get involved in volunteering and make sure that volunteering is valued and recognised across the city.

We are looking for someone who understands “good practice” around volunteering, can work flexibly, and who shows a strong commitment to our organisations values.

Working alongside the Volunteer Centre Manager, you will:

Support charities, organisations and groups in that involve volunteers

This includes giving advice on how to manage volunteers, helping them create and promote volunteer roles, supporting them to take on more volunteers, offering guidance on policies and processes, delivering training, taking part in volunteer network forums, and helping solve problems when needed.

Support people who want to volunteer, helping them take their next steps

You will talk with members of the public to understand their interests, goals, and any support needs. You will match them with suitable volunteering opportunities. You will offer information, advice, and guidance to help them get involved in volunteering across Newcastle through one-to-one appointments and in person events.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide effective support running a busy Volunteer Centre, working closely with various other stakeholders such as colleagues, volunteers, partners, Newcastle City Council and the public

• Supporting the Project Manager to manage a group of internal volunteers, ensuring they are valued and supported

• Supporting the city’s volunteering database which is hosted on VCN website, ensuring opportunities are kept up to date, and helping individuals to find and apply for a suitable role

• Provide a wide range of support to organisations or groups who involve volunteers  – providing advice on guidance on volunteering policies and practices, helping to identify and develop new volunteering roles, advertising roles, and more  

• Supporting the Project Manager to deliver organisational training, forums and networks

• Developing, designing, and publishing marketing and promotional materials related to Volunteer Centre Newcastle and distributing these in various locations across the city

• Provide effective support to ensure we have an appropriate, up to date and engaging website and social media channels. 

• Being a champion of volunteering, taking part in events, talks, or engaging with traditional media sources to promote volunteering, the benefits to individuals and organisations  

• Help to ensure the Volunteer Centre is delivered in line with Volunteering Matters organisational policies, including risk management, quality assurance and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion   

• Administrative tasks including the use of Office 365 and internal databases and files.

• Attending meetings and forums with other partners and Volunteer Centers locally, reporting back on our successes and challenges

• Ensuring monitoring, impact and evaluation information and data is collected and recorded, and that Volunteer Centre Newcastle meets its agreed targets, reporting format and schedule.  

Skills Required

• Excellent knowledge and understanding of “best practice” in all areas of Volunteer Management

• Excellent people skills, able to build professional, long-term relationships with various stakeholders, to influence and motivate others  

• Excellent organisational skills including strong attention to detail, the ability to manage a busy workload and prioritise effectively

Just Finance Foundation (JFF) is working towards lifelong financial wellbeing for all. The Education team’s focus is encouraging the uptake of financial education in primary schools. We work to train the teachers to be able to deliver financial education and help them build it into their curriculum.

The Financial Education Delivery Coordinator position at Just Finance Foundation (JFF) is an exciting opportunity to participate in the delivery of new resources that will ensure children can access the education they need to manage money well in the future. The Financial Education team is at the forefront of Financial Education in the UK. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced and innovative education professional to make a significant contribution to the future wellbeing of our children and communities.

What the role looks like

The Financial Education Coordinator will be responsible for recruiting and onboarding schools to embed our free financial education resources into primary school classrooms in the central belt of Scotland. You will have an excellent understanding of the challenges and pressures that exist within a primary school environment. You will be able to generate enthusiasm for financial education, as well as develop strong relationships with schools and other project collaborators. You will achieve this by proactively researching, networking, and making connections with schools. You will speak to stakeholders, including teachers and school leadership, to promote our programme. Once they have registered, you will then train the teachers and school staff on how to incorporate our resources flexibly into their classrooms. The Financial Education Delivery Coordinator will need to work flexibly with each school to best meet their needs, according to our policies and guidelines. Reporting the progress of the various programmes is a key part of the role and the ability to collate data, identify risks, and meet deadlines is vital.

Crucial to the role is a willingness to be part of a wider project team, an ability to adapt and respond to change, and a belief in the impact that we can make to young people.

The Volunteer Coordinator we are looking for will enjoy this unique opportunity to grow and develop our current volunteer work into a thriving and sustainable programme. Our large Cadbury family home with five acres of beautiful grounds is a retreat centre for justice, reconciliation and peace and, as a result of this role, will become a fantastic space for volunteers to flourish while supporting the physical place, vision and work of the charity.

Our current volunteer work includes a small group of local individuals who meet for a monthly volunteer days to work on the grounds and maintenance, and who support our retreat and fundraising events. A relationship with BT has enabled us to begin to offer voluntary opportunities for their local staff and this area is ready to be developed. Volunteers of all faiths and none are invited, but not required, to participate in the rhythm of prayer at the house, and all have the opportunity to hear about the vision and work as part of their experience with us. To work with our bookings a development plan may look like a more regular midweek volunteer day, a regular Sunday volunteer day and a schedule of individual volunteering tasks to be undertaken when staff are onsite during the week.

This post is initially funded for one year. If the role proves fruitful The Greenhouse will seek grant funding to extend it; however, continuation beyond the first year cannot be guaranteed.

The Volunteer Coordinator is a new and developmental role within The Greenhouse at Barnes Close.
