The Fundraising, Communications, Retail Team & Reception
The Team is responsible for fundraising for the charitable work of Mothers’ Union and for communicating our work internally and externally in various formats and media platforms, resourcing dioceses, building membership, and providing a first point of contact for all callers and visitors to Mothers’ Union.
The Role
The successful candidate will primarily work with the Fundraising, Communications, Retail Team and perform Reception duties.
This role is a permanent Contract, 4 days a week . The role is based at our head office in Central London. Since this is a 100% office based role, no home working option is available.

Main Responsibilities
Reception Duties
- Ensure a high levels of customer service is always maintained.
- To ensure reception area is well-maintained, tidy and presentable at all times.
- Call handling and redirection.
- Greeting visitors; providing face to face information and signposting.
- Greeting conference delegates; ensuring they are signed in, have relevant security badges, and information regarding allocation of meeting rooms and their location.
- To update the meeting rooms’ presentation notices and door signs as necessary.
- To liaise with the Conference & Facilities team to arrange any on-the-spot meeting room requests or other enquiries.
- To receive visitors of Mary Sumner House tenants and informing the relevant tenant of visitor’s arrival.
- Ensure all visitors observe the necessary security and health & safety procedures, including the visitors log.
- Maintain building security by following safety procedures and controlling access via the reception desk.
- Receive, sort and distribute post/deliveries.
- Organise the mailing out of letters and parcels as required.
- To assist the Conference & House Co-ordinator and Conference Facilities Technician when needed.
- In the absence of the Conference & House Co-ordinator, to cover the bookings and administration of meeting rooms, liaise with the facilities team to ensure meeting rooms are set up as required and refreshments and a/v equipment are in place and operational.
- To provide general administrative and coordination support related to the building and teams across the organisation.
Membership/Supporter Care and Income Processing
- Be the first point of contact for retailby phone, letter or email and responding to these in a timely manner.
- Ensure high levels of customer service are always maintained.
- To acknowledge all fundraising income received from various sources (cheques, cash, online giving).
- To provide retail external fulfilment providers with information and support required to enable them to meet their fulfilment KPI of 1 to 3 working days, reporting any issues to the retail manager.
- To carry out retail administration duties including but not limited to the processing of all information relating to the organisational finance system.
Fundraising, Data and Database
- Support with the administration, booking, planning and delivery of income generating events.
- Produce materials to support community fundraising activity in line with agreed appeals and events.
- To work alongside the Database Manager to maintain the data architecture and quality of the database at all times.
General
- To manage the bookings diary for Mothers’ Union’s displays and banners.
- Provide administrative support to the Director of Fundraising, Communications and Retail around team meetings.
- To actively be involved in any projects undertaken by the team and contribute as required or directed by the Director of Fundraising, Communications and Retail.
- To contribute to team meetings and organisational priorities.
- To provide general administrative and coordination support related to the building and teams across the organisation.
Skills & Experience
- Experience of working within an office or customer service environment is essential.
- Experience of working with Excel is essential.
- Working within the Charity sector is desirable.

- Experience of working at a reception will be an advantage.

At Purposeful, communications is political. It is how we amplify girls’ voices, sharpen feminist narratives, and push back against regressive agendas. The Communications Director will sit at the heart of this work - shaping and delivering a bold communications strategy aligned with Purposeful’s vision, mission, and growth.
This role leads the stewardship of Purposeful’s voice, visual identity, and storytelling practice, ensuring that everything we produce - whether op-eds, reports, campaigns, or digital content - carries our politics with clarity and conviction. The Communications Director will work closely with the Co-CEOs and across all Purposeful teams, including Advocacy, grant-making, Learning & Insights, Programmes, and Resource Mobilisation, to amplify girls’ organising, showcase our impact, and influence the broader philanthropic and activist ecosystem.
This is both a strategic and hands-on role, requiring a deep commitment to feminist movements, an instinct for storytelling as political practice, and a proven track record of positioning organisations on the global stage.
SCOPE OF WORK
1. Communications Strategy & Leadership

Lead on delivery and implementation of a new communications strategy, building on 2025 planning foundations.

Work closely with the Co-CEOs and director team to horizon scan and adapt strategy in response to organisational vision and external landscape.

Provide leadership to a small team of staff and consultants (designers, digital specialists, artists) and work collaboratively with partner communications leads on joint campaigns and initiatives.

Meticulously manage and forecast the communications and editorial budget, ensuring value for money and strong planning.

2. Storytelling & Content Development

We are looking for a Grand Challenges Coordinator (Social Enterprise) to support the delivery of a Grand Challenges-aligned social innovation pathway at UCL, enabling students to create innovative solutions to the world’s most pressing social issues.
The role is a full-time and fixed term contract for 24 months. This role is based at our Bloomsbury campus with flexibility to work from home on a 40/60 basis (40% working from the office).
Duties and Responsibilities
- To coordinate and develop social enterprise activities, connecting students with the local Social Enterprise sector
- Work with the Social Enterprise Manager to support a caseload of Grand Challenges-themed student enterprise projects, including project-related finance, providing guidance and supervision
- To provide 1:1 and group support to any student, including Club and Societies members, who want to develop their own business with social impact, in one of the Grand Challenges themes.
- To coordinate and develop high quality well attended events
- To ensure we get accurate participation data about student enterprise, working with the manager to enable KPI reporting
- To collaborate with social enterprise staff across the university landscape and experts to ensure student activities meet a genuine need and will have social impact
- Support the Social Enterprise Manager to coordinate a network of local businesses, non profits, and government agencies to support the growth and sustainability of social enterprise ventures
- With leadership from the Social Enterprise Manager, collect and manage data accurately to enable impact measurement and data insights to continuously improve and refine the programme

The Woodland Trust is looking for a Campaigns Manager - Regular Giving Recruitment to deliver membership marketing activity that supports the Trust’s ambitious growth targets, recruiting new supporters to help us reach 1.2m members by 2030.
The Role:
- You’ll lead on digital recruitment campaigns across paid, organic and emerging channels, creating engaging content and optimising performance in real time.
- You’ll manage and improve the membership recruitment pages on the Woodland Trust website, using data and testing to maximise conversions.
- You will analyse and report on campaign results, sharing insights and recommendations with colleagues to drive continuous improvement.
- You’ll collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver integrated and effective marketing activity across all channels.
- You will oversee budgets, supplier relationships and administrative processes, ensuring campaigns are delivered efficiently and effectively.

- This is a 13-month fixed term contract
- This role includes a mix of working from home and at our main office in Grantham, Lincolnshire. Visits to Grantham would be required no more than once a month on average.

We are looking for candidates who have the following: - Management of campaign delivery including working with creative and content teams to produce the necessary assets for the marketing activity
- Excellent digital marketing management skills and a strong awareness of the platforms and channels used to deliver effective marketing campaigns.
- Experience in delivering marketing campaigns end-to-end, ideally within a charity or not-for-profit environment, with a solid grasp of acquisition across multiple digital channels.
- You are confident managing budgets and understand key financial benchmarks such as CPA, ROI and LTV.
- You thrive in a “test and learn” culture, using data and insight to inform decisions and optimise performance.
- You have strong analytical skills, with experience using Google Analytics, PPC, Google Grants and social media monitoring tools to evaluate and improve campaigns.
- You are skilled in building productive relationships with suppliers, agencies and internal teams, ensuring campaigns run smoothly and deliver results.

This is primarily delivered by Support Groups and Sands United football teams run by dedicated volunteers right across the UK, most of whom are bereaved themselves. There are 84 Groups and 40 Sands United team across the UK who provide safe and welcoming spaces to be there for each other.
This is a high-profile and exciting new role which is responsible for ensuring that anyone affected by baby loss or the death of a baby has the chance to access Sands peer led activities in Scotland, promoting sport and activities for health, wellbeing and support services and groups, ensuring that all sections of the community are aware of available activities and where they can go to be part of the community.
We are looking for successful, demonstrable experience of working with minoritised communities and a good working understanding of the barriers people experience accessing bereavement support and care in statutory, health and community settings.
