Job description

We are looking for an Internal Communications Specialist to start ASAP until the end of the year.

The charity need an experienced interim to strengthen internal comms and engagement capacity to deliver major strategic projects. This role is focused on leadership of effective internal communications to support the launch of a new organisational strategy and integration of a live brand refresh programme. The postholder will lead the design, coordination, and delivery of impactful communications and engagement plans aligned to identified organisational priorities.

The role is part time, 3 days a week. The charity is happy to do this on a day rate. 

Hybrid working, with onsite presence as required, including London head office and regional teams. 

The Charity:

Key focus of the contract:
Shape and direct an internal comms and engagement strategy which enables effective implementation of the new organisational strategy, working closely with executive leaders. 
Work with People and Brand leads to lead integration of the refreshed brand work into internal comms plans to drive engagement. 
Develop, coordinate and evaluate practical communications and engagement initiatives in line with strategy and brand plans, including messaging, campaigns, materials, and events. 
Ensure that comms and engagement activity is inclusive and tailored to meet the of the charity’s diverse internal audiences. 
Build positive stakeholder relationships, navigating and negotiating competing priorities in a complex environment. 

Candidate:
Senior  internal communications and engagement leadership experience in a large, complex organisation (charity experience desirable but not essential). 
Proven interim/contract track record, or evidence of delivering at pace on short-term projects within substantive roles. 
Demonstrated success in leading major comms projects such as strategy launches, brand refreshes, or organisational change programmes. 
Strong ability to design and lead communications strategies and plans, taking accountability for delivery and outcomes. 
Skilled at coordinating and delivering complex communications initiatives across multiple channels and audiences. 
Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, including working at executive and senior leadership level.
