About us:

Combat Stress is the UK's leading mental health charity for veterans. For over a century we've been helping former service personnel deal with issues like post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety and depression. Today we provide specialist treatment and support for veterans from every service and conflict, focusing on those with complex mental health issues related to their military service. We provide a range of community, outpatient and residential mental health services to veterans with complex mental health problems. We provide services in-person and online.

About the role:

Join Combat Stress as our new Community Fundraising and Volunteer Manager and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our fundraising and volunteer engagement across the UK.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team. In this newly created role, you will be a key member of the Fundraising team, responsible for developing and delivering a dynamic community fundraising and volunteer strategy.

You'll lead the expansion of our community fundraising activity-growing existing products and launching new initiatives to drive income and engagement. You'll also manage our national volunteer programme, recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers to ensure they are empowered, valued, and aligned with our mission.

As a manager, you will lead community and volunteer-led campaigns, working closely with supporters to maximise fundraising opportunities and deepen engagement. With a focus on excellent stewardship and supporter experience, you will play a crucial role in increasing participation and retention.

You'll also inspire and manage a small team of two, providing direction, motivation, and support to help them to achieve their goals.

This role will be subject to DBS check.

What we offer:

You will work within a reputable charity that is constantly evolving to meet the needs of our veterans, that has a fantastic cause and a committed follower base.

In addition, we offer the following benefits:

  • 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays, with an additional increase to 30 days annual leave upon 5 years continuous service
