Alliance Publishing Trust (APT) aims to facilitate the exchange of ideas among people in philanthropy working for social change. We aspire to contribute to building an effective, accountable and thriving philanthropy field by being a ‘critical friend’ to philanthropy worldwide.
To do this we produce Alliance magazine, the leading quarterly publication for philanthropy and social investment worldwide and respected in the sector for thirty years. Each issue provides a special in-depth feature on a key aspect of philanthropy and social investment, with contributors from around the world and expert guest editors as well as interviews, news and book reviews.
We also produce over 700 items of digital content per year: providing premium interviews and articles published exclusively every Tuesday; daily free-to-read news, conference reports and a space for thinking, debate and peer exchange among philanthropy practitioners worldwide; weekly coverage of climate and gender philanthropy, monthly columns and more. In addition to written content, we convene 24 events a year to discuss the latest topics in philanthropy with speakers and attendees across the globe.
With a core staff team based in London, valued freelance support and a team of representatives around the world, we work with the leading organisations and practitioners worldwide to deliver our charitable mission. Opportunity
As Alliance celebrates its 30th anniversary we are currently seeking a curious, motivated and collaborative individual to join us in the new role of Director of Philanthropy Knowledge. This externally-facing senior role would suit experienced candidates with a passionate interest in philanthropy and with a truly global mindset. Candidates should be eager to both learn about and examine philanthropic giving in all forms and in all contexts.
Building on the strong position of the organisation you will play a key role in shaping the organisational strategy and direction in the years ahead through the knowledge and insights you will develop and maintain. To excel in this role, you will need to be able to forge positive professional relationships with senior leaders, both at large global institutions and small grassroots organisations.
Summary of main duties and responsibilities
The Director of Philanthropy Knowledge’s principal responsibilities are to keep up-to-date with the developments of the global philanthropy sector; be a proactive knowledge resource for the editorial team; build and maintain a strong network of relationships with key individuals and organisations on every continent; and to work with the Executive Director on generating philanthropic funding and support in line with APT’s strategy.
Knowledge
- Develop expansive knowledge of the global philanthropy sector, the people and organisations in that space, and to keep up with the latest trends and developments
- Maintain this knowledge through reading, research and global event attendance
- Ensure that this knowledge is built on hearing from a broad range of diverse voices and perspectives
- Share this knowledge with the in-house editorial team to help shape the editorial strategy, the publication’s understanding of the sector, and the Alliance event programme
- Share this knowledge with the sector through commentary including written contributions for Alliance and speaking at sector events
Relationship building
- Build and maintain a strong network of relationships with key individuals and organisations on every continent

General

About the role
Sightsavers are looking for an experienced Project Finance Officer to support the Digital Futures Programme. As the Project Finance Officer, you will manage the day-to-day financial operations, donor compliance, partner oversight, and ensure alignment with programme objectives.
Further responsibilities include:
Donor Budget Management and Reporting

Preparation and maintenance of the Project Budget to ensure data is complete and maintained on a timely basis.

Work with the project team to ensure that all donor-related information is disseminated to project, finance, and logistics staff as well as partners to enable them to abide by donor rules and regulations.

In coordination with project staff and partners, prepare and regularly update the spending plan.
Financial Management:

Prepare monthly budget versus actual reports and send to the Programme Manager and to other relevant staff.

Capture and review transactions in AMC monthly to ensure they are correctly coded and accurately captured with clear descriptions.

Ensure financial reports are produced in compliance with Donor’s exchange rate policies, including keeping track of expenditure in currencies other than GBP and identifying the rate at which they need to be converted into GBP.
Partner Financial Reporting:

Ensure partners report as per the required reporting template for both internal and donor formats.

Review and coordinate the consolidation of partner financial reports.

Undertake quarterly financial monitoring visits to partners to review internal control processes and provide capacity building in procurement, reporting and compliance and other areas of weakness.

Skills and Experience
As the successful candidate you will possess a relevant professional accounting qualification and a bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting. You will have working experience in a similar role, ideally within and INGO environment, including a background in managing grants/contracts from institutional donors and Foundations, and have experience in financial review and compliance for public institutions and OPDs.

Role Overview
As the Youth Service Manager, you will lead KCBNA’s youth provision for young people within the KCBNA youth centre, King’s Cross and surrounding areas. Key responsibilities
Event & Comms Coordination
- Support the end-to-end coordination of online and in-person events, e.g. setting up online meetings, booking in-person venues, sending invites, collecting feedback. These events include:

- Our Funders Collective events that bring funders together to exchange ideas and explore how funding can drive deeper impact.

Programmes

The Director is the senior leader of Firefly International, responsible for driving the charity’s mission to support war-affected children through the provision of education, mental health and peacebuilding programmes delivered in genuine partnership with our overseas partners. This is a hands-on leadership role within a small, donation-dependent charity, suited to an adaptable all-rounder who is motivated to lead growth and change rather than maintain the status quo. Firefly has a good track record and a good reputation and has both the will and the capacity to do more and do better, for the children it exists to serve. To do that, it needs to recruit the right Director.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Essential:
- Experience in fundraising from individuals, charitable trusts and foundations, and companies: developing successful grant proposals, managing implementation of grants and reporting to funders
- Experience of working in a small charity
- Experience in organisational strategy development and implementation

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Director’s role is to lead Firefly International in its mission to safeguard, extend and develop the activities conducted by its overseas partners. Within that over-arching goal, to:
- Provide strategic leadership in collaboration with the Chair of the Trustee Board
- Secure sufficient funding to sustain long-term growth
- Manage existing partnerships in overseas project areas and build new ones, overseas and in the UK, in response to any new opportunities to meet the needs of war-affected children where we have relevant experience to offer.
- Lead and support the staff team and any volunteers
- Represent Firefly International as an ambassador for the organisation, its partners and more broadly for war-affected children
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership & Growth
- Lead Firefly’s strategic direction in Scotland, ensuring alignment with the charity’s mission and values
- Build Firefly’s visibility, credibility, and influence with its key stakeholders.
Income Generation
- Strengthen existing funder relationships and develop new funding opportunities
- Develop a compelling case for support
Stakeholder Engagement
- Represent Firefly at events and within networks relevant to its mission and objectives
- Build our supporter base and opportunities for engagement
Communications
- Ensure production of a high quality Annual Review and newsletters
- Take prime responsibility for the website as an attractive, user-friendly communications tool and mechanism for giving
- Extend and develop our social media presence, ensuring high quality content.
Financial Management and Compliance
- Work with the Treasurer and Finance and Admin Officer to develop budgets and manage expenditure against them, providing accurate and timely information for the Board.
- Work with the independent examiner to facilitate a smooth process of examination of the annual accounts
- Ensure that Firefly remains fully compliant with all statutory authorities such as OSCR and that statutory reports and accounts are produced and filed to time.

Ascension Eagles Cheerleaders (AEC) is a youth charity east London; we are one of the UK’s top competitive cheerleading programmes, operating out of our "Talent Central" gym in Newham. Founded in 1996, our mission is to empower young people to reach their full potential, regardless of their background, ability or economic circumstances.
We supplement our sport programmes with mentoring, educational activities and leadership training - everything we do is about helping young people to develop life skills, confidence and positive values (consistency; integrity; perseverance; persistence) to help them become the best that they can be.

What you will be responsible for as our Fundraising Manager:
- Developing a clear fundraising framework and working with our trustees to shape our fundraising strategy
- Researching and securing funding from trusts, foundations, corporate partners and relevant networks
- Writing strong, persuasive funding applications and engaging impact reports
- Building and stewarding long-term relationships with funders, potential partners, businesses and networks, and exploring opportunities for collaboration

This new role at Young Sounds UK will lead on securing grant income from and coordinating relationships with Trusts and Foundations. This will include identifying and researching funders, submitting compelling applications and completing timely and accurate reports.

About the Role
Fundraising and philanthropic advocacy are at the heart of GiveOut’s work. As Philanthropy Coordinator, you will be a key member of the Philanthropy team, supporting our philanthropy programme and working closely with the Head of Philanthropy and Senior Philanthropy Officers.
