“Please note we require a Male Outreach Worker due to a genuine occupational requirement for the persons we are supporting. This position is therefore exempt under schedule 9, part 1,  paragraph 1 of the Equality Act 2010”

Ageing Better Camden is looking for a male Outreach Worker to contribute to a new Outreach project with the ABC Outreach Service, to trial innovative approaches to reaching, initiating contact and engaging with significant numbers of older men across Camden.  A key focus of the role will be to build knowledge of and test and learn approaches to creating and bringing isolated older men together through informal male social hubs such as pubs, cafes, and gyms. The Outreach Worker will proactively search for isolated men out in their communities via street outreach, door knocking, visiting pubs, bookmakers and gyms. They will seek opportunities to link isolated men to social opportunities, formal activities and informal social hubs working alongside the Outreach team and ABC delivery partners to make this happen.  They will have excellent communication skills, a genuine interest in people and a commitment to reduce social isolation for older people.
