Job Purpose
Sitting within BSR’s exciting External Affairs & Audit team the Clinical Audit Administrator plays a crucial role in supporting the on-going work of the National Early Inflammatory Arthritis Audit (NEIAA) to gather evidence and drive up the quality of care for patients living with inflammatory arthritis. With touch points across the Rheumatology community, the NHS and health regulators, the NEIAA project is an essential tool in achieving this part of our five-year strategy. At a busy and important time for the NEIAA project this is a fantastic opportunity for those looking to develop their organisational, project management and stakeholder relation skills as we work towards producing our 6th ‘State of the Nation’ report and securing an extension of the Audit contract.
Main responsibilities
- To provide administrative support to the NEIAA project manager such as setting up business processes, engaging with stakeholders and managing the audit mailbox as the first point of contact.

The role

Head to Toe, the charity of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust (CPFT), has been awarded a 3-year grant to support patients receiving end of life care. This is a partnership between Head to Toe, CPFT voluntary services, NHS community nursing teams, and charity end of life volunteering specialists, the Anne Robson Trust.
Working alongside healthcare services, you will co-ordinate a group of compassionate, dedicated volunteers, who will support members of their local community in the last months of life, providing company, comfort and companionship to patients across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.
You may have experience in similar projects, or come from a clinical background, but will understand and champion the role of volunteers in enhancing NHS services and patient experiences. You will be passionate about this type of work, and understand the importance of helping people to have a 'good' death.
The successful candidate will need experience within volunteer administration in addition to excellent organisational, communication and networking skills. Bespoke training will be provided by the Anne Robson Trust, as well as ongoing support to help the post-holder recruit and train volunteers.
The Butterfly Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for the development, implementation, and scale of the Community Butterfly Volunteer Service, which can bring huge benefits to patients, staff, volunteers, and our local communities. What the job involves
This is an exciting new role in Prostate Cancer UK’s Health Information and Clinical Support team. The team delivers a wide range of high-quality services directly to anyone affected by prostate cancer or prostate disease, as well as supporting a range of activity charity-wide that requires clinical expertise.
Many men, and their friends and family, don’t know the risk factors of prostate cancer – and when they do, they don’t know what to do next. We want a world where every man over 45 in the UK understands their risk of prostate cancer and has the tools and information to navigate it. Our online risk checker is a good place to start, but this role will be a crucial additional source of information for men and their loved ones.
As a Risk Information Officer, you’ll deliver the charity’s pilot Risk Information Service, providing information and support to men at risk of prostate cancer, and their loved ones, via the telephone. This is a non-clinical role, but you’ll discuss callers’ risk of prostate cancer along the lines of the predominant risk factors (age, ethnicity, family history and BRCA gene status). If necessary, you’ll also support them to seek a PSA blood test from their GP and on occasion routing callers who have more complex clinical questions back to the Specialist Nurse service.
You’ll play a key role in developing the pilot – contributing to conversations and decisions around how to adjust and improve the service in its early months. You’ll also report back on your calls, to help the charity develop its broader understanding of information and support needs when it comes to prostate cancer risk and the PSA blood test.
Reporting into the Clinical Services Senior Officer, you’ll have close and regular contact with assigned Specialist Nurses so that you feel at ease in sharing prostate cancer related information with callers, and in maintaining the boundaries and scope of the service day-to-day.
This is a service pilot with the Risk Information Officer role being a fixed term for the duration, with the potential to make the role permanent based on the pilot’s success.
What we want from you
You’ll be a compassionate and resilient communicator; you may be speaking to a caller who is anxious about their risk of prostate cancer. You’ll be a great listener, hearing callers concerns and offering a supportive and empathetic response. Although this is a non-clinical role, with your existing understanding of the healthcare system in the UK, you’ll be willing to learn the basic knowledge of prostate cancer and use the appropriate associated terminology.
You’ll be comfortable in handling more complex conversations, but with self-awareness to recognise your limitations in offering support and recognising clear boundaries of guidance being provided and be able to direct to our Specialist Nurses when needed.
Experience in using a CRM system will be advantageous in this role and any experience with a helpline or providing support or information over the phone will be beneficial in your role.

Purpose of the position

Job description
The Capacity Development unit seeks a Capacity Development Officer to support the implementation of the Our Views, Our Voices initiative, specifically the emerging capacity development work on equity. The Our Views, Our Voices initiative is a flagship initiative of the NCDA and people living with NCDs dedicated to promoting the meaningful involvement of people living with NCDs in the NCD response, supporting and enabling individuals to share their views to take action and drive change. It seeks to break down stigma and discrimination, equipping people living with NCDs with the skills, knowledge, and opportunities to be change agents at local and global levels.
Designing equitable solutions for NCDs requires reaching those left furthest behind, adopting rights-based approaches, and applying principles of meaningful involvement of people living with NCDs to redress power imbalances. Putting people and communities at the centre allows to identify how different drivers and lived experiences interact and to identify solutions to the barriers faced in accessing care across the continuum and in achieving equity.
NCDA recently published an NCD Equity Framework to provide community advocates with an introduction to what health equity means in the context of NCDs and adding an equity lens to advocacy on NCDs. It identifies eight priority areas for advancing health equity for NCDs addressing common barriers to equity. To accompany the Framework NCDA has produced a Practical Guide. To support civil society and community advocates operationalize a health equity lens for NCD advocacy, NCDA has developed an accompanying Practical Guide for NCD Community Advocates. This guides advocates to develop an NCD Equity Report using an NCD Health Equity Assessment Tool to establish a foundation for advocacy efforts in this area.
The Capacity Development Officer will support the roll-out of the equity work with national alliances via a new grant to support national alliances conduct an NCD equity assessment, produce an NCD equity report and add an equity lens to advocacy efforts in-country to support more equitable NCD responses and ensure the most vulnerable populations are reached. The role will strengthen capacity of national alliances by supporting the delivery of training on equity and broader Our Views, Our Voices training. The role will also provide support to global advocacy and accountability efforts ensuring close linkages with national level work on the theme of equity.

- Responsibility for researching Trusts and Corporate Foundations in alignment with a wide variety of projects and appeals that address the needs of BTH
- Developing high-quality bids/applications/cases for support for a variety of funders
- Managing stewardship activities for Trusts and Corporate Foundations, including tracking of reports and payments

- Develop and manage processes for corporate foundation grants to ensure appropriate banking, thanking, reporting and stewardship is undertaken for all corporate foundation grants.
- Create compelling, high-quality applications that meet the unique expectations of corporate supporters.
- Develop regular activity reports and updates on donor funded activities that clearly indicate progress and impact
- Use, update and develop the CRM database to record approach and grant information, meaningful activities and learning, and to generate portfolio management reports.
- Work collaboratively with the Charity Team to develop and implement engagement and stewardship plans in alignment with existing corporate giving plans, including special events.
- Host visits to BTH by donors or Trustees, ensuring the visit maximises the opportunity to improve the relationship.
- Engage with colleagues across the Trust to identify success and excellence stories to share with our supporters.
- Produce materials such as Impact Reports, website information, Cases for Support and Newsletters appropriate for Major Donors and Trusts with support of the Communications team.
- Ensure that all written communications and materials produced comply with design standards; brand guidelines and appropriate legislation (e.g. style guides, document templates, legal wordings, charities legislation requirements etc).

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Evidence of high-levels of numeracy and literacy and good general level of education
- Degree qualification, in relevant business-related subject, or equivalent experience to degree level
Desirable criteria
- Externally accredited qualification such as IoF Foundation in Fundraising Practice
- Fundraising specific training to degree level, e.g. proposal writing, negotiation skills etc., or equivalent experience
Experience
Essential criteria
- A proven track record of meeting or exceeding fundraising income targets by writing bids and securing medium value gifts (£10k-£150k) within a Trusts and/or Major Donor Fundraising environment
- Experience researching prospects, including Trusts/Foundations and major donors, and managing data/prospects within a CRM system
- Knowledge of GDPR/data protection laws
- Self-motivated and self-directing; strong time management skills; strong attention to detail; flexible; and honest, with a high degree of personal integrity.
- High emotional intelligence and exceptional interpersonal skills: a ‘people person’. Be able to empathise with people’s stated needs and emotional drivers.
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of fundraising trends and experience conducting market research
- Experience of fundraising within a complex organisatione.g. NHS, university etc.
- Experience of fundraising for medical/health related projects.
