The Partnerships Project Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of the non-funder partnerships projects in line with cost/time/quality requirements.
You will be an accomplished project manager, with a high degree of business acumen and substantial experience of setting up and delivering projects working with and through multiple stakeholders and partners. This position requires a methodical thinker with excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills and a proven track record in project management and reporting.
The Policy Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping and advancing our policy agenda to ensure people affected by dementia benefit from progress in research. By leveraging expertise in policy analysis, advocacy, and stakeholder engagement, the Policy Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic policy initiatives that influence government decisions, public health priorities and research funding.
The post-holder will collaborate with a variety of stakeholders, including policymakers, researchers, clinicians, and people with lived experience of dementia to help make the case for increased investment in dementia research, advocate for more accessible routes to diagnosing and treating dementia and prepare health systems to be ready for future dementia treatments.
Main duties and responsibilities of the role:
Policy development
· Develop and manage programmes of work on key strategic policy areas that position ARUK as a key influencer both nationally and internationally. This may include the commissioning of external evidence generation.
· Provide expertise on the relevant evidence, insight, and policy context to enable the development of new innovative policy ideas and solutions that deliver on our strategic priorities.
· Manage the development of substantial and credible policy outputs, including briefings, reports, submissions to government departments and their agencies, parliamentary committees, and other UK and international organisations as appropriate.
· Work with the communications team to ensure our policy work is disseminated to our key audiences via a range of appropriate channels to maximise our reach and impact.
· Develop and maintain mechanisms to keep abreast of the policy environment.
· Analyse, interpret and make judgements on complex project activities, delegating and managing the policy advisors to achieve set deliverables through their management of day-to-day activities. As Policy and Public Affairs works in a matrix structure this may include managing deliverables with policy advisors across the team.
· Support the join-up between projects and across the wider team to ensure shared knowledge and the opportunity to maximise influence and impact.
Stakeholder engagement and management
· Develop and manage stakeholder engagement of key policy contacts.
· Actively promote patient and public involvement in the development and delivery of projects.
· Work with Public Affairs colleagues to strengthen existing and emerging relationships with political and other parliamentary stakeholders to maximise the impact of our policy work.
· Attend external working groups and help develop partnerships beneficial to ARUK.
· Work with other charities to ensure ARUK is playing a leadership role in shaping government medical research policy.
Research and data analysis
· Oversee the analysis of necessary data and understanding, working with other ARUK colleagues, to produce accurate, timely and insightful policy materials, briefings and media stories.
Line Management Responsibilities
· Line manage and develop a Policy Advisor, providing coaching, mentoring and performance management as appropriate.
· Work with Senior Policy Manager and other Managers to support our team mission, wider team development and our commitment to excellence.

Additional Information:
Ways of working: As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

We are seeking a Helpline and Support Manager to lead our dedicated MND Connect helpline team. This vital service is there to ensure that people affected by MND are informed, supported, and better equipped to manage their condition. No two enquiries are the same and the service offers tailored support and guidance.
As the Helpline and Support Manager, you will guide and inspire a diverse team of staff and volunteers. Your leadership will be crucial in ensuring our helpline operates effectively and meets the needs of service users. This includes providing support to those living with a brain tumour diagnosis, their family and their friends. As part of our services team, you will ensure we engage all groups including those disadvantaged and less heard from, championing the voices of our wider community to grow our involvement network. You will also collaborate with those professionally committed to the cause, including our research community, to ensure that people affected by brain tumours have the chance to both shape and participate in research opportunities. You will be responsible for measuring and sharing the difference we are making through the delivery and analysis of our Improving Brain Tumour Care Surveys, empowering the community to identify the gaps in treatment and care experiences, so we can make a difference where it matters most.

Key accountabilities:
· Grow the involvement of the community in driving development of The Charity’s work including support, campaigns, fundraising, research and strategy
· Develop the involvement strategy and engage teams across the organisation to maximise the use of involvement
· Promote, advise on, and facilitate involvement activities including but not limited to focus groups, workshops and developing and undertaking surveys
· Collaborate with our Research team, contributing to the design and implementation of policies relating to research involvement

The Role
The fundraising team at Kidney Care UK have been incredibly successful from only being established 8 years ago, with the last 2.5 years being exponential in growth, they now have ambitious plans to treble their income in three years to sustain the growth and to continue to support kidney patients who need help and support.
This role will oversee and develop the charity's community fundraising and trade revenues, with a target of £266,000 for 2024. While fostering significant engagement with community supporters and fundraisers, you will lead a dedicated team of two within the Community and Trade team. You will work closely with the incredibly passionate and ambitious Director Of Fundraising, who will support you through the programmes.
Your responsibilities include raising awareness of community fundraising program and creating a 'best-in-class' stewardship program to cultivate new and existing relationships with supporters, volunteer groups, organizations, and partners to maximize income and elevate the charity's profile.
Responsibilities:
Community fundraising
* Design and implement a stewardship programme that converts interest into support and maximises fundraised income whilst developing lasting relationships.
* Introduce fundraising opportunities to our existing and potential supporters through a multi-channelled marketing strategy to grow levels of engagement and participation.
* Grow non-monetary donations as part of the community fundraising portfolio of events.
* Support the Head of Fundraising in designing new and developing existing community fundraising opportunities.
* Market and promote the calendar of community events to existing and potential supporters and wider to grow levels of engagement and participation.
* Support the Head of Fundraising to design and develop the community events and engagement fundraising calendar to potentially include bespoke, charity place, promoted and reactive events.
* Lead on the creation and implementation of a digital community fundraising programme, focusing of mass participation, low barrier to entry activities.
* Lead on the management and innovation of our trade fundraising income.
Database and process management
* Work with the Head of Fundraising to ensure all recording, banking and stewardship processes are up to date and working across the fundraising team, wider charity (finance, data and marketing and communications) and in accordance with current laws and regulations.
* Record all community and trade income and thank community donors and supporters as per the agreed process.
* Work with the Head of Fundraising to produce regular feedback reports and analysis on specific community products and overall revenue.

Key Responsibilities
Supporter Experience and journey best practices
- Identify and improve key pain points in existing supporter journeys; making recommendations for improvements that colleagues can implement and support them on how to measure and report back on those changes.
- Support on measuring supporter satisfaction and testing outputs with supporters.
- Support fundraising colleagues to implement supporter journeys and stewardship programmes across the portfolio to maximise net income and retention of supporters.
- Lead the annual supporter experience and journeys audit, facilitating process discovery workshops to identify pain points and make recommendations on improvements to wider stakeholders and monitor the improvement progress.
- Deliver process maps for all supporter journeys, ensuring they are monitored and kept up to date.

Driving the adoption of supporter-first approach
- Develop and foster excellent working relationships to establish buy-in for a data-driven and supporter-first approach to fundraising across the charities and be prepared where necessary, with sound rationale, to recommend solutions that meet supporter needs, strategic objectives, and journey best practises.
- Help to drive a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for innovation and optimization within the supporter journey. Implement feedback loops and mechanisms for ongoing refinement of supporter experience strategies.

Work environment

Responsibilites:
Fundraising – General
- To deliver a continuous fundraising operation to meet the short, medium and long-term revenue needs of the charity as determined by the CEO and Board of Trustees
- Establish and maintain positive relationships across the organisation and an in-depth understanding of the charity’s needs and priorities to ensure your fundraising activity contributes positively
- Development and maintenance of key resources to support our fundraising activity, including case for support, programme schedule and budgets
- To develop corporate sponsorship proposals and be prepared to respond promptly to funding offers and opportunities

Amongst other criteria, the successful candidate will have:
* Demonstrable experience of delivering excellence in an operations or research function, ideally within a fundraising team.
* Experience delivering data and insight reports according to a brief.
* A proven track record of using data and insight to inform team activity.
* Experience of working with a relationship database, developing supporter journeys and using analysis to identify and segment prospects.
* A proactive approach to ensuring continuous improvement alongside the attention to detail to ensure compliance.

ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re looking for a Head of Safeguarding & Professional Standards with a background in social work to join Young Lives vs Cancer.
The Head of Safeguarding & Professional Standards works to create a positive organisational safeguarding culture where safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, through shaping, implementing and monitoring safeguarding activity, policy, training and governance across the whole organisation. The role also sets professional standards for our Services Directorate, and highlights areas for continuous improvement, and by directly delivering or designing and commissioning training, they enable Young Lives vs Cancer to respond to changes in policy, legislation and best practice in social care and safeguarding.
You would be joining us at a really exciting time in our journey. Following two innovative peer reviews with partner charities, we are confident in our approach to safeguarding. But like many organisations, we need to prepare for the future. With the launch of a new strategy later this year, we are looking outward to understand how we can create a better future for young cancer patients, one in which the whole system of support around them works together, face to face and digitally, and no-one is left behind. We constantly challenge how we do things, and are experimenting with new ways to create impact, influence the whole system, and importantly – fund this vital work.
You’ll be vital to this journey, leading our approach to safeguarding and professional standards and giving us a high level of confidence as we move forward. You will work closely with a passionate and dedicated group of trustees, directors and management teams who lead activities from frontline social care services through to fundraising and support services.
This role is subject to a criminal record check. In the event of a successful application an Enhanced Criminal Record Check will be completed. This role is also subject to a Social Worker Registration.
WHAT WILL I BE DOING?
No two days are the same at Young Lives vs Cancer. So, summarising your ‘day to day’ isn’t easy. Here are some of the main things you’ll be doing, but you’ll find more details in the job description.
The Head of Safeguarding & Professional Standards:
- Shapes, implements and monitors and reports performance against the safeguarding policy, training and governance across the whole organisation including with the trustees
- Reports to and supports the trustee Safeguarding Committee
- Oversees the governance of safeguarding referrals and activity in local social care teams
- Advises on safeguarding matters anywhere else across the organisational structure (including in income generation, for example)
- Works closely with the Services Senior Management team to set professional standards for our services and highlight areas for continuous improvement
- Planning and directly delivering, or designing and commissioning training, to enable Young Lives vs Cancer to respond to changes in policy, legislation and best practice in social care and safeguarding
WHAT DO I NEED?
The person we are looking for will have:
- The right experience: you must be a registered social worker and have worked as a as a social worker and in a strategic role in children or young people's social care services, delivering safe services with particular reference to safeguarding and assurance, and have significant experience of developing social work practice at a strategic or system level
- The right leadership expertise: with strong leadership and collaborative planning skills you will have ability to work collaboratively to oversee how things work, and influence stakeholders across the charity
- The right people skills: Confidence to challenge ways of thinking and the communication skills to coach and empower people to build a culture of safeguarding.
