About the role
Across the UK, over 400 organisations refer women for a Smart Works appointment, including job centres, refuges, prisons, working programme providers and other charities. The team in each centre supports clients to access their appointment.
We are recruiting for a Service Delivery Assistant based in our Reading centre to lead on the smooth running of our service, and create a welcoming atmosphere for all clients, volunteers and visitors. Our team is friendly and professional, and we work closely together to make sure every client has an outstanding experience when they visit us.
The Service Delivery Assistant will be the first point of contact a client will have with Smart Works. Therefore, we are looking for a friendly, organised and hard-working individual. The role requires strong administrative skills, excellent communication skills and a drive to ensure all women who visit us have the best possible experience. The role would be based in Reading city centre, and there will be occasional evening and weekend work as the role holder may be asked to provide key events support.
Smart Works Reading is part of Smart Works Charity, with Smart Works centres across the UK. There will therefore be some travel and frequent liaison with local centres across the UK and HQ in London, to support induction and training, as well as the day-to-day role.
Duties and responsibilities
- Being the first point of contact for all clients, volunteers and visitors of the centre, in person, via email and on the phone.
- Managing the central inbox, responding to clients, referral partners, volunteers, donors and potential supporters.
- Day to day coordination of the Smart Works service, including booking all client appointments, answering the phone and all related service administration.
- Maintaining an up to date and accurate client data base.
- Generating volunteer rotas and day to day volunteer communications relating to service delivery.
- Ensuring the dressing room and stockroom is organised and tidy to a high standard.
- Ensuring all operational policies and procedures including Safeguarding are maintained, communicated, and adhered to on service days.

We are looking for a Domestic Abuse Support Worker to join an exciting partnership project in Stockport.
You will support victims of domestic abuse within the Stockport Borough offering a person centred and trauma informed package of support and advocacy.
The role
In this role you will complete risk and needs assessments with victims of domestic abuse who live in the borough of Stockport. You will liaise with referring agencies, actively contribute to risk management procedures and team working. You will carry out a large and varied range of practical support which may include safety planning, advocacy, risk assessment and risk management. We also offer emotional support to those people we work with, encouraging and supporting them to rebuild lost confidence and self-esteem. We are a consent driven service and therefore the needs of the person we are supporting is at the core of all the work that you will do.
As part of the Stockport Domestic Abuse Support team, you will also be supporting the partners of those who are undertaking behaviour change work on the Striving to Change Programme.
You will attend regular risk management meetings to ensure that both parties are fully supported and that the risk is appropriately managed.

About the role
As the charity works to double the number of women it helps, we are recruiting for a Fundraising Events Lead to join our Newcastle team. Reporting to the Centre Manager, they will engage new and existing supporters and achieve income targets, raising vital funds across events and community fundraising to support of our mission.
In practice, this involves identifying new locations to deliver our annual events calendar including our sustainable fashion sales, and delivering our annual community fundraising campaign to target income, Cycle for Smart Works.
They will also work with our Communications Assistant to deliver engaging digital content about our events and community fundraising initiatives across various social media platforms.

Duties and responsibilities

Personal Specification
Essential criteria
- Demonstrable experience in event management and delivery, raising income in excess of £55k per annum. Event management in a fundraising capacity is highly desirable.
- Strong relationship building skills and confidence managing various stakeholders.
- Target driven with excellent organisation and time management capabilities, demonstrating an ability to prioritise and work to deadlines.
- Effective project-management skills, with proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience of writing applications for charitable trust grants is highly desirable.

- History of offending behaviour and criminal justice.
- History of children being removed from their care and/or at risk of further removals.

The team delivers 121 support in the form of weekly keywork sessions working within a psychologically informed framework to create a support plan with residents and build on skills and competencies, this will be a flexible delivery model and provide medium to high support that offers people a personalised pathway away from homelessness,
which builds on their strengths and aspirations for the future.

You will be responsible for coordinating our volunteers who either provide companionship through home visits or friendly telephone chats. You will also help to promote volunteering throughout Dacorum.

Main purpose of Role
The purpose of the role is to coordinate the Befriending Service by carefully matching volunteers to visit an older lonely, isolated person in their own home to provide friendship and company.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and record referrals for the befriending scheme from a variety of health and social care professionals, voluntary organisations, or family and friends
- Make contact with potential clients by undertaking initial telephone assessments and carrying out initial assessment visits, taking time to understand the needs of the clients and to assess suitability for the befriending scheme
- Actively recruit volunteers for both the visiting service. This will include interviewing potential volunteers and completion of DBS and references checks
- Provide individual inductions for all new volunteers recruited within the locality, ensuring that volunteers are appropriately trained to carry out their befriending role

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- To maintain and develop Change Grow Live’s external facing website.
- To work collaboratively with the Marketing and Communications Team to agree a development roadmap for the website.
- To monitor and support the availability of internal systems.
- To investigate and fix bugs.
- To investigate and research technical solutions to problems identified.
- To occasionally provide technical support for users.
- To understand key operational needs and produce timely, cost-effective. solutions at the quality expected.
About you:
- Experience in a programming language such as PHP, Python or JavaScript, as well as HTML, CSS and other relevant technologies.
- Graduate level knowledge of Computer Science either through a degree or equivalent experience.
- Flexible, enthusiastic technophile, a fast learner and creative problem solver.
- Experience with CMS such as Joomla, Drupal or WordPress.
- Communicate confidently and effectively, verbally and in writing.

Desirable criteria:

About this key role
Working as part of a larger Trainer and Assessor team, our successful candidate will work with allocated learners to produce realistic assessment plans, assessing learners using a range of assessment methods appropriate for the vocational qualification assessment criteria, and provide vital one-to-one support to learners as appropriate, ensuring you monitor their progress towards timely completion and certification.

About you
We are seeking candidates with experience in managing the development, production and delivery of web content and digital products, including e-learning resources, videos, podcasts, and images, for a high traffic and information rich website.
The successful candidate will have experience of implementing a digital-first strategy which supports and refines customer-focused outputs. You will be versed in content management systems (e.g. WordPress), information architecture, and user-experience (UX) design as it pertains to effective usability and accessibility.
