This person will report directly to the Head of Network and work closely alongside other members of the team and key stakeholders, with a specific focus on our Accredited Club and Programme compliance and development and overarching responsibility of maintaining our membership delivery model mechanics and key processes. The Advice Manager will take the lead on BIAS’s day-to-day advice services, managing a small team of advice specialists to ensure that we provide the highest-quality service to our clients. You will need to have strong people skills and the ability to build good working relationships with staff and clients, along with excellent organisational abilities to ensure that projects are delivered on time.
This role will also involve working with the leadership team to help identify areas for future development and support grant applications and reporting, which will give you the opportunity to have a direct impact on shaping the organisation’s future strategy and direction.

KEY WORK AREAS AND MAIN DUTIES
Staff management
- Managing a small advice team, ensuring the quality of the advice provided.
- Providing support and supervision to staff on the delivery of advice services, ensuring that appropriate advice is provided and casework deadlines are met.
- Ensuring good teamwork and lines of communication between staff, volunteers and partner agencies.
- Creating a positive working environment in which equality and diversity are promoted and staff can do their best.
Quality and service delivery
- Leading the welfare advice services, including contributing to possible future expansion.
- Maintaining a small personal caseload (approximately one day’s work per week).
- Working with the Operations Manager to ensure that BIAS maintains the Advice Quality Standard (AQS) and is successful in AQS renewal.
- Leading on monitoring service delivery, recording outcomes and ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
- Managing all aspects of risk relating to advice delivery, complaints handling, safeguarding and GDPR.
Operational support
- Working with the leadership team as required on operational matters, including planning, strategy for future development and grant applications and reporting.

WHAT DOES BIAS DO?
BIAS is a local charity which has supported England’s largest Irish community in Brent for over forty-five years. We deliver our support through our welfare advice drop-in service, our Active Ageing Clubs and our Be-a-friend volunteer scheme. We raise over £1 million in extra income for the most vulnerable every year and have over 3000 attendances at our club services. BIAS has exciting plans for possible further expansion in 2024 and has a range of medium- to long-term grant funding, including from Ireland’s Emigrant Support Programme.

Blue Ventures is a marine conservation organization that puts people first. We support coastal fishers in remote and rural communities to rebuild fisheries, restore ocean life and build lasting pathways to prosperity. Blue Ventures is seeking a Social Media Manager to coordinate our social media communications' strategy, delivery, and measurement. You’ll be responsible for managing all social media channels and creating and producing engaging content to be used across them and beyond. Role Purpose:
This is a great opportunity to make a significant impact on hundreds of civil society, social movements and community groups around the world, driving funding to where it is needed most. The Head of Development will join the central team, reporting to the CEO and will be responsible for forging relationships with funders, as well as identifying opportunities to engage with local community groups.
They will share the Social Change Nest’s ambitions to transform funding for grass roots organisations and coalitions by reimagining fundraising, removing structural barriers and encouraging institutional funders to support community interests. They will oversee the Marketing, Communications & Development Assistant and one other team member and will collaborate with Risk, Compliance and the Innovation Managers. This is a busy and exhilarating role with opportunity to grow and develop. We are planning to increase the size of the team over the next year.

We nurture grassroots groups and enable funders to support frontline social action by offering fiscal hosting, grant management, grant distribution and fund management services. We currently support over 500 community groups across the UK and abroad addressing climate to housing, wellbeing and animal rights. We are pioneering fiscal hosting in the UK and have distributed grants to groups that otherwise would not have had access to the opportunity. Since our inception we have ensured over £23m has got safely into the hands that need it.

Key Responsibilities:
- Build strong rapport with clients and community groups to ensure effective implementation of our strategy, supporting the team responsible for project delivery.
- Identify and secure new funding opportunities with clients, creating tailored proposals to appeal to funder appetite and needs.
- Oversee and contribute to external communications and marketing campaigns.
- Oversee the business development pipeline, ensuring its effectiveness and alignment with our strategic goals.
- Deliver high-quality bid proposals and pitch documents to support business growth.
- Develop and implement client management and engagement strategies, including our philanthropic networks, enhancing operational relationships and value.
- Grow new strategic partnerships with civil society and local community groups and identify their funding requirements, ensuring optimum communication with those grass roots groups.
- Analyse and present HubSpot data to inform strategic decisions and refine our offering.
- Manage budgeting processes and prepare essential documentation for pitches and contracts.
- Be an ambassador for the Social Change Nest, representing the business at industry conferences, events and workshops and grow strategic partnerships.
- Champion the maintenance and improvement of our CRM system, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

Skills and Experience:
Essential:
- 4-5 years in a business development, sales or client facing role.
- Proven business development expertise with a track record of winning new business and able to apply these skills to enhance our business development strategies.
- Able to use your knowledge and skills to identify and seize opportunities for growth through partnerships, projects and clients.
- A solid understanding of the philanthropic and grant-making sectors in order to enrich our strategies and client interactions.
- Numerate and adept at analysing data to derive insights that guide business planning and strategy.
- Outstanding customer service skills, both proactive and reactive. Your reliability, trustworthiness, and ability to respond to our clients’ needs set you apart.
- Excellent pitch and bid-writing skills with an ability to craft compelling proposals that resonate with our target audience, including design and pricing.
- Capable of anticipating and evaluating the potential risks and returns of projects and able to assess risk as part of the process.

The Corporate Partnerships Manager will be looking after a portfolio of longstanding five-figure partnerships and will focus particularly on building new business relationships.
This role is offered on a permanent, full-time (part-time considered) basis paying a salary of £38,083 per annum. This role can be fully remote or hybrid. The Recovery Family and Friends Manager will lead on the development of the RBL Recovery Services Friends and Family strategy, which will aim to engage over 1500 people annually, including family, friends, ambassadors, and volunteers.
The role holder will oversee the design, implementation, delivery, and evaluation of a range of class leading events and programmes, across the UK and internationally. The role holder will be required to work collaboratively with the Team UK Manager, Recovery Programmes Manager and Recovery Pathways Manager to ensure programmes are carefully mapped to wider Recovery Services activity.
