This role will provide strategic oversight and direction for Lepra’s institutional fundraising function to deliver on the restricted and unrestricted income targets. Line managing and leading the Trusts and Foundations Fundraiser in the delivery of the trust fundraising target, and working with the programmes teams in the UK, India and Bangladesh to identify and develop applications to statutory sources and major trusts, leading on the development of detailed project proposals.

The salary for this position is £28,723 (FTE £35,904) – Manager Level, part time (28 hours – 4 days per week). We have fully embraced flexible working and the role can be either fully remote, hybrid or fully based at our Colchester offices. As an Employment Coach with our Employcare Project you will be supporting unpaid carers living in Manchester; providing support and coaching in order for them to re-enter paid employment or voluntary roles.  The successful candidates will manage a small caseload of carers and provide them with 1:1 support, helping them overcome barriers to employment and training.  You will be responsible for supporting them through every stage of their journey, enabling participants to address their barriers and realise their aspirations.

Greater Manchester Youth Federation (“GMYF”) is looking for 3 Youth Workers (2 x Part Time and 1 Full Time) who will work with young people at their Partington Youth and Community Centre and Whitemoss Centre in Charlestown, Manchester.

The Roles 

The role of the Youth Worker is to be young person centred and to provide a nurturing, safe and supporting environment for the young people, building and maintaining positive relationships with them. You will be predominantly based at Partington Youth and Community Centre working with 9-16 year olds. You will support the Youth Activities Lead in planning and delivering a full programme of activities including Centre-based activities and outdoor trips, as well as supporting our outdoor adventure team with outdoor activities and residentials.

Key areas of focus for the Youth Worker will be: 

• Support the young people: always take a young person-centred approach to all activities. Maintain the ethos of the organisation by providing a nurturing, safe and supporting environment. Build and maintain positive relationships with the young people, recognising their different needs and starting points. Have strong commitment to the values of acceptance and respect within youth and community work. Be a positive role model for the young people. Encourage the young people to take an active role in social action projects youth voice and young leader activities. 

• Assist the Youth Activities Lead: work together with the team in planning and delivery of full programme of activities, including evening youth club sessions. Assist in the development and introduction of additional activities eg twilight sessions, drop ins, youth voice, targeted group work, mentoring. Identify the formal and informal educational, social, cultural and recreational needs of the young people and plan a programme of positive interventions and innovations which enhances the knowledge, awareness and personal development of the young people. Articulate and record young people’s progression in sessional and project recording documentation and provide information for management and funding reporting. ·  

• Residentials: Attend weekend residentials and events at the GMYF’s outdoor pursuits centre and encourage the young people to get involved. Support and assist with the planning and delivery of off-site trips/activities and residentials at various locations.

• Safeguarding: comply with all policies and procedures, with reference to safeguarding, codes of conduct, health and safety, and equality and diversity. Be alert to issues of safeguarding and child protection, ensuring the welfare and safety of youth club members is promoted and safeguarded. Report any child protection concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Lead. Participate in Safeguarding training. 

• Represent Greater Manchester Youth Federation: Ensure conduct is professional and represents Greater Manchester Youth Federation in a positive manner both to internal and external visitors, working with a wide range of both local partners and community organisations. 

• Continued Personal Development: Commit to your own training and development, accessing available training including youth work specific courses e.g. National Youth Agency courses. Funding and support is available from GMYF to assist your continued development.

About You  

We are looking for candidates who believe in GMYF’s mission and are experienced in working with young people. You should be able to build positive relationships with young people, always taking a young person centred approach. You will have some experience planning and delivering activities, and bring creative and innovative ideas about activities you could run for the young people. You should have strong teamwork and organisational skills, understanding of safeguarding, and willingness to undertake further training.

Karibuni Children, a UK registered charity, works to help Kenyan children from some of the poorest backgrounds, to fulfil their potential and release themselves from the cycle of poverty. At any one time, we are supporting around 700 children across Kenya and our aim is to walk with the children through their whole education.  In addition to providing financial support to enable children to attend high-quality educational institutes, we work to reduce other barriers that may prevent those living below the poverty line from maximising their educational potential. This includes provision of nutritious school meals, school uniforms and shoes, learning equipment and feminine hygiene products.  We also support initiatives focused on the empowerment of the wider family unit of each supported child, such as providing workshops on parenting skills, sustainable food production, nutrition, entrepreneurship, and business skills. To further support this, we work with our partners on infrastructure development projects which have the potential to transform the local community and deliver increased self-sufficiency and sustainability.

The charity is seeking to recruit a UK Operations Manager to support the programme of work.  The successful candidate will be one of only two paid employees, working with the Trustees to lead the charity through the next phase of its development. 

Job Description

Salary: up to £30,000 – 34,000 full time equivalent depending on experience.

Contract: Permanent / Part Time (30 hours per week)

Role purpose:

 Fundraising

● Ensure postings to CRM are accurate and reconcile to financial systems

● Organise and manage Karibuni’s own-organised fundraising events, marketing events on internal and external platforms, registering participants, overseeing risk assessments, and maintaining related records.

Support Coordinator

We’re looking for an innovative, passionate, and professional individual with excellent communication and organisational skills to join our Stroke Recovery Services based in the Cornwall area. This is an exciting opportunity to work with stroke survivors and their families to provide Key Worker support following a stroke.

Position: S11121 Stroke Association Support Coordinator (two posts)

Location: Home-based, Cornwall however, extensive travel will be required as part of this role (May include team meetings or other work-related meetings)

Hours: Full and part-time (1 x 35 hours per week post and 1 x 32 hours per week post)

Salary: Circa £26,700 per annum for full time hours, pro rata for part time hours

Contract: This is a fixed term contract until 31 March 2026. Our services are contracted, we currently have funding for this contract until 31 March 2026.

The Role

About You

The Weir Link – a small and vibrant charity and community centre in SW12 (Clapham Park/Balham), are recruiting a Facilities and Bookings Co-ordinator to join their team.  This would be an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator, looking for flexible, part time work, while making a tangible difference to their local community.  

Working in close collaboration with other members of the team, some examples of the role responsibilities include:

Facilities co-ordinator

- Liaise with cleaning, maintenance and building safety contractors to ensure the Centre is kept in a safe and orderly condition for all our users

- Organise regular testing of building safety systems, including the fire alarm system and fire drills

- General housekeeping duties, including managing utility companies, logging meter readings and ensuring records are kept updated

- Ensure the overall appearance of The Weir Link, both inside and outside, is in keeping with our vision to be a welcoming centre for everyone in our community

Bookings co-ordinator

- Manage our growing number of bookings and activities, both those at The Weir Link and other venues we may work with, from responding to enquiries in a timely manner, checking and updating The Weir Link diary, sending booking forms and invoices, checking payments and responding to feedback

- Manage attendance levels and data collection for those attending all The Weir Link’s activities

- Assist with the marketing and publicity of the activities and room(s) available by helping to produce content for our social media platforms (Twitter, Instagram and Facebook), and updating our website

Person specification

We are looking for a motivated, organised and reliable individual with a “hands on” approach to these responsibilities, and other activities when required.  The successful candidate will be flexible, resourceful, efficient and committed to contributing in a meaningful way to our local community. 

Some experience which would set you up for success in this role, could include a background in managing facilities or venue organisation and/ or some finance or  marketing administration experience. 

Key skills required:

- Competent using the Microsoft Office suite – particularly Word and Excel

- Competent and experienced using Google software, specifically Google Calendar and Google Forms

- Confident communicating clearly and effectively by email

- Experienced with standard office practices, including printing and scanning documents

- Some professional experience in (or interest in developing skills in) the use of social media platforms and digital content and website (CMS) management (including producing and editing images, writing captions and scheduling posts using social media management tools like Hootsuite and updating our website using Squarespace) would be preferred.

We are able to offer a flexible working pattern, which would comprise of 12-15 hours per week across three days a week. This would ideally be a Monday and then two further consecutive days, however this can be discussed for the right candidate. The hours can be between 9.30 and 4pm every day, with the possibility of hybrid working (combining office-based and remote working) during the school holidays.

This role would suit a parent or carer who would like their hours to work around the school day and have flexibility during school holidays. 

Ideally the person would also be a local resident who is prepared to build on our links with other community organisations that are local to The Weir Link.

We are hoping to find a very special person to join in the journey of One  Church, helping us to develop our children’s work so all in our church family are equipped and nurtured to live out the ethos and values of our faith as we  follow Christ. Specifically, we want someone who translates all that’s good about One Church and communicates and embodies that to the younger generation who call this church their home. Working alongside the Associate Minister, we want someone to share the overall responsibility for the spiritual health and discipleship of our children’s work. You will be passionate about children, and also able to encourage other people to engage with and nurture this generation in their expression of faith. 

Key responsibilities 

To work alongside the Associate Minister and Youth Worker to ensure that strong, proactive pastoral care exists across the children and youth by  coordinating and delivering a high-quality children’s (0-11) programme on Sundays and beyond.

Whilst supporting a great team of volunteers you will oversee and nurture the children’s work across One Church including the development of age appropriate curriculum to be used on Sundays. As a Church that openly questions, we want to encourage this ethos across the whole family and  especially our children and young people. Therefore, you must have a real  heart for children and their spiritual formation and be comfortable chatting  with them, as well as their parents, about their faith and experiences of God,  giving them a real sense of belonging within the wider church family. 

The linking of our children’s work and the teaching themes on Sunday aim to  ensure we always reflect our key values so they make sense in the real world.  You will lead this work through our Sunday children’s groups – Buds (pre school), Saplings (school years r-2) and Forest (school years 3-6) – as well as supporting children’s activities in our wider church events such as the church weekend away.

Sunday children’s work development.

To nurture our children on their faith journey, in a way that reflects the values and ethos of One Church. In practise, this will involve:

• Organising great kids work content that is dynamic, creative and inclusive,  and that enables every child to make sense of faith in the real world.

• Pulling together a curriculum of content that helps the kids grow in, question, and express faith. This will involve drawing on external resources where helpful, but also developing resources where there aren’t suitable children’s group work curricula available. 

• Ensuring that our church space is a suitably equipped, bright, attractive  place that is child friendly and accessible for everyone including those with additional needs. 

• Being creative and thinking ‘outside the box’ about what kids work in a  church should be - we don’t want to be bound by the way things have  always been done.

Discipleship and community outside of Sundays.

We have a wonderful group of children, and our heart is to provide more  spaces for them to grow in love, community and discipleship together beyond  Sunday mornings. This might look like meeting up to fly kites together,  forming some regular Journey Groups or mentoring relationships to do life  and faith in meaningful ways, taking trips to Rock Farm (our therapeutic  smallholding in West Sussex) to get some dirt under their nails, or  alternatively just getting together to watch a movie and paint their nails!  Whatever it looks like, we believe that a life of faith is a life best done together,  and we want our kids to have that sense of being a part of a family in which  they are completely welcome to be themselves, to bring their faith and their  questions, and to see the whole of life as a part of their spiritual journey.

We are particularly keen to invest in our Key Stage 2 group as they transition to become part of our youth work. We also encourage collaboration with our Youth Group and joint sessions to explore and develop mentorship opportunities across the age groups. You, alongside the Youth Worker will be responsible for how this comes together  to develop a strong pathway between the groups.

Supporting families.

Parenting is rarely a walk in the park, and helping kids find their feet in faith can be tricky at the best of times. To add to this, though, many of the parents and carers in our church are asking questions around what it looks like to support our kids in faith when their own understanding of God and the Bible is often uncertain and full of more questions than answers! How do we pass on the great bits of our faith without some of the more problematic baggage that often comes along with it? This isn’t an easy question and it’s not one that you’ll come sailing in with an answer to, but it is one that you’ll need to be able to engage with with as you spend time carefully listening to, and encouraging  our children and their parents.

Volunteer Recruitment and Support.

Recruiting, training and developing volunteers is absolutely essential to this role! Without a team of inspired and enthusiastic volunteers your job will be impossible. Working out strategies, communicating with passion and vision and following people up in informal and fun ways are key to getting people to volunteer and you’ll need to invest well in this task for the success of the children’s work for One Church. You’ll

hold regular meetings with your team of volunteers to provide support and motivation, with help from our Volunteer Coordinator, Head of Operations and Associate Minister. 

Communication.

We need to tell others about all that is happening in the life of our children’s work! Part of this role will be communicating with parents and the wider church family about how One Church is equipping and nurturing their children through their spiritual journey and Christian faith. Alongside one to one chats, this will also involve the ability to inspire through ‘up-front’ verbal communication in a variety of settings including children’s talks/activities on Sundays, as well as web-based and printed communications.

Administration.

Self-organisation, good time-keeping and an attention to detail will be key. The coordination and support of a rota and clear plan for our children’s work is crucial. The better our children’s work is organised, the easier it’ll be for parents and volunteers to be engaged and to feel supported.

Safeguarding.

This role will, with support from the Associate Minister and the Safeguarding team, be responsible for ensuring good practices around child-protection and safeguarding as well as the health and safety of our kids and team.

Team Work.

We have a diverse and broad staff team, your role will sit within the Sundays and Church Community Team (Minister, Associate Minister, Development and Wellbeing facilitator and Youth Worker). You will need to be good at, and committed to, working with others. This might be quite intensive times of working one-on-one with a colleague or it might be simply being aware of the work of another team, but either way your role will help foster a strong sense of togetherness and a supportive culture where nobody’s work is more important than anyone else’s. You’ll also be a part of our weekly wider staff meeting.

Kids work in the community. 

We’ve always dreamed of increasing our kids work to benefit more people in our local area and across the city, whether that’s by exploring options to support struggling children in local schools, meeting and building relationship with families that use our café, supporting the work of Chomp, or any initiative that helps families at their point of need. This might be tricky to fit into 16 hours a week, but funding dependent, we’d be really open to expanding the role to include this area of work.
