We are looking to recruit a Director of Programmes, Partnerships and Advocacy to lead a team of high-performing programme and partnerships managers who guide our relationships with a portfolio of 45 local partners, supporting them in their social witness through a £2.4m programme of grants, and capacity support.

The Director will also lead the development of our advocacy work, collaborating closely with the CEO and Director of Fundraising to develop our policies, messaging and strategy to increase our reach through effective lobbying and campaigning consistent with our theory of change, and strategic vision and mission. This cross-cutting work will include working with our programme team, our communications team, and church engagement team as part of a shared approach to advocacy, campaigning, and public engagement.

Advocacy is a growing part of our work, inspired and guided by the voices of our partners – primarily speaking and acting in relation to:

• the presence and role of Christians in the Middle East
• issues of peace, justice and equal rights in Israel and Palestine
• refugees and internally displaced people across the Middle East

Informed by Christian voices from the Middle East, we engage with Bishops and church leaders, politicians, and with our engagement team seek to educate and mobilise the UK public. Resources will be available for the Director to recruit a dedicated advocacy team member to complement their skills and support them and the team to achieve Embrace’s advocacy aspirations.

We are looking for someone who can bring to Embrace a wealth of international development partnership and grant making experience, alongside their passion and skills to drive and develop Embrace’s public and private advocacy. Like everyone else at Embrace you will be fired up by our mission, and in tune with our values.

Naturally, you will be well versed in complex policy issues within sensitive settings, familiar with acting as a media spokesperson, and dedicated to engaging with communities experiencing injustice and marginalisation.

The Opportunity

The Business Development Director will have strategic responsibility for income and growth, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to maximise business opportunities. You will lead development of key partnerships with new and existing stakeholders, commercialisation of services, and lead the communications and marketing strategy. The Business Development Director will set a clear strategic plan for growth, leading our tendering and partnership processes to fulfil our strategic objectives and maximise our impact. In collaboration with CEO  and SLT, you will inform the strategic direction and deliver against key performance indicators in creating a progressive and agile culture. You will lead the implementation and development of income generation, developing and implementing strategies to drive all income streams to drive growth. You will develop a pipeline to maximise income from corporate partnerships, (including training), whilst looking at diversifying the portfolio to generate new business

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Proven experience/success in a leadership role in Charity Income Generation and sustainable business development
• Working knowledge of Charity Income Generation and regulations
• Good understanding of bid framework, commissioning, and tendering
• Experience of Third sector and charitable trusts
• Proven experience in devising, managing, and implementing a budget, financial modelling including meeting/exceeding targets.

Overall Purpose of Role

This role will lead the operational team at Saint Paul’s with inspiring and effective line management to release ministry in the wider team and congregation. This is a hands on leadership role, supporting and working closely with the Senior Leaders to ensure effective operations and business continuity. You will lead on all operations functions including Finance, HR, Facilities, Procurement and all other operations that help our team thrive and carry out the vision of Saint Paul’s. Reporting in to boards and other management bodies, as well as experience running and leading teams, you will have an eye for detail with the ability and experience in carrying out change. You will carry the vision and mission of Saint Paul’s and lead the team in a way that supports the vision, balancing both strategic and operational goals. Saint Paul’s is a constantly changing environment and one where supporting and empowering team is at the forefront of this role.

Key Responsibilities

Finance

• Lead and manage Finance and Procurement, ensuring value for money, maximising financial efficiency through accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis to inform decision making and projections related to the operational and financial functioning of Saint Paul’s.
• P&L reporting and responsibility.
• Managing and supporting the Finance Manager.
• Managing Payroll alongside Finance Manager.
• Overseeing gift days.
• Managing and monitoring team budgets ensuring compliance with financial protocols.
• Timely preparation, monitoring and communication of monthly accounts, budgets and forecasts for Finance Committee and PCC.
• Assisting in the preparation and reporting of financial accounts for HMRC, Auditors, Diocese and Charity Commission.
• Preparation of financial information for grant funding and financial reporting for successful bids. 

HR & Team

· Line Managing the Operations team including the Finance Manager, Operations Manager, LCL Manager, Receptionist and Bookings Manager and Facilities Manager.

· Ensure the overall smooth running of HR, ensuring we are using best practice and are up to date with knowledge at all times.

· Monitoring of Citrus HR to ensure all team are using the programme to its full ability.

· Governance of payroll, overtime and leave.

· Running annual appraisal processes and updating where needed.

· Meeting with wider team members as and when needed to ensure health of team.

· Being a first point of call for any HR issues that arise and advising on these.

· Overseeing and leading of recruitment processes.

Facilities Management

· Ensure the historic fabric of the church and associated buildings is maintained and developed in line with prescribed regulations and standards and where appropriate that the historical and heritage aspects of the buildings are appropriately profiled and made available to the community and general public. 

· Manage all operations budgets and external contract relationships in line with forecast ensuring value for money and delivery is in line with agreed project scope/specifications and high-quality service. 

· Proactively agree (and monitor) standards for buildings maintenance and adherence.

· Leading on our Carbon Net Zero journey.

· Business Continuity and Disaster Management Plan reviewing to ensure risk management/mitigation.

Other

· Strategic management of the Saint Paul’s Centre and all business related to it, ensuring we meet our targets and ensuring good working relationships with clients to help secure repeat business from large clients.

· Oversight of the café, helping to improve our offerings and ensure management of the team and operational effectiveness.

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience

You will be flexible and able to work dynamically to respond to needs as they arise, whilst keeping a strategic eye on upcoming opportunities and challenges. You will bring strength to the day-to-day running of St Paul’s, as well as be planning for the short-term and long-term future health of the team and church.

· 5+ years experience in operations management, with a proven track record of line management. 

· Strong finance capabilities and experience.

· Strong HR experience and understanding of the function.

· Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.

Working Requirements

The Pituitary Foundation is the UK’s leading charity providing support and information for people living with pituitary conditions, their families, friends and carers. We are based in an office in central Bristol, with some staff and volunteers working remotely throughout the UK. Pituitary conditions are uncommon, usually lifelong and can be life threatening. Conditions include acromegaly, Cushing's, prolactinoma, AVP-Deficiency and hypopituitarism.

About the role:

We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated person with experience of low carbon retrofit, asset management, and business development to join Repowering London’s growing team. You will be a core part of our mission to tackle climate change and move towards a more inclusive and sustainable future. 

This will be a high-profile role within the executive team of a nationally significant social enterprise that is at the leading edge of urban community energy, with significant ambitions for scale and impact. You will work alongside the Executive Team with shared responsibility for setting and realising the organisation’s goals, strategic priorities, and business plan. 

Community Retrofit is a place-based approach to decarbonisation and community development, that creates low-carbon infrastructure, which is technically integrated at a local level, and provides direct benefits to local communities, for example through community ownership, affordable energy supply, or high-quality jobs.

You will be responsible for leading the Community Retrofit team. The team currently encompasses seven staff working across domestic and non-domestic:

• Rooftop solar installations

• Communal heat networks 

• Retrofit assessment and coordination 

• Data collection and analysis 

• Asset management 

Rooftop solar is the most established asset type deployed by Repowering, with installations dating to 2013. Retrofit assessment and coordination services started in 2023, and communal heat network investments are expected in 2025.

You will be responsible for ensuring high quality installations of low carbon assets that perform as forecast.

You will lead the development of improvements to our processes for evaluating potential sites and deploying and maintaining low carbon assets and retrofit measures. 

The role will require ongoing refinement of Repowering’s community retrofit offer to community groups, building owners and public bodies such as Local Authorities, and support the growth of long-term partnerships with our stakeholders, including supply chain partners.

In particular, working with the Repowering executive team you will support the incubation of a suite of a finance offers that allow a wider range of households, businesses and communities to participate in community retrofit. 

You will also support Repowering’s work to increase employment opportunities for young people in the low carbon sector, through how we structure our procurement for installations and by the training programmes we run in-house and with partners.

The Community Retrofit Team is one of Repowering’s four key teams, which include Communities, Energy Supply, and Core Operations. Each of these teams supports the work of the others and ongoing coordination and communication will be an important part of the role to maximise the opportunities for learning and innovation across the organisation.

Person specification 

The right candidate will have a high level of technical due diligence, project management and business development experience, with a track record in leading successful teams. This is particularly important as Repowering London is in a growth phase and is expected to expand significantly in the coming years. You will be comfortable working collaboratively and managing a number of staff and external contractors, as well as building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders. 

As this role is at the most senior level of the organisation, it provides an opportunity to shape business development and long-term strategy. Experience of commercial service delivery will be key to creating a sustainable platform for Community Retrofit. 

For this role, we will be looking for and assessing candidates on the following:

• Exceptional leadership skills to lead a growing team and manage a portfolio of projects 

• Experience of asset deployment and maintenance in the construction, retrofit or renewable energy sectors

• Track record of developing and growing a commercial service or product 

• Formal training in engineering, architecture or quantity surveying

• Experience of managing multi-partner projects, that may include academia, technical experts, contractors and local government 

• Analytical skills to interpret data and financial models

• Excellent written and oral communications skills and confidence in presenting to a wide range of audiences 

• Interest in community retrofit as a concept and strategy 

• Capacity to self-reflect on performance, proactively problem-solve and welcome feedback on performance 

The following are not essential for the role but would be good to have: 

• Experience of publicly funded grant schemes or loan finance 

• Experience of energy services and supply contracts 

• Experience of customer journey development, using digital platforms

Who we are

We are a medium sized charity supporting children and young people in Surrey and surrounding areas who have been bereaved or who are facing the bereavement of a close family member. We are the only charity in our local community providing a range of services that give the opportunity for children and families to come together in person. We are seeking a Charity Director to take our strategy forward; we are aiming to reach all children and young people in our local communities who need our support through their bereavement journey and extend the range of services we can provide. This is a broad role in a growing organisation with limited resources, it involves a mix of operational, strategic and external facing activities.

We are looking for a proven leader, with charity experience with enthusiasm for our vision. They will have skills in income generation, fundraising, relationship building, managing a small team of dedicated staff and managing limited resources to provide the largest impact for our children and families. Director of Income Generation

37 hours per week

Salary £70k to £75k per annum WTE based on 37 hours a week

An opportunity has arisen to join Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice as our new Director of Income Generation.  Reporting to the Chief Executive you will lead a dynamic and committed team to achieve ambitious income generation targets.  You will sustain and further develop a balanced, and diverse income generation portfolio, focusing on maximising income and growing enduring relationships with supporters and customers across our region.

This is an exciting time to join Phyllis Tuckwell with the successful candidate having the opportunity to plan and implement the final stage of our £6 million appeal to build a new hospice.

The successful candidate will:

• Be a member of the Senior Leadership Team, responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives to generate income and raise awareness of the Hospice mission and services.
• Provide direction, expertise, guidance, vision and leadership to all teams on income generation activities in a way that enables the teams to own the delivery of the IG strategy and plans.
• Sustain and develop a balanced, and diverse income generation portfolio, focusing on maximising income and developing enduring relationships with supporters and customers across our region.

About the role

The St Pancras Community Association (SPCA) is a charity delivering high quality services for Camden residents, especially the lively and diverse community of the St Pancras and Somers Town ward. As the Director of SPCA you will lead and guide a highly skilled and motivated team to make the SPCA a community hub and a centre of excellence which has a positive impact on the lives of local residents.

The governance of SPCA is overseen by a Board of Trustees. The Director will report directly to this Board and work closely with Board members.

Key responsibilities

• To build strong relationships with members of the local community, community groups, representatives and service providers to ensure that strategies and services are based on an understanding of the community’s needs and the contribution that SPCA is best placed to make as part of the of the range of local support services.

• To develop and deliver a business plan based on a financially sustainable strategic vision and which maximises the use of existing and emerging funding and income generation sources and opportunities.

• To provide a caring and highly supportive working environment which enables all staff and partners to fully contribute their skills, knowledge and perspectives.

• To manage, plan and monitor budgets to ensure the continuing financial sustainability of the Centre and to work with the Treasurer to ensure that the Centre is operating effective, and compliant accounting practices, policies and procedures.

• To ensure that SPCA fulfils its legal and procedural obligations under relevant legislation.

• To maintain an effective and transparent working relationship with the Board of Trustees to

  ensure that Trustees are kept informed of opportunities, threats and challenges and are fully involved in decision making.

  Main tasks

• Overseeing all fundraising activities from trusts, the local authority, local businesses and the community.

• Overseeing the development and implementation of an income generation strategy that includes maintaining and securing funding from statutory bodies, charitable trusts and any other relevant agencies/organisations and delivering charged services.

• Forming collaborative partnerships with organisations and agencies from all sectors that can be developed into services and business ventures

• Line managing key staff and ensuring that effective line managing processes are in place for other staff and volunteers. The postholder will directly line manage approximately xxx staff.

• Holding monthly staff meetings where everyone is heard and respected

• Ensuring all employees receive appropriate line management, where issues and problems

  that arise are handled with sensitivity and a high priority is given to staff development.

• Overseeing the recruitment and induction of new staff in accordance with the SPCA’s Equal Opportunities.

• Ensuring arrangements are in place for the systematic collection and review of employees opinions and the opinions of service users and potential users

• Ensuring effective systems are in place for monitoring and evaluating project performance.

• Attending meetings of the Board of Trustees as appropriate.

• Keeping the Chair, and other Trustees as appropriate, informed about SPCA’s business

  between formal Board meetings.

  Person Specification Essential

• Experience of managing an organisation or department at a senior level.

• Experience of delivering services and activities which have had a measurably positive impact

  on communities or specific groups.

• Experience of financial planning and maintaining financial sustainability by activities such as

  securing external funding, securing sponsorship and charging for services.

• Experience of delivering successful marketing and promotional activities.

• Experience of staff management and successful team building.

• A commitment to advancing and developing equal opportunities and anti-

  discrimination/anti-harassment policies.

  Desirable

• Experience of managing an organisation within the voluntary and community sector.

• Experience of developing policies, procedures and practices for voluntary and community

  sector organisations.

• Understanding of the current and likely future funding environment of voluntary and

  community sector organisations and awareness of external strategies, policies and developments affecting voluntary and community sector funding.
