Tax Justice UK (TJ-UK) is building momentum for a fairer tax system. We want to see higher taxes on the super-rich to support quality public services and ensure the redistribution of wealth. Many sectors will coalesce around the demand for investment in public services, and TJ-UK will be at the forefront of this debate. 

Your role will help to win progressive tax reforms, build political support and anchor our campaigning with sound policy analysis. You don’t need a background in tax policy if you can demonstrate an ability to learn and master complex policy briefs. You do need to be hungry for change and be able to convince people in positions of power that progressive tax reform is sensible and feasible. Your policy expertise, political nouse and parliamentary knowledge will help the team to deliver change.

TJ-UK has a track record of securing campaign wins. We have built strong relationships with parliamentarians, policy makers and a network of influential think tanks and organisations. We also have excellent relationships with many influential media outlets, regularly securing extensive media coverage on tax justice issues.

HR Business Partner

Salary: Starting at £36,477 FTE per annum, rising to £40,699* FTE per annum, Grade 4 (point 29-33)

Location: Ideally based in Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire or Greater London (north) with the ability to travel within this region when required.

Hours: Full-time (37 hours per week)

We are flexible on hours of work and open to discussing part-time hours and other flexible working options - it is expected that for the period 3-9 months after the role begins, travel to an office base in the above listed regions will be required 2-3 times per week. Position: UK Fisheries Transparency Advocacy Officer & Coordinator

Position overview

This is an exciting opportunity to work with leading UK NGOs dedicated to protecting, conserving, and restoring our ocean. The Environmental Justice Foundation (EJF) will be working with Client Earth and Open Seas to promote UK leadership in improving domestic and international fisheries transparency and governance to end illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing and related abuses.

This is a new coalition which pools the expertise of three leading NGOs in the marine space to improve the UK’s anti-IUU fishing systems and policies and to promote UK leadership on ocean governance and fisheries transparency across the world, such as through its spearheading of the IUU Fishing Action Alliance. We are intent on driving positive policy change at a UK-wide level towards sustainable and legal fishing, prioritising increased transparency in the UK fisheries sector, and endorsement and adoption of the Global Charter for Fisheries Transparency, which is the bedrock of our work. We are also encouraging the UK, as a significant global market for seafood, to work closely with other markets, such as the EU, the USA or Japan, to harmonise policies to stop IUU fishing. To make this happen, we are engaging with key decision-makers, strengthening relationships with the seafood industry and the NGO community, and using media engagement strategically.

To oversee the delivery of these objectives, we seek a full-time Advocacy Officer & Coordinator to drive positive change in the UK Government and Parliament and coordinate our project's successful management. You will have excellent advocacy, public relations and organisational skills and can work with a highly motivated and diverse team. You also possess great written and verbal communication skills, initiative and professional drive. Experience in working within coalitions and on fisheries policy are advantages.

Responsibilities

Advocacy delivery:

• Drive the coalition’s policy and advocacy goals towards the UK Government, parliamentarians, advisers and other relevant stakeholders.
• Develop and deliver effective advocacy strategies
• Draft persuasive, concise policy briefs that demonstrate why transparent fisheries benefit the UK, the devolved regions, and the UK’s relations with other countries.
• Support cross-party advocacy efforts in London in parallel to coalition efforts in Edinburgh.
• Help craft meaningful communication materials for both traditional and online media.
• Engage the UK seafood industry and retailers where needed to push for joint action towards policy-makers.
• Organise meetings and events to achieve policy goals.

Strategic coordination:

• Act as the focal point for the coalition's three NGOs, managing and overseeing the delivery of coalition outputs.
• Convene broader meetings with other NGOs working on relevant issues to update them on progress and seek inputs and perspectives.
• Ensure coalition processes are respected and coordinate the further development of the coalition’s strategy, vision, and mission.
• Advise and creatively support partner organisations in designing and implementing campaign strategies to achieve set objectives and outcomes.
• Organise and chair the coalition’s in-person meetings and regular update calls.

Project implementation support:

• Support the project team in implementing our clear objectives and allocating resources to various outcomes/outputs. Ensure that work plans and deadlines are adhered to or adjusted if needed.
• Facilitate discussion, negotiation, consensus-building and decision-making within the coalition. Although each coalition partner is responsible for designing and implementing their work plan and strategies, your guidance is essential to ensure that goals are met and progress is tracked.
• Oversee the project budget with support from EJF’s COO, including creating annual budgets, monitoring expenses, and ensuring all expenditures on planned activities are done on time.

Requirements

• Experience: At least three years experience in policy and public relations roles, preferably within environmental or advocacy organisations, or in government. Excellent organisational and project management skills, with a collaborative and positive attitude. Strategic and pragmatic thinker, ideally with expertise in policy and advocacy. Have a proactive attitude and an ability to function on your own initiative with limited supervision.
• Experience working in partnerships: Great interpersonal, facilitation and negotiation skills. and the ability to apply a structured and flexible approach are essential.
• Education/relevant experience: Relevant experience or degree in public policy or relations, environmental policy, political science, economics, organisational management or any relevant field is an advantage.
• Language skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Passion for conservation and human rights: Genuine interest in bringing about policy change on marine conservation, biodiversity, human rights and environmental issues.
• Travel: Availability for travel within the UK and potentially Europe.

Key Responsibilities

Supporter Experience and journey best practices

• Identify and improve key pain points in existing supporter journeys; making recommendations for improvements that colleagues can implement and support them on how to measure and report back on those changes.  
• Support on measuring supporter satisfaction and testing outputs with supporters.
• Support fundraising colleagues to implement supporter journeys and stewardship programmes across the portfolio to maximise net income and retention of supporters.
• Lead the annual supporter experience and journeys audit, facilitating process discovery workshops to identify pain points and make recommendations on improvements to wider stakeholders and monitor the improvement progress. 
• Deliver process maps for all supporter journeys, ensuring they are monitored and kept up to date. 
• Review communications against supporter journey maps to ensure the supporters needs are met.

• To work closely with our Supporter Experience and Journey Manager to gather insight with the data team to optimise current personas and identify new personas. 
• Manage a supporter feedback panel, recruiting new members and conducting user testing to assess the effectiveness of our journeys, experience, products, and integrated campaigns with them.
• Liaise with the fundraising, supporter care, digital and data teams to identify recurring supporter journey issues and make recommendations for improvements.
• Support on implementing our effectiveness evaluation approach to supporter experiences, journeys, and initiatives. Regularly reporting on key metrics and using findings to drive continuous improvement in collaboration with the digital and data team.
• Support on conducting research and analysis to gain insights into supporter behaviours, preferences, and pain points. Utilize data-driven insights to inform decision-making and enhance supporter journey initiatives.

Driving the adoption of supporter-first approach

• Develop and foster excellent working relationships to establish buy-in for a data-driven and supporter-first approach to fundraising across the charities and be prepared where necessary, with sound rationale, to recommend solutions that meet supporter needs, strategic objectives, and journey best practises.
• Help to drive a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for innovation and optimization within the supporter journey. Implement feedback loops and mechanisms for ongoing refinement of supporter experience strategies.
• When necessary, work with stakeholders to understand detailed operational processes and identify opportunities for a supporter-first approach to help fulfil their requirements. 
• Keep up to date with supporter-centric industry trends, techniques, and best practices related to supporter experience and supporter journeys and share learnings with stakeholders.

Work environment

• The post holder should expect to:
• Work in a hybrid hot desk environment, generally working 2 days a week in the London office and three from home.

Fundraising Development Manager

The Bike Project (TBP) is looking for a Fundraising Development Manager. This role will focus on gaining support from both corporate partners and major donors alongside line managing the Fundraising Executive. 

This is a key growth area for TBP, the post holder will have the opportunity to make the role their own leading their own income stream whilst being supported by the Head of Fundraising and CEO. The Bike Project has an entrepreneurial culture born out of our online and physical bike shop which raises considerable income on an annual basis. We are now keen to grow our trading further through developing a new bike servicing model. This role will lead the development and roll out of this service alongside developing traditional corporate partnerships and relationships with major donors.

Being a small charity, we work in an agile manner which allows for creative ideas to flourish and new ideas to be implemented quickly. We hold donation sessions weekly out of our London and Birmingham workshops, so there is opportunity to see the impact of your work first hand.

The Role

Global Greengrants Fund UK is looking to hire an energetic and passionate individual who will play a key role in collaborating across teams to support finance and grantmaking. They are responsible for the smooth running of all transactional processes for grants, payments, reconciliations, and financial reporting. They will also lead on any applicable system enhancements thus offering a critical and wide-ranging systems support role for the grantmaking charity. The successful applicant will have significant relevant experience in a similar role in a charitable, environmental, development, social justice, feminist, gender, human rights, and/or grantmaking organisation. They demonstrate knowledge and experience in charity/nonprofit grant accounting/financial issues and dealing with both financial and grant information and processes, understand accounting principles, and have knowledge of accounting, grantmaking, and budgeting processes. They have cash management, banking, and payment experiences. They demonstrate excellent administrative and organisational skills, and the ability to ensure the accuracy of work and demonstrate precise attention to detail. They will have the skills to give, receive, and work with feedback constructively. They also thrive in a virtual environment, motivated to take on challenges and collaboratively find innovative and creative solutions. Multiple language skills would be ideal, while English fluency is a must.

As a Proramme Manager you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of Leap’s funded and paid-for programmes. This exciting role will work closely with the Director of Fundraising, Individual Giving Manager and Digital Marketing Manager to develop a strategy, plan and key performance metrics for digital donor acquisition and fundraising. Already expert and excited by digital fundraising campaign development, you’ll have a unique combination of creative and business skills. These will enable you to create engaging digital content and through your expertise in paid search, google grants and paid social, optimise the ROI for Starlight in terms of donor engagement, acquisition, and income. You’ll be curious and take time to understand how we’re supporting children in healthcare settings which will enable you to create content that resonates with our key audiences. Finally, alongside strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, you will be proactive and results-driven with a ‘can do’ attitude to work.

We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, solution focussed finance professional to join our central team as Finance Manager. Used to taking day to day transaction processing in your stride, you’ll use your experience to support preparation of the management accounts and be part of ensuring that we have the business information needed for decision making across the charity. You’ll have space to grow the role, taking on more responsibility as you build your knowledge and experience and improve systems.

Data Operations Officer

Contract: Permanent, Fulltime, 35 hours per week

Salary: £39,358 - £41,325 with excellent benefits

Location: London, UK

Hybrid Working: A minimum of 40% of working time is spent face to face, either in London office, or as a result of external engagement or travel for WaterAid. About the Team:
The WaterAid Data Operations Team works in close collaboration with colleagues in the wider Community and Fundraising directorate as well as Finance, and the team plays a vital role ensuring that WaterAid UK adopts an insight-led and data-driven approach to maximising return on investment in fundraising and campaigning activity.

The Data Operations Team is responsible for the day-to-day running of WaterAid's CRM and Integration Hub. This responsibility requires that the team manage the input of data from external sources (import files from multiple agencies) via the Integration Hub and for the output of key financial processes such as the Gift Aid and Direct Debit claims, while ensuring that the systems are always available to end-users and that security and access are managed in accordance with best practice.

The team also hosts the Data Support function, providing resolution to most Data Operations related cases and allocating cases to other members of the wider department where appropriate.

About the Role:
As our positive and proactive Data Operations Officer you will play a crucial role in ensuring that key processes are efficiently executed and help to coordinate incoming support requests to the team. You will play a key role in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of WaterAid's fundraising data, carrying out data quality checks and financial reconciliation.

You'll also be responsible for carrying out key financial processes from the database, such as Direct Debit and Gift Aid claims. We're looking for someone who is motivated and enthusiastic, with a high attention to detail and the ability to use their initiative to solve problems.

About You:

• Experience of working with data in a relational database
• Great verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent IT skills, with advanced experience of using Microsoft Excel and Word
• A solid understanding of the Direct Debit Scheme and Gift Aid
• Good understanding of fundraising products.

Although not essential, we also prefer you to have:

• Experience of using Microsoft Dynamics 365.
• Experience of using a helpdesk application, with an ability to use initiative to prioritise effectively and provide support to colleagues.
• Experience of submitting Direct Debits to Bacs.
• Knowledge of HMRC Gift Aid regulations.
• Knowledge of SQL, SSMS and their application.
