About the role
Epilepsy Action's PR & Media team is responsible for all media activity across print, broadcast and online media outlets at national, regional, consumer and trade level, as well providing content and comment for our magazine publications and social media channels. Our personal stories are the lifeblood of our work and require a strong degree of sensitivity, warmth and eye for detail. We’re also proud to be a regular go-to source among journalists for media comment, insights and authentic stories.
In addition to traditional media, we are always looking for ways to share stories and talk about epilepsy in a more engaging way, such as our Lunchtime Lives which allow us to connect instantly with our fantastic community.
You'll be joining the team at an exciting time with our ambitious new strategy and brand launch taking us on our bold mission to raise the profile of epilepsy. As part of this, you'll be leading on a strategy to get epilepsy on the radar of TV scriptwriters to bring it into the mainstream national conversation.

We are looking for someone to provide administrative support and deliver an excellent supporter care experience to all supporters, members and donors. You will be able to effectively engage, inspire and motivate people to support the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
Within this role, you will support the team with a wide range of tasks including:
- Advise and guide our new and existing supporters to make them feel valued and engaged with the charity, maximising their fundraising potential and encouraging repeat support.
- Work in partnership with Supporter Stewardship Officers to collaboratively complete all aspects of the Supporter Stewardship workload.
- Establish good rapport and understand supporters' needs and reasons for supporting and triaging supporters as required.
- Record supporter information on the Raisers Edge database accurately.
- Order fundraising materials and packs, and process any orders needed by other members of the Fundraising Team.
- Adhere to the Data Protection Act, HMRC, Audit regulations and other internal compliance procedures and policies.
- Play an active role as part of the Supporter Stewardship Team, encourage cross-team working and participate in working groups.
- Work to business and personal development objectives and as required participate in any relevant projects as agreed with the Supporter Stewardship Manager or Head of the Supporter Care team.

A Relevant Persons Representative (RPR) works across a varied client group in Surrey or Berkshire, achieving positive changes for individuals over time.
This crucial role safeguards vulnerable people who lack capacity around their care and support needs, and who are deprived of their liberty in their best interests.
The Role:
- You will have a fixed caseload of clients in Surrey and/or Berkshire, visiting them on a six- week rotation. You will need to be able to visit he client in person across the county and be able to travel independently of public transport.
- Fixed, flexible hours (15 to 30 per week) to fit around other commitments.
- Working from home to complete administrative tasks - maintaining accurate records and writing reports.
- Working with a wide range of vulnerable people often with complex needs.
- Working within the Mental Capacity Act and the Care Act, maintaining regular contact with your clients (Relevant Persons) who are deprived of their liberty.
- Representing the wishes, views and feelings of your clients, helping them understand the DoLS (Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards) Authorisation, and challenging authorisations where appropriate.

In Norfolk we have provided housing advice for over 25 years, with offices in Norwich and Kings Lynn as well as Court Desks in Norwich, Kings Lynn and Great Yarmouth County Courts. We are looking for a motivated individual to join us as Team and Office Assistant, effectively supporting the small but busy RSTMH Team by providing proactive and comprehensive support across our key areas of work.
The role will require someone who preferably has some experience of providing support to a busy team (preferably within the charity/not-for-profit sector), who is flexible, has excellent time management skills and is able work on own initiative. The successful candidate will be working across various RSTMH activities, including membership, journals, events, Early Career Grants, and communications; therefore, they will need to be efficient and organised, with strong computer skills and a professional outlook.
The Role:
- To develop and maintain effective working relationships across RSTMH.
- To ensure that all general, email, telephone and written enquiries are dealt with efficiently and promptly.
- To support with the management of the RSTMH office and offices processes
- To undertake electronic and paper filing and maintaining filing systems appropriately
- To support with team planning, scheduling and social events and activities
- To assist with the management and promotion of the RSTMH meeting room.
- To support with financial administration
- To support the planning of RSTMH events, including handling delegate registration enquiries via telephone and email, collating event packs and materials, and conducting desk research on the cost and availability of venues and caterers.
- To attend RSTMH events, assisting with Zoom support on online events, and assisting as necessary at in person events.
- To assist with the administration associated with the RSTMH Early Career Grants programme, which includes analysing key data and helping produce reports for the team, our Committees and donors.
- Taking a role in the processes to select grant awardees including helping perform due diligence on the potential awardees
- To support the Communications Manager in scheduling and sourcing content for social media
- To support on the website by uploading and editing content through the CMS
- To help create and send the fortnightly member newsletter and the monthly non-member newsletter
- To support the Communications Manager in creating content to be shared across RSTMH communications channels
- To assist with communications planning
- To be responsible for the general administration and upkeep of RSTMH’s online opportunities platform, grow
- To support with strategies to increase members of RSTMH,
- To assist with enquiries from current and prospective members in a professional, timely manner, to agreed service targets.
- To support ensuring membership data is up to date using Civi CRM
- To prepare social media copy to promote newly accepted articles in the RSTMH journals
- To assist with enquiries from authors, reviewers and editorial board members in a professional, timely manner, to agreed service targets.
- To support the Managing Editor in ensuring manuscripts submitted to the journals are processed in a timely manner.
- To ensure that all assigned tasks are completed to a high standard.
- To participate in team meetings, planning and initiatives
- To undertake any other reasonable tasks as could be expected of a Team and Office Assistant
Essential Technical Skills:
- Ability to manage a diverse set of priorities and meet deadlines to a consistently high standard
- Capacity to set up and maintain administrative processes and office systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a strong understanding of delivering great customer service
- Good analytical skills with the ability to identify key points from complex material or information

AIM OF ROLE:
The aim of the requalification caseworker is to work with clients that apply to our requalification, loan and employment programme. This includes processing loan applications and conducting loan interviews, loan administration, client casework and supporting relationships with professional bodies. You will develop learning plans, attend sector-specific events, network to build a robust toolbox of support for clients, research pathways and offer advice and guidance to prospective clients, current clients and other programmes within RefuAid.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Casework; directly working with clients from loan application to loan repayment - conducting check-ins and supporting clients with re-qualification, loan and other related issues.
● Casework; ensuring clients are well supported and signposting or referring to support services where required.
● Providing guidance and career advice - overlooking CVs, supporting job interview preparation and searches, sending tailored resources, writing references and signposting.
● Meeting clients face to face whether in the office or visiting loan and re-qualification recipients all over the UK - this can be a mixture of London-based and national.
● Researching suitable employment and education pathways - outreaching to professional bodies and employers to ask for sector-specific advice where necessary, creating new relationships with as-of-yet unexplored fields.
● Working with the requalification lead to assess loan applications using a character-based model.
● Processing loans and travel payments to clients.
● Working closely with the loan administrator to ensure a seamless journey from initial application to full repayment - contacting our loan administrators where necessary.
