Job description

St John of Jerusalem Eye Hospital Group (SJEHG) is the only charitable provider of expert eye care in the Palestinian Territories and East Jerusalem. We have been treating patients regardless of their ethnicity, religion, or ability to pay for over 135 years. Our sight-saving work is carried out against challenging and difficult odds to the highest international standards. 

We are looking for an experienced Trusts & Philanthropy Officer who has a professional, ambitious and results-based approach with a track record of creating compelling funding propositions to obtain six figure grants. The candidate will manage a portfolio of relationships with Trusts and Foundations and support in communications with major donors. The success of this role will be dependent on excellent written and verbal communication and ability to relay the Hospital’s work clearly through Trust applications and proposals. This role will cultivate, grow and steward relationship and networks with Trusts and Foundations while providing support in updates and proposals for major donors.

You must have experience in Trust and Foundation fundraising, an achievement of minimum five figures donations, excellent relationship building skills, understanding donors’ motivations and being discreet, diplomatic and sensitive to market needs of grant-makers. In addition to excellent budgeting skills. You should also have experience in working with CRM systems to manage portfolio, grant process and exporting data for reporting.
