Summary

The Church of England Pensions Board ("the Pensions Board") is a statutory body which is corporate trustee and administrator of defined benefit (final salary, hybrid and CARE) and defined contribution pension arrangements. We are the trustee and administrator of 3 major pension schemes (Church of England Funded Pension Scheme, Church Workers Pension Fund and Church Administrators Pensions Fund). We are the administrator of the Clergy Pension Measures and Church Commissioners Superannuation Scheme on behalf of the Church Commissioners. We also administer two charitable schemes to assist retired clergy and their dependants who are in financial need. There are 44,000+ members, pensioners and other beneficiaries.

You'll be leading on the maintenance, design and development of scheme calculations within the departments pension administration system, Universal Pensions Management (UPM2).

Responsibilities will include:

1. Assist with the design and development of the UPM system calculations
2. Agree requirements, scope and specification of calculation changes
3. Plan and deliver a continuous program of calculation development in line with the requirements of the department
4. Plan the testing and implementation of system upgrades and software releases to ensure no adverse effect on scheme calculations
5. Maintain the technical specifications for benefit calculations
6. Implement system changes required to support the introduction of calculation amendments to member records via database updates and communication templates
7. If required, there may be need to become involved in other areas within the System team - from utilising automation to improve efficiency, to working on our Member and Employer self-service portals.

The role will suit a candidate with a sound understanding and experience of the breadth of dietetic practice and research, and the factors that influence it. Community Alcohol Partnerships (CAP) is looking to engage the services of a results-oriented consultant with great people skills to set up CAP projects in high harm areas.

About Us

CAP sets up and supports local partnerships that aim to reduce alcohol harm in children and young people, improve their health and well-being and enhance their communities. Our mission is to create an alcohol-free childhood for all children and young people.

Role Overview

The successful applicant will have a track record of building effective partnerships, the people and communication skills to involve and engage a wide range of local stakeholders and the leadership and project management skills to support projects through each phase of their lifecycle including baseline evaluation, action plan delivery, post intervention evaluation and maintenance/sustainment. After a short familiarisation period the successful applicant will be expected to oversee fast-track development of new CAPs in priority areas and take responsibility for all aspects of their management with minimal supervision.

A key requisite of the role will be the ability to forge effective public/private sector partnerships between statutory agencies, schools, youth charities and retailers following the CAP model and evaluation framework. The successful applicant may come from a police, public health, education, local authority or other relevant background.

Key Responsibilities

· Proactively identify opportunities for new CAPs and facilitate set up of new CAPs in priority areas.

· Ensure that all new CAP projects carry out appropriate and timely interventions and evaluate all activity in line with the CAP evaluation toolkit – including a baseline and post intervention evaluation.

· Raise the profile of CAPs in Scotland and ensure that their impact is recognised by key stakeholders.

Specific duties to include the following:

o Represent CAP at all operational meetings.

o Ensure that Retail of Alcohol Standards Group (RASG) member companies play a full delivery role in each CAP where they operate as businesses.

o Liaise as appropriate with strategic leads within local enforcement authorities and other partner organisations to initiate and complete agreed actions.

o Encourage all projects to achieve positive local media coverage including via social media and regional news/broadcast media.

o Ensure that all projects carry out as a minimum a baseline (pre-CAP) evaluation and post intervention evaluation following the CAP evaluation framework and project management survey tools.

o Produce a monthly progress report on all schemes and pipeline activity.

o Attend and participate in regular CAP update meetings on Microsoft teams (x12 pa).

o Assist with event planning and profile-raising opportunities such as MSP visits to CAP projects.

Skills, attributes and experience

• Essential to the role will be the ability to persuade key stakeholders at local and national level of the need to address underage drinking problems and to facilitate effective and dynamic local partnerships involving any/all of the following sectors: local authorities, education, child protection, social services, public health, Alcohol and Drug Partnerships, police, retailers and licensing.

The Purpose of the Role

 The External Relations (ER) department includes private fundraising, marketing & communications and advocacy. ER’s goal is to mobilize external audiences to raise funding to meet core organization needs deliver programs that support our clients to recover and gain control of their lives; influence policy changes to improve outcomes for our clients; and build and grow our global brand.

The Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team plays a vital role in supporting ER to advance our ambitious global strategy. About the role  

This pivotal role will see you help deliver the Individual Giving (IG) and Retention strategies, working collaboratively with colleagues across teams in IG to increase lifetime value of cash, regular giving and lottery supporters.

You’ll work with the Senior Direct Marketing Manager to lead on the delivery and development of direct marketing campaigns to engage a range of supporters, from those who have just started giving, to others who have a lifelong relationship with Shelter and the cause, stewarding them across their supporter journey with Shelter. 

You’ll have the opportunity to work in a matrix way, across multiple products, and on projects that push forward not only the team strategy, but the organisation’s strategy. 

You will give supporters control of how they give, when we contact them and the content that will mean most to them. Helping build multi-channel, integrated and inspiring campaigns which build strong supporter relationships and long-term loyalty to Shelter. And, along the way, you’ll get to work with new products and propositions to retain supporters in innovative ways and build strong relationships with colleagues, agencies and suppliers alike.

Passionate about outstanding supporter experiences and maximising income opportunities, you have a good understanding of direct marketing and digital channels such as direct mail, SMS, telemarketing and email. You’re also used to optimising and reviewing campaigns and aren’t afraid to share both failures and successes. Managing and influencing stakeholders to deliver results comes naturally to you too. What’s more, you excel in analysis and intelligent use of data, are great at utilising insight, including the motivations, interests and behaviours of supporters to guide decisions.
