Job description
Location: Home based/Remote working - NYA has its home in Leicester which is available for staff to work or host meetings.
Contract: Full time, Permanent
Salary: Band 4 £30,858.80 - £40,777.70 dependent on experience

What we do

All young people deserve a productive, fulfilling future. Society needs the spark and energy of young people to make it tick, yet somehow thousands of young people feel blocked by the complex, sometimes disheartening challenges the modern world throws at them.

Youth work is the best methodology to unlock young people’s potential by providing high quality support and opportunities. Skilled youth workers build relationships that support young people to explore their personal, social, and educational development. Youth work enables young people to develop their voice, influence, and place within society.

As the national body for youth work, NYA has a dual function. We are the professional, statutory, and regulatory body (PSRB) responsible for qualifications, quality standards and safeguarding for youth work and services in England. In line with our charity mission and aims, we also champion youth work through research, advocacy, campaigns, and programmes.

About the Role
NYA is on a mission to catalyse and support the youth work sector to improve standards, access resources and to effectively support young people to achieve their potential. We know that to achieve this, we need to work in collaboration with delivery organisations, funders, stakeholders, and policy makers, to facilitate and coordinate partnerships, and to influence and guide the sector’s path forward.

As we continue to expand our successful Growth team, in this brand-new role, you will work closely alongside the Business Development Manager, to both develop and deliver the Partner Engagement Strategy.

The team is spearheading an ambitious programme of growth to position the NYA as the ‘go to’ organisation for collaboration across the youth sector.

This role sits within our Growth Directorate, and you will report to the Director of Growth.

You will use your experience, skills, and expertise to identify and develop powerful partnerships that promote the work of the NYA, help us to secure income and increase our influence. The collaborations that you build will go beyond the youth work sector, engaging constructive partnerships with providers and other stakeholders in the education, employability, and health sectors. Working closely with the Director of Growth, and the wider Senior Leadership Team, you will ensure that these partnerships deliver effective engagement with the sector, enabling NYA to improve the provision of youth work, and the life chances of young people.

You will also work with the Senior Leadership Team to provide information and insight into the priorities of the wider sector, that will guide the team to deliver future projects and services that support NYA’s wider strategy.

You will champion and lead an effective approach to partner engagement, encouraging and supporting colleagues, to embed this approach into organisational development and our work programmes.

As our Partnerships Manager you will also:

- Act as the strategic lead for partner engagement for the Growth Team
- Identify commercial opportunities to generate income with the Business Development Manager.
- Work with the Business Development Manager to write powerful proposals.
- Grow and manage a network of partners to support the mission of the NYA.
- Embed a culture of effective partnership working throughout the organisation
