Finance Lead – Enabling & Strategic Investments

This role will deliver high quality insight and financial management, helping to ensure spend is efficient and that our strategic investments are delivered against their business cases. The Strategic Investments are integral to delivering our organisational priorities and this role would work with various senior leaders.

As the Finance Lead for Enabling & Strategic Investments you will support efficient financial management, insightful financial reporting, and support effective strategic investment decision-making. This role is pivotal in optimizing financial resources to improve the lives of individuals with learning disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

· Provide timely, accurate and insightful management reports for the directorate, helping to support good decision-making and financial management.

· Lead financial planning processes and collaborate with the Project Management Office (PMO).

· Assess risks, opportunities, and support on business cases for strategic investments.

· Provide line management and support to a Finance Business Partner.

· Ensure financial compliance with regulatory requirements.

CAF is a market leading philanthropy service for US and UK philanthropists and the postholder will take ownership of the growth plan and lead a dedicated team, ultimately being responsible for the relationship management and retention of a portfolio of CADF clients.

The Senior Manager, CAF American Donor Fund will lead on all business development activities, working closely with the Business Development Manager to continually develop and implement the strategic growth plan. We're looking for someone to lead and develop our research team of staff and freelance research associates and be part of our Senior Leadership Team. We work with charities, foundations and public agencies to strengthen UK communities through action research. We champion the role and contribution of the voluntary sector, listen and learn with charities to understand what helps or hinders them and influence changes in practice within foundations and public agencies.

You'll have an interest in our work – helping individuals and organisations in the voluntary sector to achieve change; and a strong understanding and experience of using qualitative research methodology, ideally including experience of action research, facilitation and evaluation design alongside an understanding of quantitative methods. You’ll have experience of  leading, managing and contributing to all stages of the research process (including writing in an accessible and engaging manner for different audiences); be confident in leading a portfolio of varied projects; have experience of line management and working in a senior leadership team; and be comfortable working in a small organisation with wide-ranging responsibilities.

Main responsibilities include:

• Overseeing and shaping the research project portfolio to ensure quality delivery and alignment with IVAR’s strategic priorities.
• Leading, supervising and guiding the research team, including supporting Project Managers to deliver high quality research; monthly research team meetings; and continuous professional development of research staff.
• Being a member of project delivery teams.
• Monitoring project budgets and progress against income targets.
• Ensuring IVAR meets its responsibilities in terms of research ethics and safeguarding and that our research practice is equitable and inclusive.
• Maintaining and developing a network that supports a healthy project pipeline of new work, including relationships with delivery partners who can complement and enhance IVAR’s offer.
• Leading project design and proposals for commissioned work.
• Leading the identification, assessment and response to tender opportunities.

Senior Legacy and In Memory Fundraising Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Sue Ryder for a Senior Legacy and In Memory Fundraising Manager to lead, manage and develop our Legacy and In Memory Strategies to deliver sustainable long-term income growth.

Sue Ryder has a dedicated focus on investing in our legacy giving and we are looking for a passionate and dynamic leader to take on this integral role within the organisation.
Reporting to the Head of High Value and Legacy Fundraising you will:

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the development, delivery and implementation of the Legacy Strategy to deliver sustainable long-term growth
• Lead the Legacy and In-Memory team to maximise Legacy & In-Memory income for Sue Ryder and ensure an excellent stewardship and supporter experience
• Be able to interpret and act on data insight and produce robust reports about legacy income and the legacy pipeline
• Work with colleagues to ensure excellent stewardship is followed through in the Charity’s administration of legacy gifts
• Take the lead on the annual planning budgets, forecasting and variance reporting on monthly management accounts for Legacy and In-Memory Giving

About this team:
The purpose of the Finance Department is to support the rest of Dogs Trust in achieving the strategic aims of the charity. The Learning Networks Portfolio Manager will:

• Report to the Managing Director

• Be employed on a permanent contract

• Be based remote or hybrid, with regular travel to London

The Role In Brief

This position plays a central role in the delivery of Koreo’s work; responsible for a portfolio of the company’s biggest and most established programmes. It will be a varied role and will require someone to lead project teams in the design and delivery of high quality national learning programmes, while also playing a key role in the development of Koreo as an organisation
better able to build a just and regenerative future.

1. Responsible for the successful delivery and development of a portfolio of national learning programmes and projects. This portfolio of work is primarily focused on cross-sector learning programmes that bring cohorts of people together around learning missions. Examples include Civic Futures and the London Engagement Collaborative
with the GLA.
2. Responsible for sustaining and growing the portfolio, and with it Koreo’s profile, network, and income. This might be focused on developing the existing programmes in the portfolio, or could include wider writing, public speaking, pitching and networking
which support the distribution of the work.
3. An internal leadership role in developing a just and inclusive culture in which a diverse team can do its best work. This includes line management of one Project Coordinator, development of organisational practice and process, and work with the team on culture and development.

● Skills & Knowledge which enable you to design high quality programmes and learning spaces, to support individuals with their learning, and to facilitate group spaces. 

● A familiarity with subjects relevant to Koreo’s work is essential. Successful candidates will likely be interested in subjects like collective impact, new approaches to power, working in and with complex systems, organisational design and psychology, participatory futures, activism and organising, multi-disciplinary practice, and much more that we don’t know about yet.

● An ability to communicate clearly and effectively with a range of stakeholders, with excellent verbal and written skills.

Operational Excellence:

● Experience working in a role which required excellent project planning, management & reporting. 

● Experience working in a role in which you were responsible for building and then delivering against project budgets.

● Experience working with a CRM to manage relationships and programmes of work. 

● An ability to organise and manage yourself, to work and deliver at pace to a high standard across a number of projects, to spot and solve problems as part of a proactive attitude.

● An ability to cope well with competing demands and changing environments, demonstrating flexibility and an ability to work in different settings and with different people.

Development & External Influencing:

● An understanding of the landscape of social change work, with a particular focus on UK non-profit and public sectors and the needs of people, organisations and networks in this space. 

● Experience of winning, and/or growing projects or programmes of work to deliver on a business development target. This may be through growing existing projects, writing proposals/tender responses, or by taking a new idea from concept to operational delivery. Experience of doing this in an equivalent context is desirable.

● An ability to influence externally, with a particular focus on the production of content (in the form of blogs, articles, reports, videos, infographics) that support campaigns and external influencing.

Main Purpose of the Role:

Royal British Legion Industries Ltd. (RBLI) is both a charity and a company limited by guarantee.  The trustees of RBLI are therefore responsible for oversight of the organisation under both charity and company law.  They are they legal directors, as determined by company law and the Articles of Association.  The day to day running of RBLI is the responsibility of the Chief Executive and the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).  This role, which reports to the Director of Governance, Compliance & Business Systems, supports the board of trustees and the SLT in all areas of governance.

Overview of the Role & Team:

RBLI is a diverse and complex organisation, with divisions that cover social care, property management, estates management, welfare and employment solutions, manufacturing, and marketing / fundraising.  There are also several support functions including people and culture, finance and performance, business systems, and risk and compliance.  This role is an essential part of the change process currently ongoing across RBLI.

The team is overseen by the Director of Governance, Compliance and Business Systems.  Key working relationships include the board of trustees, the SLT, Assistant Directors, the Strategic Assistant, the wider Governance & Compliance Division, and the support functions.

Your Key Responsibilities:

Governance:

• Oversight of all board and sub-committee meetings, ensuring there is an efficient and effective structure to achieve organisational objectives including the review and maintenance of all terms of reference.
• Compliance with internal KPIs in relation to issue of board and sub-committee papers.
• Oversight of all matters arising and actions.
• Support the induction process for new trustees.
• Support the board and committee effectiveness review.
• Submission of all statutory returns.
• Ensuring compliance with the Companies Act and the Charities Act.
• Oversight of any governance related returns.
• Oversight of key RBLI registers such as Declaration of Interests.
• Oversee submission of documentation during the annual audit process.

Company Secretarial:

• Responsible for planning and managing the annual cycle of meetings for the board and sub-committees, including maintenance of the forward plans and agendas.
• Taking minutes of the boards and sub-committees (shared responsibility).
• Oversee the logistics for the meetings.
• Responsible for planning the AGM.

Legal and Assurance:

• Monitor compliance with relevant statutory and regulatory requirements, proving advice to SLT and members of staff as necessary.
• Oversight and communication of all compliance policies such as Conflicts of Interests and Gifts & Hospitality.
• Supporting the Director of Governance, Compliance & Business Systems to deliver the assurance and compliance programmes.

Risk Management:

• Managing the insurance process in terms of:
• Collating information in relation to claims
• Submitting claims information
• Supporting the Finance Team in the annual insurance renewal process
