We're seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Young Person’s Worker. In this role, you will play a vital role in providing support to at-risk young people who are experiencing homelessness.

Your mission: to support and empower young people to develop the lifelong tools they need to lead fulfilling lives outside the confines of traditional services. You will carry a caseload of clients who you will formulate a comprehensive support and safety plan with, which forms part of the ongoing casework, promoting independence and preparing young people for moving into independent accommodation, and employment and education.

About the Role:

As the Young Person's Worker, you will be working within a strengths and recovery framework embedded within a trauma informed approach to ensure client needs and aspirations are at the centre of the support planning process. You will be the lead worker overseeing the support and development of the young person’s needs and aspirations. You will guide and signpost the young person to the relevant statutory and non statutory services and will be key in motivating and coaching the young person to develop independent living skills.

OFFICE OPERATIONS AND EVENTS  

• Act as a first point of contact for enquiries coming into both general and programme specific inboxes, via the website and phone. 

• Support on the smooth running of the London office. Tasks may include managing post, stationery orders, preparing and packing resources for training and events, and supporting on any other duties as required. 

• Act as one of the designated fire marshals and first aiders for the London office, with occasional support at other events as required (please note full training will be provided in these posts) 

• Support on the smooth running of organisational and programme events, including staff away days, and school events. Tasks may include managing guests lists and correspondence, liaising with event suppliers/contractors/schools, preparing and circulating briefing packs, attending and supporting at events when required, and any other event administration duties as required. 

PROGRAMME ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT   

• Managing programme specific communications related to our Award & Development and Mentoring programmes via email, phone, and website, including but not limited to general enquires and continued engagement with programme participants and volunteers. 

• Ensure accurate and up-to-date records are kept across programme databases (Excel and Salesforce)    

• Managing programme resources, including stock counts, and organising couriers. 

• Processing application data, and event registrations across the two programmes, including due diligence check processes such as DBS, right to work and reference checks. 

• Support with the onboarding of mentors and award recipients across the two programmes, ensure that all personal data and consent forms are collected and stored appropriately and in line with organisation policies. 

• Support in outreach to schools and mentors, including supporting online volunteer networks, as well as creation of email templates and resources 

• Support with the delivery of the Diana Award Development Programme, including scheduling Diana Award recipient blog posts and signposting to opportunities (both internally and externally). 

• Maintaining and updating volunteer expense processes in collaboration with Finance Team 

• Supporting with the organisation of programme events and training such as but not limited to, Online careers fair, career lounges, mentor networking and training sessions, annual volunteer appreciation events, award recipient networking events and opportunities.

There may also be occasions where the administrative team provide support to other programmes/teams as required, however this will be subject to existing workload/capacity.

About the role:

You will be support victims of ASB, working with a multitude of partners across all local authority areas to ensure their expectations of services are clear and their personal needs are met. London Victim and Witness Service is recruiting for 2 x DRIVE Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA). These roles are full-time working one-day per week in the office and the other days from home, with regular travel required to visit clients and attend meetings.

About DRIVE:

The Drive model is based on an intensive case management approach and explicitly targets high risk perpetrators of domestic abuse associated with victims who have been referred to the MARAC. The focus of this role is in increasing safety for victims-survivors, children and families, whilst those who cause harm, the perpetrators, have measures in place to disrupt abuse and change behaviour.

This role will be part of our IDVA team in the London Victim and Witness Service. As a DRIVE Independent Domestic Violence Advocate you will:

• Address the safety of victims at high risk of harm
• Serve as a victim's primary point of contact by working with their clients from the point of crisis to assess the level of risk, discuss the range of suitable options and develop safety plans.
• Be pro-active in implementing the plans, including actions from MARAC, which address immediate safety and enable victims to protect themselves and their children, as well as longer term solutions, using sanctions and services via criminal and civil courts, housing options and other organisations.

You will need:

• Have a knowledge of help-seeking barriers and support needs of victims of domestic abuse (in heterosexual or same-sex relationships).
• Have a good understanding of domestic abuse including the impact of domestic abuse on victims and their children.
• Understand the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management for victims of domestic abuse and their children
• Understand safeguarding issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues.
• Direct service delivery to victims of domestic abuse or other vulnerable people.
• Have excellent communication, negotiation and advocacy skills, both written and verbal when interacting with a range of agencies and individuals. Understand and be committed to equal opportunities and diversity issues in policy and practice.

About the role:

This role is a hybrid working role based in the Housing department, Merton Civic Centre.

As an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate you will:

• Implement effective ways of working with victims and those supporting them to increase safety and reduce harm.
• Provide a high-quality, front-line service to victims of domestic abuse, delivering a premium service prioritised according to risk, primarily focusing on victim/survivors aged 16+
• Work within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic abuse to keep safety central to all services for victims of domestic abuse.

You will need:

• Have a knowledge of help-seeking barriers and support needs of victims of domestic abuse (in heterosexual or same-sex relationships).
• Have a good understanding of domestic abuse including the impact of domestic abuse on victims and their children.
• Understand the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management for victims of domestic abuse and their children
• Understand safeguarding issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues.
• Direct service delivery to victims of domestic abuse or other vulnerable people.
• Have excellent communication, negotiation and advocacy skills, both written and verbal when interacting with a range of agencies and individuals. Understand and be committed to equal opportunities and diversity issues in policy and practice.
• Have a strong crisis management skills and the ability to deal with stressful and difficult situations.

About the role:

This is a home based role that will include some travel across England and Wales for meetings etc. You will be working within a specific project that delivers learning externally to other organisations outside of VS. Your primary goal will be to deliver high quality digital learning interventions based on what our customers need.

As a Digital Learning Designer you will: -

• Support the scoping of learning needs with colleagues and make recommendations on potential digital based learning interventions
• Design and implement e-learning modules and other digital learning interventions including short video resources, animated videos etc
• Be the projects expert on digital learning interventions and how best they can be utilised to address learning outcomes and in turn support the improvement of performance
• Maintain and develop our Online Learning Site (Moodle based LMS) working with internal and external stakeholders
• Support the organisation to promote blended learning packages and digital only interventions to improve engagement with learners

You will need:

• Experience of instructional design and ability to design effective e-learning modules using Storyline software
• Experience of scoping out learning needs and addressing these through a digital or blended learning approach

The role 

We have experienced an exponential growth in income from public fundraising leading to an increased awareness of fuel poverty. To build on this success and maintain increased unrestricted income from a wider fundraising mix, we are recruiting a new Fundraising Assistant to offer vital support for all fundraising activities. This new role will join a small, proactive team who raise funds from a variety of sources including trust and foundations, corporate partnerships, major donors, events and community fundraisers and individual giving.

As Fundraising Assistant, you will provide admin and fundraising support across the Fundraising and Partnerships Team and excellent customer service to supporters, partners, fundraisers, and internal stakeholders in pursuit of the overall strategy of the Fundraising and Partnerships Team.

What you will need to succeed 

You will have demonstrable experience of working in fundraising, business development, customer service or a similar background.

You will also assist with the implementation of the NEA donor journey and stewardship activities, organisation of fundraising events as required – as well as supporting with donor communication and retention.

With such an array of opportunities you will need to have a high attention to detail, the ability to multi-task and be exceptionally organised.

You should be based in Newcastle upon Tyne or within a commutable distance, with some infrequent travel on an ad-hoc basis.

About the Role:

Oaklands & St Kilda is a pair of 6-unit supported accommodation mental health rehab services working with young people between the ages of 18-25 who may have experienced a mental health related hospital admission to gain and develop skills for future independent living. The service will support individuals transitioning from Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services to Adult services.

The service forms part of a pair of services supporting up to 12 individuals at any one time across the sites, providing a welcoming and supportive environment for young people across London on a spot purchase basis.

Support workers will manage a number of young people to help them to identify, plan and achieve their goals, develop relationships meaningful to them and achieve greater independence by providing a flexible and individually tailored support package.

This is a Waking Night role working to support young people throughout the night at the service. This role completed 10 hour shifts 4 days a week across all days of the week.

This role requires a valid Right to Work for the UK as Look Ahead are not a sponsoring organisation.

What you'll do:

Building supportive, trusting relationships with young people and creating a positive atmosphere#
Working proactively with other members of the team to handle the service caseload and administrative responsibilities
Conducting key work sessions as required, that are innovative and engaging in order to achieve Support Plan goals
Co-producing ongoing assessment and management of risks in collaboration with young people with an attitude of 'positive risk taking'
