We are looking for an organised and creative individual to join our service supporting Unpaid Carers in Lewisham to improve their health and wellbeing, and access support that meets their needs.
The team works with unpaid Adult Carers, Young Adult Carers and Young Carers and you will carry out home visits and community meetings, complete assessments, co-produce support plans, and develop effective relationships with Unpaid Carers, families, and professionals. You’ll build on your local knowledge to signpost and facilitate access to support services, including financial and benefit advice, housing, health and safety home systems, and leisure and social activities.
To facilitate group work, you will plan and deliver a programme of events, groups, activities, training and workshops. You’ll need to research and book trainers, venues, activities and resources, negotiate value for money, promote the calendar of events and manage bookings. The sessions will offer opportunities for Unpaid Carers to meet with peers, develop confidence, learn new skills, reduce social isolation, and improve their own wellbeing.
Applicants should have relevant personal or professional experience of working with Unpaid Carers and/or vulnerable adults or children in a social care, health, education or voluntary and community sector, as well as experience of planning and delivering a programme of group work.
You’ll need a practical understanding of barriers faced by Unpaid Carers, and an awareness of cultural differences and access to services. You should be an excellent communicator and able to motivate and empower others.

Job Title: Partnership Development Manager
Salary: £34,500.
Contract Type: Contract for 18 months; there is a strong possibility that currently anticipated growth in the team may see this role become permanent during the contract term. The latest research suggesting that the number of children and young people at risk of hunger has rocketed to three million means that one in five children don't have enough to eat.
When a child is too hungry to learn, when they’re aching for something to eat, they can’t concentrate. They can’t absorb information. Big feelings and worries can be impossible to control. They fall behind in their studies.
Magic Breakfast provide a nutritious and filling breakfast to over 200,000 children and young people every school day. We work with schools in areas of high disadvantage, helping staff target the children most in need without barrier or stigma.
Magic Breakfast are ambitious to grow our impact in order to remove hunger as a barrier to learning for all children and young people in the UK. To do this, we need to continue to grow our fundraised income, of which new corporate income is a significant element.
JOB INFORMATION
We are seeking candidates who are after the next step in their fundraising journey. You will already have strong credentials and be ready to start your journey into Partnership Management which will include leading in delivering the new business plan and working closely with colleagues in the Partnership Development team and across the organisation to identify, create and secure new strategic, multi-year corporate partnerships
You’ll be ambitious to take the next step and we are on hand to support and offer you training and a positive working environment to allow you to gain confidence and knowledge in the role at a steady pace.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Building a pipeline that reflects Magic Breakfast’s restricted and unrestricted funding needs, including Gift in Kind requirements, working with the Partnership Research Executive to research and identify prospects with potential.
- Making use of multiple tactics to secure meetings with prospects including, for example, cold calling, emailing, running events, event networking and social selling on platforms like LinkedIn.
- Ensuring that risk-screening and due diligence processes have been completed in line with Magic Breakfast’s Ethical Fundraising and Due Diligence policies.
- Understanding each prospect’s strategic interests through meetings, discussions and research and defining the mutual advantage in partnership.
- Developing and delivering engaging, relevant and impactful pitches and written proposals to prospective partners.

The Role

We are currently the only free, Level 2-accredited, year-round provider of out-of-scope immigration advice on the South Coast, and increasing local immigration capacity is critical to address growing demand and changing demographics in the region. Our current core caseload is largely non-EEA nationals whose immigration cases are out of scope of legal aid. However we are also seeing and will continue to see new arrivals and emerging needs in the region including Afghans resettled under the ARAP and ACRS schemes, Sudanese evacuees, EEA nationals who still have not registered for pre-settled or settled status, and an increasing number of both newly arrived and established asylum seekers placed in emergency (‘contingency’) and dispersal Home Office accommodation.
The balance of time spent between different client groups and cases will therefore need to be responsive to the changes we see in the city and region. Many of our clients also have complex additional needs including health and homelessness and the post holder will be expected to liaise closely with our generalist caseworkers and external providers to ensure that people’s holistic needs are met.
You will work as part of a small, supportive advice and casework team that also includes two generalist advice caseworkers, an employability caseworker, a groupwork facilitator and four dedicated resettlement caseworkers who are supporting newly resettled refugee families mainly from Syria and Afghanistan.
Regular supervision and support and in-house and on-the-job training will be provided, as well as external training on specific issues where needed. However you will need to be ready to step immediately into a busy advice environment with the necessary confidence, skills and knowledge to begin to deliver advice and casework and pick up an existing caseload.
Ideally you will already be OISC L2-accredited, but if only L1-accredited you must be willing to work towards accreditation within the 6-month probationary period.

Cherry Lodge Cancer Care is an independent charity committed to improving the quality of life for people living with cancer, their carers, family, and friends.
We have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Cancer Information Specialist Nurse, and are seeking an experienced, flexible, and dynamic NMC registered nurse to join our team.
At Cherry Lodge, we work alongside the clinical care of the NHS in an area centred on Barnet and covering much of North London and South Hertfordshire. We are based at the very friendly and welcoming Cherry Lodge Centre, in Union Street, Chipping Barnet. We also have an Outreach Service with an impact across the borough of Barnet, concentrating particularly on providing information and support to members of black and minority ethnic groups. Our Befriending Service provides additional support for people in their own homes.
Job Purpose:
To act as a specialist information resource for the management of people with cancer, their carers, and families.
To co-ordinate, manage and develop the Cherry Lodge Cancer Care (CLCC) information service by providing assessment, information, support and signposting to people visiting and telephoning the centre. Oversight of interventions and therapies delivered, ensuring the person with cancer/carer/family experience of support feels seamless and is transparent.
To work proactively with primary and secondary care and voluntary sector partners to promote Cherry Lodge Cancer Care and build awareness of the support available for people living with and beyond cancer. This will include further developing relationships with local cancer care providers including the North London Hospice and North Central London Cancer Alliance.
Contribute to the coordination of the day-to-day running of therapy and complementary therapies delivered at CLCC, including mentoring of junior staff and volunteers as necessary. Working in close partnership with the Volunteer Co-ordinator and Befriending Service Lead.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Information/Service Provision
To ensure people with cancer their carers and families/friends gain access to the information they require by providing the following services:
1. To provide one to one sessions where assessment and planning ensures people are able to discuss all information aspects of their illness (symptom management, treatment, and living with cancer).
2. Provide support, access to therapies and signposting to other local services and support services.
3. Provide appropriate psychological support throughout the cancer diagnosis, treatment and follow up pathway, as appropriate and identified by the person with cancer.
4. Facilitate and support nurse/therapy led groups
5. Act as the person with cancer’s advocate, particularly where informed discussion may affect care management options, by ensuring robust links with secondary care Clinical Specialist Nurses.
6. Deliver support, information, and education to promote self-care following a diagnosis, and reduce risks of future complications. Actively encourage a Health & Wellbeing, enabling approach.
7. Work closely with the Cancer Information Specialist Nurse (Outreach).
8. To maintain a comprehensive, accurate and up to date information resource, including a database of information about local and national services.
9. Maintain professional links and liaise with other units/centres to ensure continuity of care and support for patients throughout their care pathway.
10. To use communication skills and empathy to impart information at all levels. To work with the Operations Manager to audit the service on a regular basis ensuring that feedback from users of the service is used to develop services further.
11. Support and participate in service review and ongoing development of nurse/therapy led services.
12. Ensure clear and concise records are documented ensuring effective communication observing NMC guidance for records and records keeping.
13. To provide information by telephone and respond to written requests for information.
Managerial and Leadership responsibilities
1. Act as a role model demonstrating high standards of care and providing leadership to all staff in the Cherry Lodge Cancer Care team.
2. Responsibly manage resources utilised within the role.
3. To publicise the facilities and activities of CLCC within the local provider trusts and in the wider community.
4. To ensure all activity delivered at CLCC is recorded on the database and provide regular updates to the Operations Manager and Trustees, helping to identify where there is unmet need in order that new services can be developed/commissioned.
5. To develop policies and procedures to assure the quality of information giving and support, including monitoring and evaluation systems that meet the highest standards, and is in line with activity across the North Central London Cancer Alliance.
6. To contribute to the Charity’s annual and strategic plans by working with the Operational Manager and Trustees to provide data & narrative that will assist in planning future service developments.
Training and Education
1. Support a positive learning environment for all staff – including volunteers.
2. To contribute to CLCC’s education programme by organising talks, seminars and workshops relating to cancer information and support.
3. To lead on the delivery of CLCC’s Induction Day for all staff and volunteers, evaluating its effectiveness by seeking and incorporating participant feedback.
4. Take responsibility for own learning and development needs.
5. Develop and maintain awareness of current local and national guidelines and workstreams which affect cancer information services, sharing a regular update with CLCC staff and Trustees.
6. Participate in regular clinical supervision and have responsibility for maintaining that supervision.
7. Attend management meetings, Trustees meeting and events as appropriate.
8. To understand and comply with all policies at CLCC including (but not exhaustive) Health & Safety, AL/TOIL, sickness reporting and monitoring and GDPR.
Research, Audit & Quality
1. To develop methods of obtaining useful feedback from people with cancer and other users of the service in order to provide high quality and responsive service, and to develop mechanisms to audit the effectiveness of the service.
2. To critically evaluate latest research and audit findings, disseminating these findings into practice in order to develop best practice and helping to support understanding by all (centre users and staff).
Personal Development
1. To maintain own expert level of competence.
2. To maintain current NMC registration by ensuring compliance with the NMC revalidation process.
3. To actively participate in the CLCC appraisal process.
4. To facilitate access to training for all volunteers within the service, working closely with the Volunteer Co-ordinator.
Communication
1. Develop and maintain good channels of communication and openness with colleagues within Cherry Lodge Cancer Care.

EduSpots is an innovative, dynamic, and community-driven UK and Ghanaian registered charity which connects, trains, and equips voluntary community educators to drive community-led change through education spaces named ‘Spots’. Our vision is of our world where communities unite to create the futures they want to see, through education.
Since 2016, through collaborating extensively with over 250 local volunteers, who take a central leadership role in the development of the network, we have supported 50 communities in creating and running community-led and owned education spaces named ‘Spots’, with a strategy to support them in moving towards our ‘Dream Spot Model’. About this role
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic fundraising professional, with a proven track record of income generation and a strong ability to develop impactful relationships with the skills to bring aligned individuals and organisations into our long-term EduSpots community. The post holder will be creative, passionate and self-motivated, with strong marketing and communications skills, able to design and implement strategic fundraising approaches.
In this role, you will take on responsibility for identifying, creating and delivering impactful fundraising strategies that enable us to generate further relationships and income in support of our programmes.
You will oversee the development of our individual giving and monthly giving strategies and further develop relationships with schools, corporate organisations and NGOs, with a focus on resource acquisition (e.g. books, electronic devices) alongside fundraising. Main Duties and Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of this role are to:

Develop our individual giving and monthly giving strategies, including:

Ensuring we have the right tools in place.

Strengthening thanking and communications to existing supporters.

Trialling new strategies for outreach to new audiences.

Organise occasional fundraising events (e.g. face-to-face events in London; virtual events and fundraising challenges).

Support organisation and delivery of appeals and campaigns (e.g. the Big Give).

Support the development of impactful relationships with schools, universities, corporates and NGOs for fundraising and resource acquisition (e.g. books, digital devices, science equipment).

If time and experience, possibly support grant applications.

Line manage, and provide support to, the intern/s (fundraising).

Proven track record of successful income generation from individuals or communities - ideally in a similar education / international development organisation

As the Fundraising Partnerships Manager you will be responsible for delivering and managing strategic partnerships between corporate partners and the Harlequins Foundation, building strong relationships with a focus on maximising income and raising awareness of the Foundation’s purpose.
The Harlequins Foundation is the charitable arm of the Club, delivering programmes in our communities that primarily support young people to develop the Essential Skills, enabling success on and off the pitch.
This is an incredible opportunity for a corporate fundraising professional with an excellent grasp of working across all aspects of partnership management to make a difference with our impactful organisation. Working closely with the Head of Fundraising and Engagement and within a small Fundraising team, your focus will be on identifying and securing long-term, strategic partnerships with a variety of organisations as well as building on and maintaining those already in place.
You will develop key relationships within the Foundation and Club’s network of supporters and partners to manage a portfolio of different partnerships, securing donations, sponsorship, volunteers, communication opportunities and fundraising as relevant to each corporate relationship.
This role will have huge variety, requiring strong communication skills with both internal and external audiences, great organisational skills and experience of account management, ideally within the charity sector. Qualifications and experience
- Educated to degree level or demonstrable equivalent experience
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a professional environment dealing with external partners
- Proven ability to build relationships with a focus on fundraising
- Experience of generating income through partnerships, with an ability to innovate and maximise fundraising from corporate opportunities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to confidently present to stakeholders in person or online
- Ability to build excellent relationships and a confidence in networking and public speaking
- Experience of multiple tactics to secure meetings and develop relationships with prospects including, but not limited to, cold calling, emailing, running events, event networking and social media
- Experience developing and delivering engaging, relevant and impactful pitches and written proposals to prospective partners
