The Role
As our new Head of Finance, you’ll lead our financial strategy, manage a small finance team, and support the Executive Management Team in driving sustainable growth. Working closely with the CEO, COO, and Trustees, you’ll develop financial plans, oversee compliance, and ensure robust financial operations to support our mission. Key Responsibilities

Financial Strategy & Growth: Partner with our leadership to drive long-term financial health and strategic decision-making.

Financial Management & Reporting: Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial reports, and ensure accurate, timely reporting for funders and stakeholders.

Compliance & Governance: Maintain compliance with charity regulations and oversee audits, risk management, and policy development.

Team Leadership: Lead and develop a small finance team, ensuring systems like Sage meet organisational needs.

What We’re Looking For

Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience with 5+ years in senior finance roles (charity experience a plus)

Strong knowledge of charity finance, VAT, grant management, and accounting software (Sage preferred)

A strategic thinker with excellent communication skills to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders

Our intervention is provided with consent on a non-statutory basis, and you will work with and engage our service users to develop appropriate interventions for individual outcomes.
Our service is transitioning to become more accessible and inclusive, digital technology plays a key role in this, as such you will use digital technologies to complement and enhance processes and service user experience.
You will play an active role within the community, promoting the service through the delivery of presentations and representing the service at public engagement events. You will also work closely with RAF welfare teams, local authorities, health, education, civilian agencies, charities and other military organisations to ensure the best outcome for the service user.

About you

You will have used Microsoft Office 365 to a high standard. It is important that you have experience of planning and managing your own workload, with minimal supervision.
It would be advantageous if you have experience of carrying out assessments, preparing plans, monitoring and reviewing outcomes.
There will be some travel required and therefore you will need to be able to drive and have access to your own car.

This role will manage the newly formed operations team to focus on ensuing that all Fundraising teams are able to focus on building relationship, creating asks, building supporter relationships and engagement. The Operations team will focus on all activity that could be described as back office, administration or fulfilment such as fulfilment, cash handling, payments, any other aspects that can either remove activity from fundraisers or support teams to deliver better or more efficient fundraising activity. This role will lead in developing and professionalising our Operations teams. Making sure that the team deliver their key role in ensuring Marie Curies fundraising success. You will be responsible for:
- Delivering excellent support across all fundraising teams to ensure they are aided to achieve our income, recruitment and engagement objectives as effectively as possible.
- Improving fundraising approach to support activities, ensuring it is aligned, efficient, and supporting teams across Fundraising to improve their support focused activity whilst ensuring our donors have great support experiences.
- Ensuring the team delivers end-to-end operational delivery of campaigns and products, leading on the sign-off of solutions and ensuring rigorous user acceptance testing of solutions.
- Ensuring Community Fundraising and other Fundraising teams are fully and appropriately supported to ensure the fundraising time is maximized and that supporters have excellent experiences.
- Working with the Web and Technology teams to ensure the Operations team maximises the use of technology to optimize the effectiveness and efficiency of support activity, including self-service if / where appropriate.

Title: Healthcare Assistant

· Co-ordinate and action messages in the Patient services Mailbox and distribute messages accordingly to the wider team where needed
· Maintain that Patient services documentation is updated with clear and concise details
· Identifying gaps in patient information and assist in developing and proofreading relevant medically approved resources to reflect current guidelines, treatments, services and advances
· Frequently reviewing and assisting with update of content on Charity Websites and social media channels current and relevant Forums

The Stella Maris (SM) Regional Port Chaplain will promote the vision, mission and values of SM in caring for all seafarers and fishers by helping to meet their pastoral and spiritual needs. Stella Maris UK is a well-known and respected charity within the maritime industry We are the largest ship visiting network in the world. As a Regional Port Chaplain, you will be responsible for being the face of the charity when visiting ships, seafarers, fishers and their families. You will also be representing the charity at meetings, conferences, events and any other required functions. You will need to be effective, efficient, well organised, confident and comfortable in working with all other stakeholders, organisations and charities whilst undertaking various tasks in and out of the port environment.
The role will also require interactions and communication with various staff members at head office, the Senior Area Port Chaplain and other members of the team, as well as communicating and building relationships with local Catholic parishes. You may also be asked to attend various meetings or gatherings where you would be asked to give a presentation on the work of Stella Maris.
It will be vitally important to be flexible whilst working within this role and environment using as much effective time management as possible, but remaining creative and using initiative, when necessary, in certain situations and circumstances.
The role of chaplain can often be a lonely and sometimes isolated role that may require some out of hours working. Things do not always go according to plan and sometimes you may not be welcomed onboard. The role can be challenging mentally, emotionally and sometimes physically (long, steep gangways to board ships). You will be part of a team that has chaplains spread out through the South of England and Wales, as well as being part of a larger team of chaplains in the North of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Chaplains in the South of England and Wales gather together for a retreat and social time once a year, and the whole organisation will also meet annually for a retreat and staff conference.

QuarterFive are delighted to be partnering with The Orpheus Centre, which supports young disabled adults to live and work as independently as they are able. They do this through developing their confidence and independent living skills, using arts-based, bespoke learning, work experience and supported living programmes delivered from their base in Surrey. All of their learners are learning disabled and some are also physically disabled.
The Orpheus Centre is located at a beautiful converted farm that provides teaching and performance spaces and self-contained accommodation. However, their success in enabling these young people to thrive means that they are over subscribed every year and have outgrown the current facilities.
The capital appeal will convert a building next to the Centre to allow for more learners to enrol, in particular more learners with more complex needs. Currently, the quiet phase is projected for 2024-2027, with the build phase being projected for 2027-2029.
The Head of Capital Appeal will sit on the SMT, reporting to the CEO, and be responsible for leading a small team of fundraisers also dedicated to raising funds for the build. While there will be a team to support, the Head of Capital Appeal will spend most of their time personally fundraising as well. There are existing opportunities, including a well-connected President (also the Founder), a Capital Appeal Committee which will be set up, and an existing pool of donors. A focus on new business, however, will also be crucial for the success of the project.
As Head of Capital Appeal, you will:
- Develop, implement and monitor the private and public phases of the capital appeal strategy to enable the Orpheus Centre to meet the appeal target
- Establish a high performing capital appeal committee of volunteers to cultivate and steward potential significant donors
- Deliver target income from a range of sources, primarily major donors, trusts and foundations and statutory sources, but not discounting other viable income streams
- Personally secure significant major gifts for the capital project
- Design, recruit and lead a team of fundraisers to support on fundraising for the capital project

Our Bank Welfare Officers will provide direct and impactful welfare support to RAF personnel and their immediate family on an ad hoc basis when a full-time member of the team is unavailable to do so.

We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic Events Officer to join our Income Generation Team.
Are you an experienced, event fundraiser who enjoys building long lasting relationships with charity supporters and wanting to make a difference?
If so then we have a fantastic opportunity for you to join the fundraising team as our Events Officer.
Working to support the Birmingham Hospice brand, this varied role will lead on the delivery of a diverse portfolio of events and challenges including fun runs, adrenaline seeking challenges and in memory events. The successful candidate will have a friendly and engaging personality and enjoy speaking to charity supporters face to face, over the phone and via email.
Reporting directly to the Senior Events Manager this role will work to grow the income generation and profile of the charity through effective administration, supporter engagement and marketing of the events calendar, ensuring maximum participation and income is achieved. This role will allow you to use your creativity to proactively seek new income generation opportunities through event management. You will be a highly organised and motivated individual with excellent time management and written and verbal communication skills. The ideal candidate will have experience of managing a portfolio of events with proven success of reaching and exceeding participant and income targets. You should also have knowledge and experience of working with a range of external suppliers and volunteers and have a proven ability to build relationships at all levels. Experience of using CRMs systems is also advantageous.
