About the role
The Natural History Museum is seeking a proactive and self-starting, ambitious, driven, creative and forward-thinking Internal Communications Manager to support its 1100 members of staff, across three sites. This role is responsible for developing and overseeing the delivery of the Museum’s internal communications strategy.

What you can expect in return
The role is part-time, 26.5 hours per week. The successful candidate can work the hours in a variable pattern which can suit both parties, subject to agreement with the CLC’s board of trustees. The successful candidate will be required to spend time at the CLC each week.

About the Council
The role of Council is to lead on the GOC’s mission to protect the public by upholding high standards in the optical professions. The Council is composed of six lay members (including the Chair) and six registrant members (i.e. registered optometrists and dispensing opticians). At least one member of the Council must work wholly or mainly in each of England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. One Council member acts as a Senior Council Member whose role is to carry out the Chair’s appraisal as well as provide a sounding board for the Chair and serve as an intermediary for Council members, Executive and stakeholders as necessary.
The successful candidate will contribute to Council by exercising oversight, ensuring effective corporate governance, and making high-level policy decisions. They will be able to operate strategically and impartially; listen, communicate, and influence effectively; exercise judgment; and inspire confidence and support amongst our stakeholders.
Remuneration and time commitment
Council members are remunerated in accordance with our member fees policy (£13,962 per annum plus reasonable travel and subsistence expenses) which is linked in the candidate pack. The member fee includes time for reading and preparation.
The appointed member will be expected to commit approximately 2-3 days per month. Meetings will usually take place via MS Teams but may on occasion be held at the GOC Offices at 10 Old Bailey, London, EC4M 7NG. There are occasional online catch-up meetings - these are currently scheduled on a Tuesday evening every 6-8 weeks, from 5.30pm – 6.30pm.

Role Overview:
NNRF is seeking a new Chair of Trustees to lead the organisation into its next phase of development. Purpose Statement
The postholder will be a key member of the central administration team of the Rank Foundation.
Key Accountabilities
Secretariat support to governance committees:
- Drafting agendas, production and dissemination of papers for Committees and Board meetings to trustees
- Attendance to governance meetings, minute taking, and following up on actions
- Organising RFL annual governance schedule of meetings
- Liaising and acting as point of contact for trustees
- Arranging meetings for Execs and Trustees
- Drafting and issuing comms as needed by the Chair, Trustees and Execs
- Maintaining governance records and register of trustees’ interests up-to date
- Assisting with audit queries as and when required
- Managing the periodic review of Committees’ Terms of References
- Planning induction programme of new trustees
- Undertaking regular reviews of policies, staff handbook, trustee hanbook and ensuring currency and developing new ones as required
- Supporting with implementation of EDI strategy and the Foundation’s vision
- Occasional out of office hours meeting attendance as/ when required
HR
- Facilitating recruitment activities including posting and monitoring job ads, shortlisting of candidates, recommending list for interview and liaising with candidates
- Onboarding of resources: references, right to work checks, drafting of contracts and offer letters, planning of induction programme, sourcing of IT kit/required equipment, arranging IT induction
- Offboarding of resources: ensuring resources are removed access to SharePoint, emails and laptop wiped. Monitoring of dormant inboxes.
- Management and administration of Breathe (HR Platform)

· Previous experience in an executive support role and working with Board of Trustees
· Previous experience of minute taking

· Proficiency in Microsoft packages (essential)

Age Concern Luton(ACL) Luton’s largest independent charity working with older people. ACL has been helping older people and their carers receive the services they need, make their voices heard, and make a contribution to their community, for over 20 years.
Job Purpose
Working closely with the Chair of the Board of Trustees, the Chief Executive will provide leadership and operation direction to Age Concern Luton, Working with the Senior Management Team (SMT) they will be responsible for developing and implementing the agreed strategy and achieving the business plans of the organisation, by effectively managing and developing the resources available to the organisation. They will represent the organisation externally by promoting its services and values.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Work with the Board in developing a strategy for the organisation.
- Lead and develop a welcoming environment which reflects an inclusive organisation that values diversity and embeds equal opportunity for all stakeholders.
- Provide strategic leadership and direction in collaboration with the SMT, ensuring strategic plans and policies are developed and implemented to facilitate the achievement of the organisation’s business plans and objectives.
- Develop and maintain business plans with clearly identified key performance indicators and outcomes.
- Review service needs on an on-going basis and ensure that the organisation is well placed to respond and deliver services as required.
- Research, develop and maintain partnerships with external stakeholders.
- Represent the organisation in key forums and promote the organisation’s work in the wider community, acting as a spokesperson, as appropriate.
- Ensure that effective infrastructure, support services and risk management is in place for all aspects of the organisation’s service delivery and activity.
- Contribute to and oversee the implementation of the fundraising plan, including identifying new funding streams, working on funding bids and ensuring funding reports are completed.
Enabling Governance
- Serve the Board and subcommittee meetings, in liaison with the Chair of Trustees, and advise the Board on matters of policy, strategy, legal, financial, staffing and procedural matters.
- Responsible for managing risks and keeping the Board informed and escalating to the Chair of the Board.
- Ensure that the decisions made, and policies approved by the Board are implemented within the organisation.
- Responsible for keeping the Board of Trustees up to date with accurate information to enable them to make decisions about the organisation.
- Build a collaborative working partnership with the Chair, and enable communication and collaboration between Board members, staff, volunteers and stakeholders.
- Have oversight of health and safety within the organisation.
Financial and Legal Management
- Ensure, with the SMT, that all legal and statutory requirements are met.
- Develop and gain approval for the Business Plan.
- Work with the Finance Manager and Treasurer to ensure budget setting and finance systems provide effective oversight and reporting of finances and budget to the Board of Trustees and the funders.
People Management
- Line manage, coach and empower, set objectives and hold to account the SMT to effectively deliver their roles and objectives and be role models within the organisation.
- Enable a working environment in which staff and volunteers achieve role satisfaction and which encourages personal/professional development.
- Maintain an organisational culture that fosters communication and collaborative working relationships across the organisation, with stakeholders and the wider community.
- Ensure that the staffing structures and resources meet the changing needs of the organisation, developing succession planning strategies for key roles.
- Manage internal organisational, employee and procedural processes, ensuring these are up to date and serving the organisational goals and aims.
General Responsibilities
- To network within the social sector to inform of developments and emerging best practice.
- To undertake continuous professional development / professional training / learning opportunities in line with the needs of the post and resources available.
