About us
Crisis is the national charity for homeless people, working side by side with thousands of people each year as they find ways out of homelessness. We know that homelessness is not inevitable; we know that together we can end it.
This year, we will begin our new ten-year strategy to end homelessness. Key to our mission is thinking differently and more ambitiously about how we engage with corporate partners and the commercial sector and how we can generate more support for our cause across England, Scotland, and Wales.
Location: Based in our London office (we are open to a range of flexible working options, in line with Crisis’ Hybrid-Working Policy)
About the role
As we embark on a new ten-year strategy, this is a unique opportunity to lead the development of a radical and ambitious approach to partnerships with businesses, building on the successful partnerships we have with Lloyds Banking Group, Specsavers, Taylor Wimpey, Berkeley Homes and many more.
This pivotal role will lead the development of a corporate and commercial engagement strategy across Crisis, growing and deepening our portfolio of corporate partners, broadening their support for our organisation and our cause, and inspiring them to act within their businesses. The role also involves leading the continued development of our fundraising and partnerships outside of London, creating a national support network to end homelessness.
While the role is directly responsible for strategic and corporate partnerships, the post holder will lead across the charity, ensuring a joined-up approach across retail, service delivery (including Crisis at Christmas), brand partnerships, venture philanthropy, investments, and innovation.
The role also involves membership of the Brand, Marketing & Fundraising senior team and the organisation’s Senior Leadership Group, where it plays an important organisation-wide leadership role. -

-
Can think creatively about partnerships, leveraging the unique opportunities that Crisis has.
-
Can develop a national income and engagement strategy appropriate to our work in English regions, Scotland, and Wales.
We believe diversity is a strength, and we aim to ensure that Crisis truly reflects the communities we serve. We are actively working towards our organisation being a place where everyone can thrive and make their best contribution to our mission of ending homelessness for good. We know that the more perspectives, voices, and experiences we can bring to this work, the better. We particularly welcome applications from people who have lived experience of homelessness, and people from all marginalised groups, communities, and backgrounds.

You will be responsible for achieving the organisation’s admissions income and visitor number targets and building its profile externally. This role oversees all marketing, PR, digital, internal communication, branding activity and fundraising efforts focussed on individuals and Corporates undertaken across the organisation. Marketing of the museum is at the heart of the job, and good experience is needed for that function. It is not necessary to have direct experience of managing a development role if you have had experience of working on fundraising campaigns or with fundraising colleagues. The Postal Museum is a young museum with developing practice and so, they are more interested in recruiting someone with the enthusiasm, work ethic and curiosity to develop in their career than someone who knows everything about marketing and development but cannot think beyond that. You will have experience delivering successful integrated marketing campaigns with demonstrable ROI, and a proven ability to motivate and lead teams, advise, and influence senior colleagues. About the PVRI
We’re a small charity with a global reach and an important purpose: to reduce the burden of pulmonary vascular disease (PVD) - a serious condition that can lead to heart damage and trigger symptoms like breathlessness, chest pain, fatigue, poor growth, fainting, and light-headedness. PVD can reduce both quality of life and length of life, but it isn’t widely recognised or well-understood.
Our aim is to improve clinical care, education, and PVD research. To do this, we bring together an international network of thousands of clinicians, scientists, academics, and industry partners supported by our small team based in Bermondsey, London. Together, we deliver conferences, e-learning, and an academic journal, raise awareness of PVD, and encourage collaboration in research.
About the role
We are seeking a Marketing Officer to help grow and service the charity's international membership, increase the value of our membership offer, increase our income, and deliver our e-learning programmes. You’ll help ensure our members are informed about the latest developments and learning opportunities, and they’re valued for their contributions to the PVRI. No two days are the same. One day, you might be writing content for our website and social media channels, and the next, you might be welcoming respected speakers and attendees from over 30 countries to our scientific webinar.
We are looking for someone with excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail. You’ll need to create successful marketing plans and grow our membership. You will also bring excellent organizational skills and the ability to coordinate high-quality webinars.
If this sounds like you, we can’t wait to hear from you!
What we can offer
We offer a 35-hour working week and flexible working, a positive learning culture, international travel, and opportunities for you to learn and grow in your role. You will need to be able to travel to London for the occasional meeting.
The PVRI celebrates diversity and is committed to equality and inclusion in our recruitment practices and ways of working. If you’re excited about our mission and can bring talent and enthusiasm to our cause, we’d love to hear from you.
