Enact have a vacancy for a Senior Youth and Community Worker to lead our open-access community youth provision.  We are looking for an experienced youth practitioner to manage our youth team and work within the enact team to develop a range of engaging activities and training opportunities for young people with particular focus on those aged 10 to 19 in the Enfield community. 

The Senior Youth and Community Worker needs to be a passionate, enthusiastic and professional. They will lead the youth team to create community-based opportunities for the whole family, in accordance with the ethos and values of Oasis. The Senior Youth worker will also support the enact team to develop and be involved in community cohesion projects involving children, families and youth.

Enact actively encourages continued professional development and opportunities for further education for all its staff.

How you will make a difference

As the Workplace Mental Health and Training Manager, I develop, deliver and manage mental health training and initiatives to support employers, employees and others, in creating mentally healthy workplaces and communities.

I create, and oversee the creation of, new and bespoke training, initiatives and contribute to the design, development and delivery of consultancy services, aligned with our other services.

I review our existing products and services for reliability, evidence-base, relevancy and effectiveness and apply or project-manage improvements.

I ensure the continued high-quality of delivery of our mental health training and initiatives to external audiences across both Rethink Mental Illness and Mental Health UK.

• I ensure effective incident and accident management recording on Hive in line with legislation and contractual requirements, adhering to internal policies and procedures and regulatory notifications. 
• I maximise service user experience through developing an effective complaints management culture and recording on Hive in line with internal policies and procedures 
• I take a safeguarding lead role in the service, ensuring effective safeguarding practice and reporting. Establishing effective professional relationship with the safeguarding team.
• I provide effective line management to staff, including dealing with conduct, performance and attendance issues under relevant policies and procedures.

Some of the essential skills and experience required:

• I have achieved (or working towards) Level 5 Diploma in Leadership in Health & Social Care or the equivalent.
• 2 years relevant experience in an operational management capacity in a health/social care setting. 
• Knowledge and understanding of the current legal responsibilities and standards for CQC registered services, including the need for the management and delivery of person-centred services. 
• Experience of providing effective supervision, leadership and management of staff. 
• Must have experience of directly working with people with a severe mental illness.
• Must have experience of working within statutory agencies.

You will lead a dispersed team to coordinate and mature the organisations strategy management; business planning processes: corporate plan: programme/project management.

You will drive a high performing culture, inspiring, coaching and empowering your team.

You will collaborate with senior leaders and teams and have strong stakeholder management to build relationships across the organisation. 

You will use your expertise to partner with key stakeholders to champion our corporate processes and enhance our strategic maturity level to support our strategic ambitions.

Location: We have a hybrid approach to working, work pattern and location will be agreed with the successful candidate. The role can be based at any of our UK offices, these are Belfast, Birmingham, Cardiff, Exeter, Glasgow, Leeds, London, Newcastle and Newtown. 

Essential criteria

•  Experience of leading and developing dispersed, high performing team to deliver excellent service to internal stakeholders
• Significant experience of delivering the key elements of the strategy management system, and the ability to provide professionally presented strategic analysis to senior audiences 
• Demonstrable experience of program/project management and relevant qualification i.e. PgM, Prince 2 Agile Foundation & Practitioner
• Solid stakeholder management experience at senior level i.e. SMT and Chief Executive, incl influencing senior decision makers, teams and colleagues
• Ability to facilitate difficult discussions with diverse range of stakeholders
• Significant experience of collaborating with and influencing internal customers to create effective business processes
• Experience of making sense of complex strategic issues, and the ability to triangulate data and metrics with strategic learning
• Knowledgeable in business excellence frameworks such as EFQM

Langdon hospital in Dawlish is the base for Devon Partnership Trust’s Inpatient Secure Mental Health Services. Advocacy has an office on site and advocates travel between the office and two on site inpatient units:

Dewans Centre (4 medium secure wards)

Chichester House (low secure ward)

The hospital supports men from South-West England who, because of their mental health needs, have had contact with the legal system and require a safe and secure environment where they can receive treatments, therapies, and care to help them recover. Sometimes people are accepted without criminal charges pending, where there is evidence of significant risk to others in the context of mental disorder.

How you will make a difference

The role focusses on a single remit of advocacy service delivery, IMHA.  At times, it may be necessary for you to carry out cases for the people you are supporting from additional remits, for example to complete a qualification portfolio or because it best suits the needs of the person to have the same advocate. However, most of your caseload will be working within your single remit, at times working collaboratively with other advocates. You will manage your own caseload, using a person-led, issue-based advocacy approach, closing cases efficiently when the work has concluded and identifying when the person you are supporting has additional advocacy needs, ensuring an appropriate referral is raised, signposting is considered, and any unmet needs are recorded.

Head of Marketing and Communications
Salary: £52,915.20 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Duration: Permanent
Location: Hybrid - Remote working with requirement to regularly work from HQ in Exeter or any other Devon Air Ambulance premises.

The Role

We have a rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced marketing and communications leader to join the Devon Air Ambulance team and help us tell our story.

Supported by a team of six, and working across the charity, the role will design and deliver marketing and communications strategies to support our mission, vision and strategic aims.

From developing our digital marketing across social media and a new website, to implementing a new visual identity, to underpinning our fundraising activities with creative and compelling communications, the breadth of this role provides a unique opportunity for someone to make a significant contribution to our ongoing success.

The Candidate

We’re looking for an outstanding marketing and communications leader who is strategically minded and delivery focused. They will be able to lead and develop an existing team and be adept at building and maintaining productive working relationships. They will seek out new opportunities to add value to existing activity and develop new ventures in collaboration with colleagues from a diverse range of different disciplines across the organisation. The ideal candidate will bring experience from a charity background and be used to supporting a broad portfolio of income generating activities. They will also be as comfortable leading communications internally as they are externally.

The Package 

Salary: £52,915.20 per annum.
