Utilising your previous retail experience and excellent managerial skills, you will manage the day to day running of our store - maximising store sales and profits while ensuring our customers receive an excellent service. Persuasive Advocacy
Design and deliver a successful income generation plan and targets that enables the delivery of our ambitious strategic direction, with the CEO, Artistic Director and National and Regional Choir Producers.
Ensure our overall Case for Support remains compelling and up-to-date. In particular liaise with Producers on evaluation waves and with the Marcomms function to develop creative new storytelling approaches that will bring the impact we make to life.
Lead the application process for Trusts and Foundations and some statutory and corporate organisations, working closely with colleagues across the organisation to collate all necessary information, and compile final applications with detailed budgets and supporting material.
Provide timely receipts, invitations and reports to funding partners, in order to maintain productive and positive relationships with administration staff and Trustees.
Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of fundraising activities, aiming to deliver maximum impact and maximum efficiency.
Recommend and drive targeted additional cultivation activity, from the development of standalone investment materials (digital and hard copy) to receptions and events.
Represent NYCOS at internal and external networking opportunities, developing existing and identifying new institutional relationships.
Research and qualify further development opportunities in response to planned activity including artistic and creative learning programmes.
Work closely with colleagues to ensure that grants are spent in line with funding agreements.
Carry out any other duties as deemed appropriate by the Chief Executive .
Precise administration
Maintain accurate records of all grants and donations including the appropriate destination and Gift Aid Declarations using the organisation’s Customer Relationship Management system (CRM).
Manage budgets, prepare financial data and monitor incoming grant payments with the Finance Team.
Ensure the maintenance of up-to-date records, with the ability to generate and analyse data, and ensuring all data adheres to applicable legislation and guidance, including GDPR.

Summary job description
As the Director of Programme Performance, you will be pivotal in leading a team responsible for the design, implementation, and management of monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) systems. We are looking for someone with the skills, experience and passion to join our team of trainers. Ensuring they receive the highest standard of socialisation and training, thereby maximising their chances of becoming a Medical Detection Dog.
Responsibilities
Training and Development of Puppies
- Take responsibility for a group of puppies allocated to socialisers living in your geographical area
- When required, take dogs home during the training period to ensure continuous development and reinforcement of training routines.
- Provide training that adheres to ADUK regulations and MDD quality standards in accordance with timescales and targets.
- To deliver effective training by holding puppy classes, 121’s and home visits with socialisers in your geographical area
- Conduct regular training sessions with assistance dog puppies in training in various environments to ensure they are confident and responsive in real-world settings
- To prepare the puppy to be a Medical Alert Assistance Dog, using positive reinforcement techniques to teach desired behaviours and modify unwanted behaviours
- Regularly monitor progress of the puppies in your area and provide detailed, evidenced feedback to the senior team within Dog Supply and training
- Support and assist when required with the potential matches for a particular assistance dog partnership.
- To successfully prepare the puppy to pass the relevant Assistance Dog assessments
- Where necessary, highlight to your line manager, any dogs that are not progressing sufficiently through the training programme
Socialiser Support
- Be the first point of contact for the socialisers in your area, which will include guidance, support and instruction to socialisers on effective work and training with their assistance dogs.
- Provide general health care advice within your core working hours.
Socialiser Recruitment
- When required, assist in the recruitment of new volunteer socialisers.
- When required, to assess prospective new volunteer socialisers, including home, workplace, pet dog and children assessments.
Other
- Update the Harlequin CRM database in a timely fashion to ensure accurate and up to date training, veterinary and health records.
- Support the charity’s fundraising, communications and volunteering teams as required, specifically in relation to your area.
- Share best practice with colleagues across the charity.
- Other tasks or ad hoc duties agreed with your line manager required to ensure the successful running of the charity.

- Ability to plan work, be organised and ensure that time is utilised effectively for yourself, colleagues and socialisers
- Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with a wide range of people internally and externally. This will include clients and their families, fosterers, other professional service providers, members of the public, the media, managers and other colleagues

Job Profile
Reporting to the Managing Director, you will lead on the recruitment, retention, and value growth of Afghanaid’s supporter base by directing and implementing communications, fundraising and engagement strategies, aligned with broader organisation goals. Designing and managing a tight budget, you will direct the Communication and Giving unit to maximise their success.
You will provide strategic and supervisory oversight of fundraising income from individual giving, regular giving, major donors, trusts and foundations, corporates, community and student fundraising and events, managing annual fundraising appeals and driving organisational unrestricted income growth.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
You will be an experienced and dynamic communicator with significant demonstrable experience in fundraising and/or communications at a senior level, coupled with an awareness and up to date knowledge and experience of the tools that would maximise the success of our communications and fundraising activities. In addition, you will have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to confidently build and maintain strong relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders. This is a part-time role, based in Oxford.
Position: Receptionist (pm)
Location: Kidlington, Oxford
Hours: 20 hours per week, 4 hours per day Monday to Friday: 12:30 to 16:30
Salary: £13,103.87 per annum (£24,242.20 per annum full-time equivalent (FTE)

The Role
The Receptionist serves as the primary point of contact for staff and visitors, ensuring a seamless and welcoming experience through face-to-face interactions and telephone communications.
Collaborating closely with the Facilities Manager and job share partner, the role involves efficiently handling queries, managing the reception email account, and coordinating visitor bookings and parking logistics.
Responsibilities also include overseeing incoming/outgoing mail, facilitating large-scale mailings via the Royal Mail online system, managing publications on behalf of the Communications team, monitoring, and replenishing stationery supplies, and producing access cards for new team members and contractors.
Additionally, the Receptionist provides support to the Facilities Manager in handling the café coffee machine and food ordering as needed. The role requires availability for full-time coverage during annual leave and absences of the other job share post holder to ensure the continuous smooth operation of the reception area.
Please be aware that you are required to provide full-time coverage during annual leave and in the absence of the other job share post holder as outlined in the job description. Please note that this is exclusively a non-hybrid role, with your work location being based at Church House Oxford.
About You
You do not need to be a practising Christian or have a faith to work here - around 50% of staff are not practising Christians but are comfortable with the Christian ethos that underpins this vital work. However, all staff do have a desire to make a difference.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is a must, with a willingness to embrace new technologies and learn database management. While being a supportive member of the team is essential, we also value the ability to work independently with confidence.
