Sightsavers is looking for a Deputy Director: Institutional Funding - a new role within our expanding team, deputising for the Director and ensuring the effective implementation of the organisation's institutional funding strategy.

Salary: £70,000 - £75,000

• Experience of working with multiple stakeholders up to senior management.

Job Purpose:

The Institutional Funding Manager will play an important role in SHA’s institutional income generation activities. Working closely with assigned country teams, the post-holder will support pipeline development, lead the development and writing of high-quality bids, donor engagement, and positioning for contract and grant opportunities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are critical for this role.

French and/or Portuguese language skills are desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

Proposal development

• Identify, research and advise on new funding opportunities.

About the role

We have a new and exciting opportunity to work with us as an Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Manager (External) to provide continuity while our EDI Strategy Lead is on maternity leave. Reporting to the Executive Director, Impact and working with key stakeholders and colleagues across the whole organisation, you will help ensure alignment between our external For Everyone Strategic Framework and our new organisational strategy. FareShare Midlands is the region’s largest food redistribution charity, fighting food poverty and hunger by tackling waste. We source good quality food that is surplus to requirements from the food industry. An army of volunteers help redistribute this food to over 500 frontline charities and community groups such as school breakfast clubs, community centres and organisations supporting those who are homeless, unemployed, socially isolated and recovering from addiction. These organisations provide meals and food parcels to over 67,000 vulnerable people every week.   We also support people through our Employability programmes, enabling them to learn skills and find rewarding work – some for the first time.  

Hunger is a growing issue in the UK and while there is surplus food that is otherwise going to waste, we believe that this food should be used to feed people first.

The Role

FareShare Midlands is a high-profile charity with stakeholders from varying sectors not least over 500 companies in the food industry and FareShare UK.  You will work towards, and achieve, a best-in-class in operation not accepting standards or a service that falls short of this.

As the senior person on site, you will be the key point of contact for operations, logistics and stock allocation for your region. You will be responsible for all compliance issues including food hygiene, health & safety and security of the depot and the safety and wellbeing of all visitors, contractors, depot staff and volunteers.

The main role will be to lead the successful day to day operations and ensure the ongoing success of the FareShare Midlands Regional Centres. This will involve working closely with staff and volunteers to ensure that all activities, including operational and order processing are completed to the agreed standard & daily timetable.

With colleagues in the Supply chain & Development functions, you will help develop new operational/logistic activity and lead on the implementation of growth of your RCs activity, capacity and output.

You will report to the Regional Warehouse Operations Manager and will be a key member of the Operations team across the Midlands region. You will identify and share good practise within and outside the Midlands, working closely with colleagues in the other regional centres.

In agreement with the Regional Warehouse Operations Manager, you will set out relevant Ops KPIs and targets and will join daily calls and weekly meetings to discuss and help resolve issues across the Midlands region, working as ‘one team’ with colleagues from other functions and regions.

Opening times:

Over the week the depot will be open for the hours required, with staff working 37.5 hours per week which may include working in evenings and weekends on a rota basis if the performance and growth of the region requires it. You will work with the Regional Operations Manager to implement the shift patterns required to provide the service to our members and communities.

Main responsibilities

Job responsibilities will prioritise but not be limited to:

We're looking for a temporary Face-to-Face (F2F) Manager in the North and East region. This is a fantastic opportunity within the RNLI to play a vital role in developing and growing the RNLI in-house F2F Fundraising team.

This role will be required to manage a team of face-to-face fundraisers who will sign up regular supporters within a defined geographical area and raise vital long-term funding for the charity. This will include opportunities to work alongside other specialist teams including our volunteer lifeboat crews and lifeguards, playing an integral part in reaching both local and team income targets and contributing towards the wider objectives of the RNLI.

Your role

As a F2F Manager you will:

• Recruit, train and performance manage a team of motivated F2F Fundraisers.
• Manage and develop a portfolio of fundraising locations in Northumberland, Tyne and Wear, Cleveland and Yorkshire areas.
• Measure performance against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) i.e. targets and budget.
• Create and execute detailed delivery plans, mitigating for risks and opportunities.
• Maintain and develop internal and external stakeholder relationships.

About you

Working at the frontline of our fundraising activities, you’ll have excellent communication skills, people management capabilities, proven track record of working to targets and a passion to manage a team who engage with the beach-going public and event visitors to get their commitment for regular support for the cause.

You’ll be an effective team player with a pragmatic and solution focussed approach to problem solving and a calm approach to a busy workload. You’ll be positive, confident, determined, resilient, with very strong communication skills and naturally outgoing.

You’ll be a self-starter who can lead an energetic and innovative team to success. Able to adhere to codes of conduct, policies and be Fundraising Regulator compliant in all that you do and deliver. You’ll be flexible and prepared to work out of office hours with considerable travel throughout the year, peaking through the summer months. Substantial annual leave during the summer would not be practical for this role.

To be considered as the F2F Manager (North East), you will need:

• Proven experience and success in face-to-face fundraising. This will either have been gained working for a charity or a fundraising agency.
• Evidence of managing and motivating a team of paid staff or volunteers to achieve goals/targets.
• Excellent communication skills and teamworking ethos.
• Self-motivation and ability to create and prioritise own workload.

We are currently seeking a Team Lead to head up the delivery of support services for carers across the Southend Borough.  Working 37 hours per week with remote working with the flexibility to work from home and community venues in Southend.

Role responsibilities 

• To design and deliver a roadmap for the development of the Data Collection System, in line with the Trussell Trust’s strategic goals, and in collaboration with key stakeholders. 

• To manage the acquisition of DCS projects/changes, assessing value to different user groups using qualitative and quantitative analytical data to plan future support and development requirements of the system 

• Project management of large scale changes to the DCS and related systems, including the creation of project documentation, providing a consistent and accessible monitoring process for internal stakeholders.

Fundraising

• Support the setting of the charity’s fundraising targets through the research and review of both external and internal fundraising activities.
• Maintain an up-to-date database of the charity’s fundraising activities and campaigns.
• Collate the agreed metrics (including income and expenditure) and report on a weekly basis.
• Participate fully in the generation of fundraising ideas and activity selection.

Support Coordinator

We’re looking for an innovative, passionate and professional individual with excellent communication and organisational skills to join our Stroke Recovery Service based in Rochdale area.

This is an exciting, remote working opportunity, to work with stroke survivors and their families to support them following a stroke.

Position: S11172 Stroke Association Support Coordinator

Location: Home-based, Rochdale, however, regular travel will be required as part of this role (may include team meetings or other work-related meetings)

Hours: Part-time, 21 hours per week (flexible work available)
